Hopefully fan will stay quiet. I’ve found model cement works the best. The old original model cement. It tends to melt the plastic together. Super glue has failed me so many times.
I was selling Fords when they decided to stop making the Bronco. It was a sad day. Lost many a customer. I am glad to see this beauty in the hands of someone that loves her!
With a Ford sliding pole shoe starter, you technically don't have to disconnect the battery to change the starter. There isn't power down there unless the relay on the fender is activated. It is still a good idea so someone who isn't paying attention doesn't jump in and try to crank the vehicle while you are working on it.
This is why I love you guys, you deal with real world aggravation on cars, you fix what you have, no high dollar parts that know one can afford, awesome video ❤️👍😁
Dropped a starter or two on my face. Learned to move head rather quickly when things come flying out! Love Aaron's comment. "Let's see if we can start a fire." In the end the old girl sounds pretty good. Thanks for Sharing!
Problem with using lube, is that it's only a short term solution. Since it's winter time, more than likely you will drive that a lot. Within about 3 months, maybe less, you will end up doing that all over again. Your best option is to just replace the fan.
That's what I was thinking. Self lubricated bronze bushings only last so long. And to fight it so long, to put it back in??? No way it's not getting a better replacement.
I can appreciate you guys always being so upbeat and happy go luck... but we all know no one is that happy ALL THE TIME... I think a lot of us would appreciate a little reality/honesty sometimes...your portrayal of the perfect/always happy go lucky life is a little unrealistic...!!! Other than that... love your show...!!!
I realze I should have bought a first gen Bronco after high school when they were EVERYWHERE in my area (Yeah, Im friggin' old ) cuz now, cant touch one at the prices they go for. Great that your fixing the old girl up! Todd Konoske the retired trucker.
My best friend from high school which goes back to the mid 70's lives in McKinney Texas. He called me this morning and said it's about 6 deg .above zero and he's got plenty of snow to go with it. But at least he still has electricity. Unlike last year when they had none.
I live right next to MCK and i didnt have even a flicker of power for 4 days. Luckily i grew up in chicago and knew to close off rooms etc to keep heat in, but no gas in neighborhood, not much food to eat cold, no firewood. And i shut off water at street to prevent pipes freezing. Pretty miserable 4 days (esp because not a flashlight in the joint, my kids keep stealing them and losing them, breaking them, or running out batteries) This year i had a ton of wood, butane stove, plenty of cold and easy to cook meals, and several battery banks for cellphone. I ran mine out working because in the 17yrs ive lived in my home and 22yrs in dfw ive never gone an hour without power. Not at all expecting what happened, but ill be damned if im caught pants down with kids to take care of again!
That red looks like Ford code M1515 .. Rangoon Red .. My absolute favorite Ford red ever! My 1962 Fairlane 260HiPo was Rangoon Red and was my first going to school/work car.. Real Sweet Car.. Funny how a simple color brings back such great memories! As for your Bronc.. WAY TO COOL!
Sounds like a dead spot on the starter motor. Word of warning, when you are working on battery terminals, while wearing rings, it is advisable to wear gloves or tape over the rings, in 47 years of working in the motor trade, I have seen a number of people who have shorted between the positive terminal and ground with a spanner and the current melted the ring into their finger. Great video as always.
Shoot i hit the send button too soon. The reason Im so interested in your Bronco is that I spent a number of decades ysing a 67 Bronco as my daily diver and primary entertainment Sometimes I cussed t it, sometimes it bailed me out of trouble. Thats why I feel at least a little qualified to hrow out some suggestions about Betty boop for yo to consider as you see fit. My first suggestion is, now that your Bronco takes you places and you are starting o explore climbing rocks and fording rivers it is high time for you to have a spare tire and a good place to carry it on Betty and a high lifter jack so there is a way to change a tire in the middle of a river or while leaning abainst a hillside on a rock filled trail. So I suggest getting a fifth tire and wheel just like the other four. That gives you the best chance of getting back out of the kinds of laces that can push a tire off of a rim. Forme the best place to carry a spare in a Bronco that doesnt have a ton of extra cargo room is the stock tire carrier that latches to the tailgate and swings on hinges that mount outside the tailgate on the body. The stock way the tire rack attaches to the spare i9s complee junk however and may not even fi a big tire. But the swinging part has a perfect spot to weld a on the end of an old axle or similar so that any wheel with a bronco bolt pattern can be bolted to the ire rack. Wild Horses 4x4 has all the parts except the swinging rack. and maybe the backing support plates for hinges Tomsoffroad in Medford Oregon has the swinging part of the tire rack for 300 bucks *which is apparently officially called a Factory Style Tire Carrier Mounting Loop* as well as backing plates if needed.. Toms is a good outfit IMHO and WildHorse could confirm or refute that for ya. Last but not least Betty needs a hi lift brand jack.. Accept no substitutes. Wild Horses has a 48 inchlft model that is big enough for betty .and a 122 dollar isolator that will keep he jack from rattlingand driving you slowly mad over time. Yoll need to figure out where its best to mount i9t in Betty and figure it out. I welded some althread onto my rollbar and used two big wing nuts to mount mine But Im not as clever as I think I am so there is probably better mounting ways. Anyhow thats my first suggestion. Next will maybe be how to deal with your rear driveshaft and pini9on angle and rear springs Damn Im opinionated , pushy, and litter up the place with walls of text Sorruy
You folks always cheer me up. I took a break from polishing the inside of my hood scoop and there you were. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
I love that old Bronco! That old heater ductwork is exactly the same as the old duct that was in my old 68 F-100 Custom Cab. And mine was so bad and falling apart so I just took it all out and let the heat just blow into the floorboard, and it still warmed the truck just fine without it. Glad to see y'all got the heat working, It sucks to be cold while out taking a ride and trying to enjoy yourself.
