I don't like that the fascia plastic is all rippled with the gloss finish it stands out. One other thing I would mention is though you say buying from Australian company you can ring up if you have dramas. Ec offroad seem to be happy to sell you a screen but offer no support afterwards I've seen numerous posts regarding the older version they sold and the instrument clusters. Other than that i agree it looks like the best version yet no lag and no load time when powered on is a great improvement over the older ones
We definitely need a part 2! How well does wireless android auto work (& wireless carplay) TMPS, did you fix camera button & night driving (does screen have option to dim fully while still playing music) & what version of android does it actually run?
Interesting product but the $2999 price is ridiculous. You can see they've built a big margin into it for all the tech support and returns they're going to have to deal with.

I suspect that because it’s been over 5 months now and Dave hasn’t done a follow up review, he doesn’t recommend this unit, and in his words, “doesn’t want to bag another Aussie company”. I’m waiting for delivery of my new TI-L so I think an interface upgrade to the Nissan head unit will suffice for me, as well as a wood grain delete pre-cut wrap kit from “Signature Auto Styling”. Watched their installation vids for the wrap, excellent tutorial. 🇦🇺
Funny you should say that, I remember watching when it 1st came out & just revisiting now & see he hasn’t mentioned again… looked like the camera select didn’t work, that’s a std feature we like for wheel placement (or the misses parking 🤣)
Install an aftermarket launcher like Nova or similar to improve the experience and provide even more customisation 👍 Had this screen for almost 2 months and absolutely love it!

The only change I can work out is the splash screen has been changed to "ecoffroad". Which, I find hilarious considering ECOFFROAD claim they manufacture the unit and the software, despite it being identical to other products available from china 🤔
Wow $3,000 just to be able get apple car play for better maps, don't think so, will stick with using my Iphone and a car mount, the rest of the Y62 system is not too bad
Totally, I have been trying to source one from USA, but UAE and Phillipines also have the new interior. Seems the issue is Nissan Aus only. I would be happy to pay $3k for a genuine Nissan one.

Looks great. However it doesn’t look simple to operate, like a factory CarPlay or android auto. Far too many things going on. When you were pressing the camera button, was that to get the reverse camera going? Also would of been nice to connect the heated seat controls to the unit and have room for more switches on the bottom. Good luck with it Dave . Look forward to future vids with your thoughts 😉

Thanks for the video. Still failing to understand what ec off road do other than change the splash screen and charge $1500 handling fee for the Chinese products. For their claim that they manufacture it all (including the operating system and gui) in house when it's a direct copy of the Chinese product is a bit sus.

Doing it this weekend. Bought the digital dash, man that's an awesome upgrade. Just because of the exact things you mentioned in the video I didn't buy it from Ali express or Ali baba . If I want support, I have it at my finger tips with EC off-road.
How about car settings function such as calibration of TPMS,Door lock options ,light settings...I didn't see any option..lost the voice command function as well...Any tips

The annoying thing is that the MY24 Patrols in the Middle East have an excellent 12” top mounted screen with Car Play/android etc. not sure why we rely on these knock offs made in 4WD yards

Lol, I wouldn’t base buying a patrol over a cruiser based on head unit upgrade…. We’ve decided against this unit for the moment but still getting a patrol

I just did an upgrade to an Android 9 inch unit in my car. Bought from from Aliexpress $290 to my door, plug and play with excellent fitting fascia. I see the same unit with different fascias being advertised for a huge amount of models and they charge well over $1000.

How are you finding it? Have an outlander hire car atm while my 62 is in DRD getting the Dash bar put on 👍 and even the multimedia unit in that is leaps and bounds above the patrol.
How long on average do you think it would take for someone that hasn't fitted one of these before, would the average Y62 owner be able to do it or should the installation be left to a radio shop tech etc.
This module just look so cheap, definitely would just keep the original console but upgrade a CarPlay chip. Wondering if Nissan release rhd new interior, would y62 s5 be able to fit the factory new console?
It’s not quite right to start the video about how you have the freedom to say whatever you want and give your honest opinion and then not give it… and let us sit thinking you hate it because you haven’t created a follow up. The biggest and most important function, that you said you would test in that video, was hands free. You’re probably doing EC and the viewers a disservice by not allowing EC and us to know what’s wrong with it publicly, so everyone doesn’t get trapped into buying it and ultimately EC can make a better product.
Another piece of overpriced crap. You have to go to university to learn how to navigate the rubbish. The standard one that comes with it works just fine.

I have been looking for something like this for a while. But honestly speaking.. it is giving looks of a cheaply finished chinese unit. Poor button clicks I could hear in the video. I would never put this in my 100k car and make it look cheap

My wife's CX5 has a landscape screen similar to this. It's actually really nice and you get used to it super quickly. The fact that 5 months on Dave hasn't done an updated review tells me more than the landscape screen does.

Saw one in person last week. Screen is bigger in real life than it looks online. It’s a good looking unit

I think it’s going to be pretty good. Sharon rang me mid recording and was all good. When you put the headlights on the screen dims too

Looked these up last night there is no difference it’s just imported and flash upgraded with ECs bits the main unit and software is exactly the same.

I would argue that, they are also running a business in Oz. Warehouse, staff, insurances don’t come for free.

Did the camera button end up working or only when reverse is selected.
Once it went into reverse the camera button worked no problem 👌
