I loved the twist that he is still technically alive & that his daughter & wife can not only watch but somewhat interact with him, but that aside with the magic system using the 4 elements & having familiars it reminds me of The Familiar of Zero

I’m genuinely curious on if it does when it’s more of a time travel than a world jump.

At 2.00 the fact that the game "randomly" (or based on your choices) decides what your familiar is, makes me wonder about the speedrunning scene of the game.

The reveal in this episode reminds me of ‘Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte’ where the players Endo and Kobayashi were able to interact with the characters of the game they were playing, though their interaction was a bit different to how Kenzaburo’s wife and daughter were able to interact with it. I wonder if we’ll learn more about Grace herself then? With this new episode revealing the interaction of his wife and daughter, I’m reminded of the OP with Grace in a cage and wonder if that’s gonna have some importance especially since the familiar has dual attributes, were the dolls telling us Grace’s soul still resided in her body side by side with Kenzaburo’s?
Fire supporting earth is most likely a reference to firing clay, and/or considering ashes a type of earth that is "produced" by fire.
I was thinking more along the lines of Lava, but firing clay makes sense too

There are lots of valid reason for Fire supporting Earth, it could be metal making, glass making or even how diamonds are made can be attributed to fire supporting earth.

That was bunch of Portal Fantasy genre stories. Isekai is just Japanese name for it.
Narnia, Oz, Barsoom and Alice books and shows like Amphibia and The Owl House are part of it.
Looks to me like the dragon as Fire and Water elements because fire = Grace and water = Kenzaburou, which make sense ahah

There's Volcanion, but it's not a dragon. So yep, there's still no dragon Pokémon that is Fire- and Water-type.
EDIT: Most probably because if they make it a dragon, it'll prioritize having the Dragon-type first, but then again, there are dragon-presenting Pokémon that are not Dragon-types (and there's also Dragon-types that don't even remotely look like dragons) so time will tell if we can have a Water/Fire dragon in the future.

I think what mom brought up are Isekai-like anime in the 80s. Remember they are 50 year old weebs, it makes more sense she's saying some show in the 80s or 90s and us younger anime fans may have 0 ideas of.

Yeah, I know of all those because I'm an Elder Weeb (started watching anime in the mid 80's) and it's been fun seeing young ones getting confused and missing the references

@@daerovius7535 one piece came out in 1999, I love anime from 70s to early 00s but most people have never seen or read them and have to wait for remakes to get a taste of the great stuff that came out in that era. If not for the remake how many of the current anime fans would have seen ranma? how many have seen slayers or legend of lodoss or captain harlock or escaflowne? What about angel sanctuary (the manga, not the ova episodes) or even city hunter (which has gotten some netflix live action remake stuff if I recall).
Fushigi Yugi is an isekai in the 90s.. i remember watching it after school.. i now feel old😅
