Holy crap man, I know he said his wife was also an Otaku but the zone she was in explaining all the stuff she watched and her instantly accepting the situation was just hilarious to me.
Well that was unexpected twist but a welcome one. This is really interesting, they put a fully original twist on both the isekai and the otome genre. this might be one of the best anime of all time so far, can't wait to see more.
This episode's twist took me by surprise! Never had an isekai, even villainess type, were anyone from the original world watches AND interacts with the isekai world. Can't wait to see where this goes!
Just finished watching it, That was a surprisingly unique twist especially for a villainess anime. This episode has skyrocketed my rating for the series and I am exited to see where the story goes.
I was prepared for a tragic scene of the family finding out the dad is dead. I was _not_ expecting his consciousness being in the game, his wife and daughter being spectators to his antics and dad jokes, and the two being able to interact directly to help him out! This anime was already good, now it's even better! I already want this to get another season.
I've been saying for weeks that the daughter was one of my favorite character in the series, and I am so glad that was paid off in this episode, and it looks like she's going to be an integral part of her father's journey going forward. Also loved how the mother instantly believed her when she spouted off her insane theory of what happened to her father.
im suprised you didn't mention the jojo reference the Jotaro you fool thanks to that i have come back the mother even going along with the yare yare or good grief bit to match her daughter was very wholesome
A slight difference though, no one got transported into the game for that show, if I recall correctly. The game character came out into the real world instead.
@@zam023Not really a gaming world as it's explained that The Can't Take No For An Answer God made the game to control how the path in his old world went so he could've summoned (I can't remember the character's name, been awhile) into this one. It's actually an Full Isekai camouflaged as a Villainess.
After seasons of "bad Dads" I love how fun and wholesome this whole family is turning out to be. Also plot twist came out of nowhere and made me like the show even more!
This episode pushed this show into the one I'm most looking forward to every week. And it's only episode 4!? So much meta and potential AND it continues to deliver every week! Peak? I think it's just the tip of the iceberg. There's more to go and I'm here for it. Everyone must watch Old Dad Villainess!
If you like the back and forth interaction with an otome game villainess I highly recommend Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte
There was an anime with a similar concept, in Endo Kobayashi Live narration, a couple of students from the Narration Club, practice narrating an Otome Game, then they start interacting with the game by talking to one of the characters, and changing the story while they narrate it.
After reading what I could find of the manga, I guess they are going to adapt until the school festival and Grace's birthday party. The school festival does hint some things about what's going with the true Grace.
Most people: "The mother and daughter are taking part too?" Me: "Kenzaburo has mana?" Guess it's the time for this isekai to become the family show it was always meant to be!
There was an anime last year that was similar to this with the outsiders intervening in the game but it wasn’t that a character was isekai’d into the game Both the main casts took place in real world and game world respectively but the real world people gained a mysterious ability to intervene and provide “godly insight” to the characters in the game so they heard their voices as if gods were speaking to them lol It was also featuring a “villainess” While similar in intervention regard they are quite different aside from that This one reminds me a bit of both that and uncle from another world
That was a based isekai twist, and …. Just the confirmation of stuff… I’m so happy I’m watching this anime, this is something interesting. Plus my favorite part, BASED WIFE/MOM. She understood it exactly.
It continues to surprise me with how well it's being directed and sometimes even impressing me with the animation. I don't feel like villainess animes often get the love they deserve but this has been a really fun show and it's animated very well.
There was one villainess show that had simillar style... Tsundere villainess Lieselotte... In that show 2 highschoolers were commenting what was happening in the game and only the main prince heard them as voices of the gods... this is in the same park of uniqueness, but at least 10 times more interesting (that show wasnt that good, but I enjoyed it). It also has this unstoppable characteristic and interactive nature.
BEHOLD! THE HANDS OF GOD! Also did she just make a damn Jojo reference? That's an Otaku kid for ya lmao. And what do you even describe this literal 4th wall breaking bs? Like this is something the SCP Foundation should be containing lol.
there was some seasons ago a show that had a similar concept, but it was a couple influencing the the storie to join the vileness and the prince. the name of the show was Tsundere Akuyaku Reijou Liselotte to Jikkyou no Endou-kun to Kaisetsu no Kobayashi-san. this new one is better but both have a similar mechanics
I think Grace's face when she saw the dolls represents our faces in that scene. We were all speechless and trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Also, does someone have all the 80s anime that mom recommended?
This episode actually had me thinking more about the opening, as I didn’t really think much about his wife and daughter’s inclusion in the opening playing the game, more than maybe we’d also get an idea of how they were coping? But this makes me think a bit more about Grace herself. This anime reminded me of ‘Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte’, as the players were able to interact with the game too, helping the characters to achieve the perfect ending for everybody where nobody died/there’s no bad end (except for the true bad guy, a real jerk). I think Grace herself is still present within her body, maybe asleep? But the dolls made me think this because the dragon has fire (Grace) and water (Kenzaburo) attributes. The dolls (attributes/soul aspects?) had to be merged, so maybe we’ll actually learn a bit about duality? I think because we see her caged in the opening, perhaps she’s been so resigned to her fate to repeat being unhappy, something reached out, grabbed hold of Kenzaburo and dragged him along to help her and everybody else?
Wow, that's was so unexpected and insanely good plot twist! We finally got to see what happens on the family side! The moment the daughter merge the two doll to an Ancient Dragon was hilarious 😂 Our MC has probably to finish the game and then waking up from his coma, 🤔 This show is getting very interesting! 👀
I remember there an anime that did this concept before but the players were outside of the game and only went in the game at the end I belive...This isn't new to me but its an interesting take
I seen a lot of anime, isekai trash or not, this has been the most dumbfounding plot twist I ever seen and it instantly put this show in 10/10 territory.

