I really enjoyed watching your cruise video. I’ve always been curious about the itinerary. We cursed on the sapphire Princess and it’s our favorite of the Princess cruise ships. Thanks for posting your adventure!
Thank you, Richard. So glad you enjoyed my video. All of our excursions were booked from Princess. We just prefer being taken care of and have never been disappointed. The only place we have rented a car was Honolulu. Oahu is an easy island to drive. Traffic is bad at rush hour, but you will probably be in port a long day. Our South Pacific cruise on Princess was wonderful and I am sure yours will be too! Happy sailing.
Dear Molly, thanks again for your reply. We are leaving at the end of the month. We heard that the mosquitoes could be a problem. Did you encounter any on your voyage? How was the weather at port and the roughness of the sea? We are getting very excited! Sincerely, Richard
Hi Richard, happy to hear you are sailing to the beautiful South Pacific soon. As for your question, we cannot remember encountering any mosquitoes at all. I know they suggested we carry bug spray, and we always do. The weather in ports and at sea was beautiful for us. The captain kept us out of the path of several storms around Fiji. I think they had a heavy rain the day before in Suva and some of the roads on the other side of the island were closed. A little afternoon rain is common, especially in Hawaii. We always carry packs of disposable rain ponchos. We also carry a ship wash rag and a tiny bar of soap in a zip lock bag to wipe our face and hands in the heat. You are going to have a great trip. Enjoy!
Thanks! We love sea days filled with a routine of a variety of good food and pampering service, relaxing and walking the decks, playing trivia, attending cultural programs, learning about the people and places we visit. There were daily craft sessions, ukulele classes, choir practice, Bingo and game shows. Something for everyone. A floating, all-inclusive resort at sea. Long cruises with many days at sea allow for a sense of community and friendships to develop. We love it!
Dear Molly, this is one of best videos I have seen about cruising the South Pacific. We are also doing the 33 day Princess Cruise to the South Pacific. Did you book any of this excursions through Princess? Do you have any knowledge on renting a car at any of these ports? Fa'afetai.
Great video!
Great video of this cruise, thank you. We were considering this one for next year and this helped. Good editing. ☺
