@@table5584 I agree, I wish 9x9 was a WCA event. even tho the timer stops at 10 minutes, my average is also 10 minutes. But it would still be fun even if it was a DNF.
Thanks! I’ll definitely be doing that often when I have time, along with Pistol too, a lot of people seemed to like him and he loved everyone! Thanks so much that means a lot!
Hah, that’d be cool but your pretty far ahead! Technically speaking, the cube is “tiled” you once again have to do it piece by piece (center by center or remove the caps, split the edges into 2 pieces and the corners into 3 and then reassemble) if that helps! I’m also gonna start selling modded meilong v2 7x7s so I’ll text you a message of all the info
I wish there was a fast way to even out the gel. I waited for hours with mine, and it kept catching dust particles. If I wanted to make a cube glossy now, I'd probably try vapor polishing. You don't have to take the cube apart. It's enough to put some cardboard pieces between the pieces. The UV gel doesn't really flow inside by itself.
Right? Kinda tedius and unfortunate its so “difficult” and takes so long. Thats unfortunate about the dust particles too, very annoying. Thats a good idea, have you tried it before? Also, I totally forgot I seen that in your video, its a genius idea and I think I’m gonna try that, good to know! Thanks so much!
@@Megaminxcuber Yeah, I tried it, and it was so tedious that I never coated any worthy cube. I'm too picky in what comes to the surface quality. I got some of my cubes' pieces to my liking, but never an entire cube.
You honestly don’t need to dissemble the cube if you are careful when you coat it. It levels way more when it’s actually level. The gel coat I use self levels in 5 mins and then you cure and wipe the excess with an alcohol cloth to get a nice thin even coating.
@@OlgaFyodorova Ah, do you mean with vapor polishing or witht the UV coating? I meant did you try the vapor polishing, but I assume your talking about UV as you were saying its tedious and wasn’t worth coating any cube?
@@ishaanbansal1089 very small, I think UV coating is more shiny but I like vapor polish better because its grip and its level everywhere even when looking for defects, and UV coating can almost give a “pillowed” feel at some points in time.
Fantastic question! I’ve used it to remove logos, but its doesn’t work to well sanding it and the polishing it as it looks darker and will most likely feel different from the factory Uv coating. I am attempting to find a way to perfect it but for now if you do it to the logo you have to do it to every white piece to make it look/feel the same
Yes you can! Factory finish does not matter for vapor polishing or UV coating, just use a tissue or cloth to get any dust/lube/dirt of the outside before doing either!
It is entirely comp legal, I’ve competed 3 competitions with it and it is always an even surface! Just don’t overdue it otherwise pieces may melt too much and then at that point it would not be comp legal.
Thanks for making this tutorial. I should probably UV Coat my 9x9 because i solve it out side a lot
Of course! That’d be sick let me know if you do it!
That seems like a lot for a 9x9, but I couldn’t agree any less that it would look cool. 9x9 should be added to WCA.

I would love some more live streams where you just chill out! Great video quality as always and you will reach 10k this year, I feel!

Are you going to mod and sell any other puzzles? And do you have a website for that? If so, can you please let me know what it is?
It can come out perfect
bro, that nats mat has been to hell and back.
Facts 😂 Came home from Nats and it just got worse from there with every RexTO I made 😂

Uv FTO
That’s a great Idea
Wait so you’re telling me that UV Coating is just nail polish top coat?
Yes
That would be correct!
Could you do that by putting the whole cube in like you did with vapor polishing instead of the separate caps?
Unfortunately no, it can harden together and then be stuck “permanently”
@@Megaminxcuber ok thanks!
Pls make force super ivy cubes
Hah, thats not a bad idea actually! I probably will!
So, does polishing melt the plastic, and this is an extra layer of coating, right?
It does not, and its a layer of UV gel that hardens and makes it shiny/grippy.
Oh, but are there any teeny tiny differences in terms of feel between vapor polishing and UV coating?

What does pillowed mean?
And you are saying that the grip for vapor polishing is better right?
Is it safe to touch the night like u did?
@@DangMinhQuanSpeedcuber yup!
UV coat a timer
Great idea!
Can you use UV resin for this instead of UV nail polish?
Yes you can!
how many rex-tos are there...
Wayyyy to many 😂 I’m greatful for it though, nice to have support! I have 5 more on the way 👀

could you use this to remove logos from uv coated cubes, if so how would you do it?
would you sand off the logo then uv coat it? or do you need to add like a filler or smth

What would you reccomend?
A moment of silence for those rex cubes
Lol 😂
is this comp legal? I dont think my delegates would allow this
