I remember seeing a reporter showing a village that didn’t have access to clean water, but there was a secure fence across from the village that had a soda factory gushing with clean water.
Such greed will destroy us and our planet. Sadly, that’s always been the case.

These people can be helped easily, all they need to do is accept a simple gift from china 🤣. Acknowledge that Taiwan does not exist and China will be there tomorrow to build dams and gift clean water for all. It's time we stopped waiting for the government to fix this problem. We need to focus on preparing ourselves.
We need to stop wasting water, and be ready to harvest rain if it comes. Drastically reducing our consumption will delay this, but we need to be prepared to supply our own drinking water.
Also couldn't hurt if we stop buying soda and started carrying a refillable water bottle. :3

Which you will need, as well as a local source of water you can purify. Because governments run on money, manpower, and manipulation. And for the moment, THEY supply our clean water.
Of course, you can't do any of this if you're shot trying to start a revolution. Ffs.

Water may travel miles underground. If we keep using up that water and it dries up, what then? Plus, the ground then becomes unstable, sink holes and roadways etc may be undermined. Pools, toilets, showers, lawns. Problem is most of the water goes through sewer pipes, so it is not getting re-absorbed into the ground. So now dry/scortched earth, then the fires start..... we are over populating the earth and the earth is being destroyed by all our houses, roads, malls, industrial parks, etc. No more surface area to get water into ground. No trees to clean air n water supplies. Yup, we are killing our own habitat.

Your last sentence perfectly illustrates the fundamental disconnect I have found with religious friends on this issue: you see the problem, you understand the gravity of climate change, but, no matter how bad it gets, in the back of your mind you expect an external force to intervene on our behalf. That alarms me because I see it becoming a subconscious “test of faith” and an incentive toward inaction.
I am not accusing you, you’re probably a better environmental steward than me. But I have to think this is a big reason why we haven’t collectively overcome the social inertia to address the problem.

I vaguely remember waaaaaaaay back in the day in the Philippines when we had to ration water… but I don’t think there was a drought. I can only imagine what this is like for the people. Seeing that reservoir … one kind of thinks they were given advance warning - and then you look at what’s happening here in the US… advance warning - but what are we doing about it?

Has anyone checked near the southern border the Nestle plant bottling water to sell mostly to the Japanese? They are by legal agreements taking way much more aka stealing. And the mexican gangs so rightfully upset they are going in and stealing the water for self survival...as for water conservation in my home, am buying a sink over the toilet lid...advised my daughter in her new rental to maybe send the kids out to pee on the tree and rosebushes. Am told it is ok to do this even with produce. Provides valuable nutrients and minerals plus water. Trick is not to pee on the plant part to be consumed and not to be on meds. Peeing inside a bucket to transport to the plants can also be done.. Maybe this is why many years ago, boys were taught to pee standing up often on a bush or tree?

I grew up in Australia during one of the worst national droughts that lasted from the late 90's well into the mid to late 2000s, in some regions well into the 2010s.
During that time, you certainly realize how much we took water for granted, as there were gradually heavier and heavier water restrictions put in place. No watering lawns, at later stages that also covered gardens. Sprinklers were banned. Couldn't top up your pool, or replace the water. Could only wash your car between 4pm - 7am. Eventually that became 7pm to 7am and only with a bucket. Showers were limited to about 3 minutes. Baths were strongly advised against. (Though some people still had them). People who used water passed the recommended allowance had multiplers or penalties added to their water bills.
Eventually, measures were put in place to reduce high levels of water consumption. Including the mandatory installation of rainwater tanks in all new houses, toilets that had only half flushes and drew its sources from recycled water. Among others
