  • Since Sir Keir Starmer became Prime Minister, a record number of migrants have crossed the Channel in a single day, the Home Office revealed on Tuesday.
    Home Office figures show that 427 people made the journey in seven boats on Monday, bringing this year’s provisional total to 14,759.
    Over 1,000 migrants have arrived in the UK since Labour's election victory less than two weeks ago.
    So far, the 2024 total is 12% higher than the 13,200 recorded by this time last year and up 1% from 2022's 14,554.
    Last year saw 29,437 migrants arriving in the UK, a 36% drop from the record 45,774 in 2022.
    Jeremy Kyle speaks with political commentator Andy Williams and Talk presenter and political commentator Russell Quirk.

      europe is getting islamised every single day for one generation now. Infact the muslims have also formed a political party whose members are from different countries of europe and this islamic political parties objective is to gather muslim votes in one place and negotiate with political parties of countries at the time of election. See that is how labour party won in U.k. and that is how left wingers won in france elections. Btw one of the agendas of this political party is to ensure appointing muslim leaders in the national parties. Google search about that islamic party and you will know.

      Until it changed, Benefits were increased for every child. So if you had 15 you got paid for all 15 until they reached 18, left school or started employment. Some migrants bring into the country their wife and another three 'mistresses/wives' who keep having children. South Asians are guilty of this. The change only affected an additional 3rd child etc. So if you have 6 already and have another, you still get paid for the first 6 but nothing for the 7th.

      @@normaanderson8563 it’s in a document called Submission to DWP Minister (2006) page 2 paragraph 11. Assuming this is still an up to date document it states that in a polygamous marriage the claimant gets £174.05 for a couple then £60.00 for EACH additional spouse. Adjust for how much the rates have increased from 2006 to 2024.

    The one aspect we never hear about is the type of immigrants. Most of aren't concerned with decent hard working Canadians, Australians, New Zealander's, Danes etc immigrating here - people like us with similar cultures who can easily assimilate. But there are people of certain cultures and from certain countries and regions who cannot or will not assimilate. Our immigration policy should be honest about this. I know Geert Wilders has proposed banning all immigration from M**lim countries and I think that's a good idea.

    I do urban design and one thing that stands true is capacity/balance and city limits. It doesn't matter which side you do or do not vote ie, Labour, Reform, Conservative for It is an undeniable fact that immigration in this country is skyrocketing. It's not good for the economy it's a mathematical fact long term.
    When it comes to benefits it should only be for people born in the UK. Aka people with mental health, people on PIP who are legally allowed to work if they can dependent on thier illness and situation, children and vulnerable parents, the homeless and the general public in need. The number of homeless families including children in this country has now rised above the 400 thousand mark simply because we're not building enough residential, commercial and educational facilities for the people whom shouldn't be homeless but are due to lack of options. Local councils are declining, public services like buses are declining, the NHS is struggling there's obvious problems. One of those problems is the capacity to facilitate our own people on top of millions of undocumented people taking up our public and civil services.

    Very easy solution. Leave the ECHR on the Monday, then on the Tuesday confirm to all countries that every part of the ECHR will be upheld by Britain except the article restricting us to immediately return all immigrants to where they have come from. Secondly, the criteria required for immigrants applying for British citizenship needs to be tightened up dramatically. Only 26% of immigrants applying for citizenship in France are accepted, in the UK it almost 90% !! No wonder immigrants want to apply in the UK.

The argument that they come to work and contribute is utter nonsense. We don't need them or the low/unskilled just because Brits don't want to do the jobs, I'm sick of hearing that as if it's an acceptable reason, it's NOT. If you don't contribute when there is no reason for you not to, then you should get nothing, why should others keep them and why should we keep importing more and more just because people are too up themselves and think work is beneath them?

    Uk this is our moment to stop moaning and start acting. 80% didn't vote for Labour but Starmer rigged votes to win GE. Labour needs to go soon and there is going to have government no confidence vote. A majority of MPs (175 members) must vote for a motion of no confidence for it to be successful. An individual minister who loses a confidence vote must resign. If a prime minister loses a no-confidence vote, the entire government must resign. Labour will be forced out of power soon for rigging votes. Labour is a disaster

    Train the young people of this country to work, with training courses, then they might get a job and be able to buy a house get married and be able to bring home grown children into this world, responsible people like to know that they have a job with good wages to bring children into this world they do not want to be in a poverty trap. Most employers just want cheap labour but soon the cheap labour will want a higher wages because they can't live on low wages either, then they will get rid of them and bring in more cheap labour from other countries.

    I see absolutely no reason to have any immigration. A sovereign country should aim to be self sufficient in workers, food as many raw materials as possible. Traded goods are the only things that should pass through borders apart from bona fide visitors/ tourists/businessmen. Asylum should be granted only on fully verifiable grounds and be a temporary basis; when the problems cease, the asylum seekers return home. Never issue nationality.status.,

    The guy who compares us to Australia fails to point out that their boat people were coming from over a 1000 away miles to get there, it also had a extremely well funded legal agreement with Papa New Guinea to take the migrants, so we are 30 miles away and we don't have any agreement with the EU as Boris refused to accept the EU offer to keep it. United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea creates an obligation to rescue anyone in danger at sea. Article 98 obliges states to require all masters of a ship to help anyone in danger at sea, so long as it does not also cause serious danger to the rescuing ship. It requires vessels to: Assist anyone found in danger at sea; Proceed to rescue people in distress, if informed of their need for help and if this may reasonably be expected of the vessel;
    Assist and follow procedures in the event of a collision.
    These obligations apply to:
    A state’s own waters (the territorial sea);
    any search and rescue region beyond the territorial waters (an area set up by agreements between states to manage search and rescue operations);
    international waters (which can include search and rescue regions).
