@@lulujac9196 I don’t think she gaf. I’ve seen her correct someone once but I also think she’s not going to split hairs on something they may consider not worth her valuable time to address (again and again). I’ve seen other female judges being called “sir” and they ignore it too just to get through the case.

I honestly fear for this woman's life, protection orders can make the offender go off the rails & commit the unthinkable. Mr. Dukes is clearly obsessed with her & cannot contain himself. I will pray for this woman that she stays safe. Smh

Yeah, I love that after the ***atrociously disgusting*** audio, the guy's lawyer is like, "Uhh, yeah, I'd like a minute to confer with my client..." You know the lawyer, through the whole call was just "OMG! WTF?!?" And hats off to the lady - she wasn't super well spoken in the court (but better than some), but in the phone call, she played it *perfectly* - didn't try to argue with him, just "What's the end game here? Even if everything you say is true, it's still none of your business? How do I get you to leave me alone?"

I was around the aftermath of a victim of abuse, but was unable to help anything in an ALPHA MALE way _(although I did give a statement of what I witnessed when she called the police)._
The guy tried making _her_ seem like the unhinged one *although everything I saw from him was unhinged* _…until the police arrived._
*This lady* around 29:00 has the same tone of fear and *I applaud her for her composure.*

Agree. I thought she had that same tired, slightly scattered, over-all overwhelmed demeanour (I think it's caĺled) as a result of feeling like she's been dealing with feàr of him, and working on this çase as well as she could throughout all of his threats and nonsense. I thought she did a pretty good job of something that just isn't easy. And helď onto her poise pretty well under the circumstances. More than I could. I just didn't go to court on the day my assaulter was tried for my case- and for that of another 14 year old victim of his.

That thank you the lawyer gave after the judge told her she would like her to do guardianship work in her court. 😭 You could hear her appreciation and understanding of what a big compliment that was. And a well deserved one! Kudos to Judge Manning too for not only recognizing what an effective advocate she is, but for calling attention to it. Like ya'll pointed out, some of these cases are rough. And I sincerely believe sometimes a little recognition for a job well done can mean the difference between sticking with it or throwing in the towel to head to an easier field like homicide in New York. 😂 Warmed the cockles of my heart.

The dude that Mike brought on to debate these cases is most definitely NOT an attorney that I would like to be my lawyer!
He's one of those guys who try to be as cool as the guy he's talking with but FAILS miserably. But you gotta give it to Mike for trying to keep it low key as possible.
He likes to think that he knows what's going on, but the more you hear him you can tell he doesn't.

Yes!! A colorful background theme, some flip/fade/revolving slide transitions and case won.
If he had even added the applause effect after each point, it would have bolstered his case significantly.

The first guy applied for 68 jobs and didn’t get anything? He’s FOS. Plus, if he acts like this with the judge, I can imagine his tone when he argues with his ex.

Given the recent furore over on another channel I have to post this and say *thank you* so much for leaving politics out of the frame here.
I think we might agree strongly on most issues and disagree just as strongly on a few--like most human beings! However that is not why I come to this channel. I tune in every day because of your fun presentation and genuinely razor-sharp analysis--plus to see you take the Sov Cits down a notch or two in their pomposity of course!!! I cannot say how refreshing it is to be able to do that without having to worry about defending my position on political issues--plus I simply do not understand American politics, so would likely be left doubly in the cold!!!
Its always nice to see @J Robine Law in the hangout also and I do not think for a moment he meant any harm. But I am glad you gave him a friendly nudge in the right direction. I like all you guys too much to have to start worrying about whether we should be political allies or opponents. Hope to see you _both_ again very soon!

For everyone feeling sorry for the guy not paying support, you need to realize that amounts were set at divorce proceedings. If his circumstances changed, he had a route to pursue relief. He just can't negotiate during the contempt hearing.
