@@louroc425 ronaldinho had a couple of excellent years at PSG and barca, and then it was over. Seedorf won his first CL title age 18 at ajax (1995) and was an excellent player at Real madrid and AC Milan for the next 15 years after he left the netherlands. You can not compare this to ronaldinhos few magic years. Between 1995 and 2010 seedorf could play for any team in the world.
That era was the best era there will ever be and I'm sad I didn't witness it. My earliest memories are from 2008 EC. I didn't get to watch Ronaldo, Weah, Maldini, Desailly, Seedorf, Van Basten, Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Batistuta, Nesta, Figo, Raul, Cannavaro, Henry and many others play :( I suppose it could have been worse tho. Imagine growing up watching nowadays 'talents'. Bunch of clowns in comparison with earlier era's, especially the defenders.
In my top 5 favourite players of all time. Criminally underrated.

What’s interesting about it is the language is literally just a combination of different languages but it’s unique enough and shares enough features from each that it’s considered in the middle. Most Surinamese people who moved to The Netherlands in his generation (including my mothers side of the family) are entirely capable of speaking a minimum of three languages (Sranan Tongo, Dutch and English) with very little thought to it. It’s a very interesting story in my opinion

You always get the "grumpy old man" label when you say players these days aren't what they were in past. But look at it objectively. Look at the squads of the Champions League contenders from 20 years ago compared to today. There is no contest. The top clubs were awash with incredible players. Now, apart from a few exceptions it's all mediocrities who talk the talk but don't walk the walk.

Precisely as someone from early 2001 I missed the best era of football. At least I witnessed tiki taka but I missed out on so many great teams and individual players like Ronaldo, Van Basten, Weah and the great Brazil squad from 98 till 2006 for example

@@rivolinho I pretty much fully stopped watching football. First I thought it was mainly because of corona because it's so boring to watch games where there's no sound of real fans and camera shots of fans. The only games I have watched since the new season are PSG vs Bayern Munich and Sevilla vs Dortmund because I believed they would be fun to watch. The level has become so low that only the first two clubs I mentioned are worthy to watch. I have become a bigger F1 fan than football fan over the years. Football is only becoming worse. The golden era of football was about 20-25 years ago for sure.
