    Good, need more videos like this ! I'm subscribing just because of this video, POF GR-3 kinda looks like HK G41 5.56 mm, it would be great to see that available on civilian market. I realise 7.62 X51 mm is restricted calibre. Has POF considered making G-3 in different calibres e.g 6.5 mm Creedmore, just need a different barrel from a regular G-3. How about converting old surplus G-3s into say .338 federal, all you need to do is take the barrel out, rebore it to 8.6 mm and sell on domestic market, I would buy it just for a wall hanger, new factory made semi auto G3 costs about 900 euros on international market. if you sell obsolete for about 500 euros, thats is just about enough to make a new one for the military

    7.62 x51 mm has a place in todays armies, the most important reason is that it is more POWERFUL then 5.56 x 45 mm, 7.62 x 39 mm soviet (AK-47 round) and 5.45 x 39 mm soviet (.222 in pak civilian terminology) As more and more armies issue armour ( bullet proof vests) to all of their forces in combat, 7.62 x51 can penetrate armour. Hopefully we can start work on 6.8 mm caseless or polymer case ammo, with about 9 to 10 gram bullet travelling at near 1 km per second.

    GR3/HK33 could and perhaps should have been a Police weapon if the military didn't adopt it. The 7.62x39 round is overpowered for police use, and it could've led to development of a carbine GR3/HK53 variant.
    With the PK8/GR3 and PK7 POF delivered the goods, but the state (military and Police) markets missed the boat, and that probably cost export sales. You can't export what you're not making. Things will hopefully be better with the new rifles.

    • @salmanali-cm8rk

      Agree 100 percent

    • @uha6477
      @uha6477 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think in terms of 9mm SMGs though, for police use, POF could perhaps have explored buying a defunct project (the IP etc) such as the SITES Spectre M4 and making that in Pakistan for police use, and therefore avoiding having to pay HK royalties for the MP5.

    • @salmanali-cm8rk

      Well the projects didn’t go further because the military didn’t had a need for these calibers bk then . I don’t see why it will not perform.many militaries and forces have very successfully used 556 variant. Roller delayed blow back is a very dependable systems

      5.56 mm is great, its light weight ammo BUT if your enemy is wearing armour (bullet proof vest) you need 7.62 x 51mm ! also 7.62 x 61 is better in the mountains, if you are in a defensive position, you can see you enemy very far way

    Sir i have many questions
    1 what kind of machinery do pof use
    2 do pof use cnic machines
    3 can same standard be achieved on cnc machines as the orignal one .
    4 why don't pof let some private small arms company to manufacturers these. It will give you stable supply lines of these pk7 pk8 gr3 produce as well as you can sell them abroad. These are very fine products

    • @salmanali-cm8rk
      @salmanali-cm8rk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well all depends on the job.
      We use CNC, NC and conventional machining
      Yes we do use CNC infact we were probably the first one to use in Pakistan years before any one ever started using it.
      As for private sector POF has helped built many private vendor around pakistan and often outsource our orders to them on annual basis. Naturally we do expect certain level of quality. Alson in Karachi and Dawood sons in peshawar are prime examples of POF private partner ship that make good quality products for defence and export.

      G3 was a great weapon from 1950s to about late 1990s. Reason for being so attached is that POF has licence, experience and tools to make it, so it is cheap. G3 does the job even though it is not the latest and greatest. Pak military wins not because of latest and greatest technologies BUT with great WARRIORS. The downside of G3 i the weight and length. Modern 7.62 x 51 mm can weigh as little as 3.8 kg and if in Bullpup configuration only around 80 cm length (about 30 inches)

    sir why still our forces are using chinese AK's. like i think POF has the capability and capacity to make weapons like smg also.. why are we still buying them instead of making our own and relying on POF rather than imported weapons

      When our forces brought 762x39 at that time POF was not making any rifle chambered in 762x39

    The ballistic on 5.56 is better then 7.62 then why pak army is still sticking to this calibre? even russians are moved out and inducted 5.45.
    Also POF should need to invest more in R&D, marketing and some new fresh telant.

    Ugly guns 🤦🏻‍♂️
    Even 80 years old STG44 looks better then these... POF needs to focus on design.

      Who is going to pay for it ? Pakistan's economy is not doing that well! if you can give a few billion euros to Pak government, maybe they will acquire latest and greatest toys : )
