      Thank you. My super fat is 5% and I use a water to lye ratio of 2:1. If you have any other questions or would like to see a video on these things let me know.
      Sure I can make an activated charcoal bar. Look for it towards the end of this month.

    If you dont want to use palm oil, what would you substitute that with

    • @blackhands301
      @blackhands301  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Coconut oil serves a similar purpose so you could remove the palm oil, keep the remaining ingredients, and run it through a soap Calculator to get the new measurements. Are you familiar with how to use a soap calculator?

    If I what to use only coconut oil (25%) and olive oil (75 %), how to calculate the quantity of water and Na OH?

    • @blackhands301
      @blackhands301  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use soapcalc.net. For a 2.5 pound recipe with 25% coconut oil and 75% olive oil with a 38% water to lye solution, the water would be 15.20 ounces and the lye would be 5.60 ounces. If you wanted to use a water discount then the lye amount would remain the same, however, the water would be 11.20 ounces. Let me know how it turns out.

    Can you substitute out the palm oil ? with more of either of the other by adding more of one? I would love to try this asap. Thanks for all your info!!

    • @blackhands301
      @blackhands301  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can give you a palm free recipe to try asap. Do you have cocoa or shea butter? Those items would add to the hardness just as well as palm oil. I’ll post it on a few minutes

    • @blackhands301
      @blackhands301  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Castor 5% or 2 ounces, coconut oil 35% or 14 ounces, olive oil 60% or 24 ounces. Water is 11.54 ounces and lye is 5.71 ounces. This is the recipe for 2.5 pound mold. Keep in the mold for 24 hours. If you don’t have sodium lactate it will be a little soft but you can still cut it. Good luck and please let me know how it turned out.

    How long about does the bar last using that perservative?

    • @blackhands301
      @blackhands301  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The sodium lactate? It’s mainly used to make the bar harder quicker. The bar longevity depends on the use. Used as a hand soap bar I get 3-4 weeks out of it. Used in the shower I get 1-2 weeks out of it.
