Definitely agree with Spooky, mmr is all over the place atm, and solo queue has always been bad. The updates are definitely something you can work to get used to, but it doesn't change that solo is always gonna be bad unless they can be brought in line with swf.
Facts. I’ve been running rampant on solos, but that’s a lot to do with them just not playing properly. And by that I mean not doing gens when someone else is in chase, not unhooking, not taking chase.
But against a 4man, the games hard. Like it always has been against swfs, easier now. But still a nail biter depending on the game
We really need some kinda game chat. That in of itself would tremendously help solo queue/survivor team
its wild to me though how many people are calling the game "unplayable" for survivors now tho, specifically in regards to solo. Its really not, solo has always been terrible and being just a little more terrible isnt going to make it any more or less unplayable than it was before. It's been a hellscape for a long time, but lets be real, going in to solo survivor expecting your team mates to be good has been a bad idea for a long time even before MMR. Setting yourself up for failure like that is always going to be a miserable time.
I'm more than happy if I get some sick plays, learn a thing or two, get a pip or hell even a safety, and maybe some work done on my challenges.
The issues people are complaining about are the same ones people always complain about in DBD, but the devs dont have what they consider a good solution that suits both what they want for the game and what the players want for the game. If they did, theyd have fixed it by now. Honestly though, I don't think a lot of what they want for the game is the same stuff the players want, and I'm not sure a lot of what the players want will ever make it in the game.
At the end of the day, theyre the devs and the game lives or dies by their decisions, and all we can do is put opinions out there and hope they do right by us, or leave. Thats about it
The fact is that the majority of players are solo, so balancing the game around the sweatiest of SWFs and content creators with thousands of hours in the game is how you scare new players off. Yes, solo queue has always been bad, but it was winnable. I look at this more as the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm not good enough to carry an entire team, especially if I'm the only one doing gens.
Also, I don't want to just spend the entire game just doing gens. Couple that with bad match making and my mmr continues to sink, I get matched with worse players but halfway decent killers and I'm in a hole I don't think it's possible to get out of. I think a lot of mid to lower skilled players are going to find they're in the same hole and yes for us solo queue is now impossible. Survivors like to win too. Like I'm sorry killers weren't getting 4ks every single match, but this just isn't fun anymore.
Something will need to be done as killer queues are about to get even longer as more and more solo players either leave or decide to play killer so they can at least win a match sometimes.
@@pokerusfreak8194 Not solo queue is not the same, its progressively worse because mmr seems to be seriously broken. There are a lot of new players in lobbies that they shouldn't be in. Maybe because killer wait times are horrendous right now, so the devs are letting anyone queue up. It's not fun when you have thousands of hours and your teammates only have 2 hours game knowledge. Sorry. It's really not the same.

end game is fair game imo. yes it’s annoying but the killers are trying to kill while survivors are trying to survive
@@neuroticsucks I think it’s extremely annoying and I play killer 99% of the time, but I do keep a mean proxy camp handy for a full flashlight squad that circles me like crows when I pick someone up🤞🏽😂
there are also just a ton of people playing the killer role now cause they got buffed, give it a month or two and it'll be back to normal.... which is still much of the same just a bit less of it. Also, agreed that end game is sort of whatever. What else is a killer gunna do when its the end of the match with no objectives left but the survivors? Watch you not leave and teabag in the exit gate until end game collapse forces you out? Both sides do annoying things, thats just people being annoying, as they do

Solo queue needs buffs, like an icon to show who is on a gen, who is in chase, who is on a totem etc... or maybe even just a thing that says "This survivor is on an objective" which is more ambiguous and maybe that way more fair, but it needs to happen to make it playable

Ngl, as a full Killer main who only picked the game back up a few months ago, my first two losses as killer since coming back were *after* the new patch. Before I only got matched with inexperienced players despite consistently wiping them out. I could even run stock killers with no perks/addons and still 4k, which meant I couldn't improve at the game since my mistakes ended up irrelevant in front of people who don't know what skill checks are 😔 I just wish I found more lobbies with people near my skill level who weren't toxic and tried cool strats

I feel like they should add a proximity voice chat for survivors to fix the horrible solo queue problem. It might seem like a huge advantage but factors come into play that could alter how the game goes. Like there’s no guarantee every survivor in a lobby will end up using it, it could result in some teammates arguing, they might get distracted, it’s proximity based so you will have to be near each other to communicate, etc. It can help with coordination though and that’s probably the biggest issue in solo queue. Since it may become a strong feature for survivors then they should buff gen regression perks for killers to balance out the gameplay. I play 60/40 survivor and killer so I would hope there’s a balance. Just an idea, probably never gonna happen though.

This patch has been interesting. I started really playing like 2 rank resets ago, the first one I got to around gold 2 rank on both survivors and killer, but ran out of days before the reset. The next season I got killer to rank 1 iri and survivor to rank 4 iri fairly fast, maybe like a week or so. But this season and with the changes, I got killer to rank 1 iri in like 2 or 3 days, and survivor is still like around silver. Killer games are so easy. I'm guessing the changes just affected killer so damn much, but it feels way easier to play to me with under 200h played. Survivor on the other hand now, oh boy. before my games were fairly normal and the teammates seemed to be pretty much at the same skill level as me, aka very bad. I cant do loops or run the killer well, I just fat finger and all that. Don't get me wrong, I love being chased, even if I get downed fast. But these teammates I've been getting have been very interesting, like spooky said in the video at one point that he got someone dying to the mend thing, I've also gotten plenty of those. A lot of walking survivors just wandering around, taking in the scenery. Chilling in lockers for no apparent reason, while the killer is clearly chasing someone else on the other side of the map, and meanwhile I am on the hook, almost hitting phase 2, and its looking like the other teammates don't even seem to care about me at all. Just having a jaunt, no care in the world. Or being scared shitless of their own shadows at the corners of the map xD
I don't get mad or anything, tilted yes, because of course I would like to rank up and get that sweet, sweet BP. But there is nothing I can do about the matchmaking, other than just deal with it and try my best.
I do hope something gets re-balanced with how things seem to be for everyone right now. Really liking the game, even with the very competitive players you run into in this fairly casual 1v4 game you should be playing for fun and not sweating your ass off for no reason, and getting very very mad. To me that just doesn't make sense, to play a game you are clearly not having fun playing and just raising your own heartrate to critical levels.

Yeah that makes sense to me even though I barely play solo. I'm not gonna say that the game is either sided now though, I think its pretty even.
Then like everyone said, solo has always been shit, so what I want to see now with the next few updates is a shift for solo to be brought in line with swf, so that Killer vs SWF becomes the standard for balance changes... At least thats what makes sense to me. Dont want to nerf swf and punish "playing with your friends", you feel me?
@@flivius1624 one thing I would not mind seeing for survivors, is a basic ping system like in VHS or something. That alone would help solo out a little and not really do anything to swf

All I have to say is they need to balance it out so there's a solo queue and SWF queue. SWF's obviously have a huge advantage and the balancers adjust the game for that, but then it just makes solo queue harder
