I am quite interested in acquiring a number of these books - especially the technical dexterity book and the modern day studies. Now, if I can only find them. Most are out of print. I haven't checked Ebay but, I'm not hopeful.

I just picked up my H. Klose celebrated method for the clarinet book, and im excited to see it in here! This means it was definitely worth the money. Im looking forward to becoming even better with this book

What do you think of the David Hite Melodious and Progressive studies book??

I have a student learning from it now, and I used it as well when I was learning. It’s not as popular as the rose etudes, or beginner friendly, but it’s a great book!

For me the Rubank book exposes my shortcomings that my other books don't catch. I think because it is not concerned with being melodic it uses intervals I am not accustomed to seeing and they throw me. I have to read the notes and not play by ear. I used Rubank in school band fifty years ago so there is some nostalgia there.

The best is when they give you a pattern and then it suddenly changes notes once you get the hang of it.

@@TheClarinetSlayer Yup. I was just doing a study with fourths and suddenly I went what the hey, and sure enough he threw a couple of thirds in there at the end. I play Rubank first and then everything else is predictable and easy and patterny.

Helllo , clarinet will be my fourth instrument in pecking order of my availability of practice time, i dont dream of being a wordlclass player, i just want to be able to play pieces and have a long term goal of atleast completing trinity college london grade exams,so considering this if you could suggest me 1/2 books that you recommended me to buy.

So I’m a little confused because this entire video I explain and recommend books. I also did a full video on etude books. I don’t know your level so I’d say start with some books for fundamental learning and then move on to an etude book.
Without knowing your playing level at all I can’t recommend a book, so listen to what I say about each book and based on what your needs are, make a decision from there.