All heater core fan fixes are a pain I think and after market let’s are just a step worse. Enjoyed the video it was good to see our old friend Aaron more this video, we have missed his smiling face lately. You guys are a great team.
Bronco fixed. Great little video. I had that same issue with my heater fan . Spraying it for helped a while but ended up replacing it down the road. Thanks, Emily and Aaron, for sharing the video. Have a great weekend 👋
From my 2 years in Austin during the early '70s I recall that Texas can get quite nippy. A friend from Amarillo told me, "There's nothing between the panhandle and the North Pole but a barb wire fence that broke down 10 years ago."
Great job you two. Love seeing the oldies running and living on. Hope to see you guys back up here in Hot Springs this year. I had a bad heater fan in my Dodge Ram 2500 a few years back when I lived in Texas. Lived with it until I had no defroster. I feel your pain.
IIts me again. with another suggestion to make Betty Boop proud and happy and more durable and ledss likely to compress discs in your spines. First lthe durable and happy part which will lead to the other good stuff. The aftermarket rear driveshaft that Betty has , withthe double cardon joint at the fromt, a splinedsliding shaft in he middle and a u joint at the pinion is perfect. But the alignment of that driveshaft needs elp. If you adjust the angle of the pinion (by rotatig the rear end) until the pinion is 2 degrees below the angle of the center part of the driveshaft, then Betty will never again vibrate or complain or rumble at you ever again from the driveshaft. And the next time you replace those threeU joijnts will be he last tim,e you replace thm and you can will that driveshaft to your great grandkids.. The three common ways to adjust this are A) Cut the spring pecrh pad off of the driveshaft housing and then weld it back n at the correct angle for driveshaft alignment. B) install tapered shims between your leaf springs and the sprig perch pad. C)Install different length spring shackles (In Bttyscase, longer ones) to adjust driveshaft alignmen.t . Choice A is the best way if and only if you are sure that you are done hordsingaround with lifting and lowering and sprigc swapping and adding or deleting contraptions toc ontrol torque induce spring wrap.. You are not at that point yet with Ms Boop. Her ride quality can be a lot better. Option B is the option most people would use and Wild horses offers 6 degree shims made for the purpose at reasonable cost Most good spring shops can pr5ovide shims in other increments of angle if 6 degrees increments wont work for Betty. BUT...(dang it that is never good when somebody capitalizes "but lke hat is it?) tapered shims neeed or at least ought to be heled in place between spring aned spring perch pad bay a pin that goes trough holes in both. If you just squeeze on a tapered shim using the U bolts that mount the springs the4r5e is a good chance it will eventually shimmy out of there and cause way more bad and sudden problems than it ever fixed. On Betty Boop Bronco the place that is normally used for tapereed shims is occupied by a budget 4 and a half inch lifting block. Above the block are what look like the original springs that Betty was wearing when she left the assembly line in Detroit half a century ago . It may or may not have provisions for holding shims there and to find out you need to take it apart and look. More on this after option C. Option C, the longer shackles would be a really good option for a person who had , for instance, spings that were too stiff and wanted a more compliant ride. Option C wouold also be good rfor someone who want6eed a bit more lift forground clearance or entrance/exit angles or for aesthics. Option C however is limiteed. Shackles can get too long if t6hey start to interfere wi9th other bit of the truck when spings are compresseed or extendeed. And Wild horse doesnt offer other lengths besides stock shackles. That sounds promising but Bettys springs are probably not too stiff from having too much spring rate when she was built. Bettys springs are probably acting a lot like thy belong on a Peer5bilt because they are worn out and almost certainly missing bits and binding. Not from abuse or mkisuse , just from normal wear and tear and age and corrosion erosion..Leaf spring packs have to have lefs that slide over each other o work right. To make that happen the wspring akers add a oittle colearance n spring keepers and use slip-pery paints on springs and add thin plast6ic or teflon pads between leaves. As the oleaves slidee over eachother and collect