I'm a new learner. I've been watching a few instructors. Your explanation videos are just at the right speed, super easy to follow and understand. Thank you.
Mr Bray, you are absolutely the best teacher in demystifying photography in areas that traditionally are confusing to beginners, and amateurs who never quite understood thoroughly the concepts. I have watched 7 episodes so far and I could not wait further to express my gratitude for your hard work on the curriculum design and delivery!!
Cheers Shubhro! Please do tell your friends about these videos, and maybe even grab a copy of the course booklet (or ibook, or clip-cards from my website chrisbrayphotography.com - there's heaps of other free tutorials on various specific topics there too) to help me keep these videos free if you can! =) Thanks again and have fun practicing!
I love how you are not arrogant compared to other youtubers.. like them saying all about manual mode and all high and mighty. But you my friend, the humility, and how beginners understand you. Keep it up! You are one amazing teacher!
I tried watching more than 10 photography videos, but your explanation is the simplest and most effective for beginners. Thank you for making such a knowledgeable and easy-to-follow content!
Wow, I have watched these videos twice and actually took notes... Thank you for helping to understand ISO, Aperture and F/#... The first person who has explained it where it made since! Thank you!
I’ve summed up the vast majority of the gargantuan learning curve of photography into just a couple of pages of notes thanks to your literally perfect explanation of each component necessary with regard to capturing a HQ image
Thank you for the very helpful videos. You are the first person that has been able to successfully demystify the concepts of shutter, aperture, and ISO.
Binging these videos has been the best decision that I've made all day! Thank you for these gems of knowledge and great examples to improve my photography.
Hehe -=) Im glad! =) I appreciate it - it helps make it worthwhile =) You might also find the course booklet that goes with the video series handy too (either the physical book, or the iBook, both available on chrisbrayphotography.com/) along with my summary clip-cards (or app!). Thanks very much for your support, have a great week & keep practicing! Maybe we can meet one day if you join one of my photo tours around the world? =)
Hi Chris I’m in my mid 60’s and just bought myself a eos250d then came across your course notes there fantastic and the way you explain things even I can follow, A very big thanks to you my friend I will go to your website quite like having some quick reference notes as you do forget things when you first start out. Very impressed thanks again Regards Paul
These are absolutely the best explanations of photography basics I've ever heard! Wish you had been my Professor in College. You would have completely demystified that photography course. You're tremendously appreciated, keep up the good work!
I subscribed already. Watched 3 videos enough for me to fall in love with these CLASSES . I have this probelm all the time when I video my cooking videos....never knew what to do. I knew my cannon was old but it still drove me insane seeing the specks in the background the more I focus my camera closely. But then I HAD to to show the food.. I am a beginner and this has helped me to understand my camera a little...Wow Thank you again!
I wasn't being fair for 2 years I've been watching Chris Bray's without commenting, sorry! Photography has been my passion, but Chris gave me the science!!
This series has helped me learn SO MUCH! I feel more confident in taking photos now! I'm super glad because now I can really start my freelance photography. Thank you X1 million!
Thanks man! =)
Thank you for clearing up the high ISO "noise" issue. It made me afraid based on other tutorials, now I know it is an asset I can utilize for better photos.
This course is awesome. i enrolled in an online course and it was so dry that I found it boring and hard to understand. This has explained the basic techniques so well. I am excited to get out and try them. Thank you for sharing this course with us, I have bought the booklets to go with it. Fantastic
Chris Bray Photography i have just bought my 1st dslr5300 nikon to try my hands on photography as a hobby. want to first take some good portraits of my baby indoor in natural light . can you suggest some tips on camera settings, lenses etc. it would be very helpful.
Yet ANOTHER great educational video. I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH. Thank you so much. LOVE your educational videos, every one of them. I'm using what I learn from you in my photography. I can't thank you enough for that.
Chris you’re awesome. You have the power to change the world. You’re a great teacher. I am comprehending stuff that was like rocket science for me. Thank you.
Hi, Chris! I have been following you quote sometime and I love how you explain things. It's makes total sense! I would like to request a video on how to achieve sharp images. I find it so hard to get information on how to get the focus point correctly on the subject.! Thanks in advance!
Chris, dude. Brilliant work. Very basic stuff, but very quality for people like me---novice photographers. I appreciate it as do so many of us. Thanks!
Your online course is brilliant. I am a freelance journo and have been playing around with a DSLR to pivot my business. Still a lot to learn but had my first portrait published in the NZ Herald this week. Thank you.
Thank you so much, your video was pin-point perfect. I misunderstood ISO SO much for so long. Seeing people with these crystal clear pictures, I could never understand why, especially when I saw someone who used an almost identical camera setup to mine. I always thought it was down to editing (which I do still think a lot of it is) but I now at least know how to make the RAW picture itself a lot sharper, and a lot better quality, when I try to get my early-morning wildlife pictures. I'll have to give this a go during my next look around for deer.
Another awesome lesson mate! Another day I was trying to freeze rain and I got the same results that you showed. I'm gonna try it with ISO higher this time! Keep going man!
I'll do my best! Thanks Sunny! =) I appreciate your comment - it helps make it worthwhile =) You might also find the course booklet that goes with the video series handy too (either the physical book, or the iBook, both available on chrisbrayphotography.com/) along with my summary clip-cards (or app!). @@ChrisBrayPhotography I wish you could just make few detailed videos on Several lenses and their differences. Like 50mm f 1.2, 50mm f 1.4 , 50mm f1.8.
My favorite iso to shoot on a high shutter like 1/1000th to 1/2000th is around 100 160 200 but it was nice knowing that higher iso do produce alot of noise :)
These are the best videos ever made for photography. Thank you so much for these. One question though. When taking landscape photos, the ISO should be down to 100 since mountains don't move, right? Thanks.
Thanks! Generally, you'd use a low ISO (ideally 100) for landscapes yes, except, while the mountains don't move, the camera might (camera shake) and so if hand-held without a tripod, you may still want a higher ISO to give faster shutter speed so you don't get camera shake.. or, sometimes plants etc sway in the wind, and so again, you may want higher ISO than 100 sometimes.
The newer canons have wifi and your mobile can be used as a remote as well ;) saves fiddling with a stick (can also adjust all the variables in the app)