Maybe the line is meant to be taken literally? I wasn't really sure with just the white background pullbacks but them actually being able to see dad in the game and literally put their hands through the TV to interact with it feels like it's leaning this way a lot more.
I was waiting for the moment his family would join the game from outside. I mean the OP literally spoils it, so I was simply wondering when. No it is even more interesting.
First we had a Jojo reference and according to the preview we’re getting a Dragon Ball Z reference next episode. This show has officially gotten my attention.

I really thought she was tame prior to this lol
Season 2: he wakes up, but it’s Grace in his body with a “salaryman cheat code”
I need that
@@galonski64 Me too~
With fire/water, she can both support and be supported by Anna and the Prince. How perfect, as expected of Grace-sama.
I just love the self-aware silliness of the anime.
Even the summoning OST is just aggressive yodelling. XD
Well that was unexpected twist but a welcome one. This is really interesting, they put a fully original twist on both the isekai and the otome genre. this might be one of the best anime of all time so far, can't wait to see more.
There's another Villainess series that did this before but under a different path. Just look for Tsundere Villainess.
The Jojo reference in the middle of the episode and the Dragon Ball Z reference in the end card for next week's episode is peck.
This episode's twist took me by surprise! Never had an isekai, even villainess type, were anyone from the original world watches AND interacts with the isekai world. Can't wait to see where this goes!

When the plushies came out, my brain was a blank... LOL
How are they going to explain that.... and then the hands come out... ROFL >_
@@zam023 same! It was just so fun
Divine intervention!
Kenzaburou is truly a role model for all of us otaku of the world. The guy is winning so much in life.
just live in reality and treat people with respect and you'll do fine in life.
@@AHBrandonReviews Sounds good, but the fact that it's in reality kinda negates the doing fine part.
You can say THAT again....! ^~^
that was surprising i mean finally they can finally interact with him but he has no idea that theyre trying to communicate with him

Not often do we get an isekai that involves the family of the isekai'd protagonist like this.
I've been saying for weeks that the daughter was one of my favorite character in the series, and I am so glad that was paid off in this episode, and it looks like she's going to be an integral part of her father's journey going forward. was a good one ill admit
Mom even said "yare yare" lmao.
Dad is winning in life. Having an understanding and sweet otaku wife and a great otaku daughter. T_T
When he got the dolls i thought they were going to be little shape shifters like the gemini spirits from fairy tail
Seems like it's going to be similar to "Endo and Kobayashi Live!"

Yeah! I was reminded of the same thing
A great take and blending of other shows, I'm not even mad, I'm impressed they pulled it off so well.
This went from great to legendary. Like, I was ok just watching it but now I want to get my hands on the source material.

This just confirms that Grace is still alive
I am thankful that he is just in coma,im wish they find to return him to real world. And Grace is return to her body too.
OMG i was not ready... this show is with out question anime of the year, it can only go up from here
The dumbest shit all season is already reserved by 100 Girlfriends. XD

This Otaku family is so insanely wholesome. Really makes this anime so much more enjoyable!😂 ❤
The mother and daughter throwing a JoJo reference is a really nice touch. Complement to the chef!
What happened this episode.... I CALLED IT and even commented my prediction in your episode 2 review!! 😁😁😁

Otaku blood runs deep in the family
Dad building harem 😂 how will family react and assist 😅

genuinely happy I can still get surprised by anime and its a really great idea to boot
This right here is the kind plot twist that more isekai need to try doing. No other isekai that I know of has ever done this.👍🏾
I am really curious how they split the two in the end.
Yoooo finally man I fucking love this shit it had me going as soon as we saw him in the comma but it just got better
Next life villainess had a sorta twist where her best friend was reborn in a friend body. Whixh was a twist, but this one was a major twist, haha
i am really enjoying it, nice they finally told us why there is a beast in the title of the game

This anime has no right to be this good. Also, the music is some of the best.
Wow this a new twist in isekai theme so refreshing 🎉😮
Easily one of the top two shows of this season, perhaps even best.

I love villainess shows

Best of the season. Easy. Best Otome. Ever.
i love this episode
Ok I am gonna say it this anime is the best one of the season l, I was not expecting it, but yeah I am hooked