abrasive rust and gr5ime qand stuff they eventually wear out and wspit out tyhe slippery parts and eventually sort ofrust wel themselves into a bind that acts liike one big thick leaf that god himself coud barely flex. Which is bad for ride quality. To add to the pr5oblems that old eaf springpacks have, they act like really strong tick sigle eafs in the middle but on the ends where they moujnt they are still wimpy compared o the much larger loads they haveto take after the middle quits slidig. Eventually the ends crack and break. It is possible to rebuild spring packs and replace the plastic sliders and clean out alll the stuff that is binding them. Bu before goingto that much trouble to learn how and then r5ebuild sprigs so they are closer to new again i s is a good idea to at least dye check or magnaflux them for cracks.. Or5 buy brand new spring packs that are already at the lift height you want and which dont use silly 4 nd a half inch tall old blocks where tapered shims need to go. A luck wold have it WildHores just happens to sell new springs that lift elderly broncos and broncettes 4 and ahalf iches and come with new polyuretane bushings or springs and shackes for around 500 bucks. And Betty Boop Bronco probably has a birtday soon. Maybe she deserves a present?
As Derek would say that CRC lube made the blower motor factree again. Good fis Aaron. What about the rotted duct pipe? Haha he couldn't resist snapping Emily with the piece of hose. Good job guys. A team effort.
Great video on your old Bronco, just curious why you guys did not go through the glove compartment while looking for removal screws? Thanks for sharing and stay safe 👍👍
Great video. You’re only out the cost of the starter. A little time consuming on the heater, but that has to make you feel good in getting it fixed. Love you guys. God Bless.
Good job getting the annoying problems fixed! There are some great 2 part plastic adhesives available now. I've only used the 3M brand but Locktite makes some and I'm sure others do too. Handy to have around.....
Hi. I was looking for ideas about Ford 9 inch housings suitable to base a DIY IRS idea Im hatching and found your video on Roxy's IRS. Then I got pulled into th rabbit hole, discoverd yoyr Betty Boop Bronco and binge watched all or nearly all of the BBB content. Which is great. I think you both are great He is calm and has a deep understanding of fixing most surpris attaccks from broken or contrary vehicles and she is nearly always bubbly and positive and energetic and mostly honest about the god and bad of products and people. A antastic team. Anyhoo I didnt start writing this o say hanks or blow sunshine up your resses. I wanted to make a few suggestions for a few future epsodes about the Bronco that I think might improve her for you or prevent some problems that might be had when dealing with a fifty year old truck that might be tooling around miles and miles away from the placs a tow truck can go. Iv got maybe a dozen suggestions And since wild horses is a sponsor of yours Ill ry to mention their products when practicable.
Found out about you guys when Emily and Derek from VGG were taking the kids for rides around the track.I binge watched your channel for almost a week, finally got caught up.Love this channel.Right up there with VGG and Riding with Alex Taylor.
Come on!! We have snow to shovel and ice to melt! Thanks VGG! Try E6000 glue next time. Somewhat rubbery but holds well. Well done!! Aaron, if some is good more is better and lots more is best method 😂
Drill a small hole in the air box pointing towards the motor so if it starts squealing again just shoot a bunch of that spray in there til it stops lol. Only us texans would come up with that plan. Im from the suburbs of houston born and raised. Houston area has changed alot since i was born in 1969.
Finley certainly wasn't a fan of the crappy sounding fan. Great to see Betty Boop up and running again. As always another enjoyable video. Keep 'em coming.
Pull that starter solenoid cover off and flip the copper disc contact over or you can take a non ferrous file to it and get rid of the carbon boogers. Job done you have a spare starter for the Bronco.
You guys are awesome. We just started to binge watch you all. And I’m in love with Finley!! Any chance you’ll be doing some T-shirts with Finley on them? I would totally rock his swag!!
Aw, thanks so much!! So glad you’re here! We need to get on the apparel game, we haven’t done well with all that and we have a lot of requests for gear! That should be a goal for this year 🥰 Sure appreciate your kind comment and watching all our adventures! ♥️
Yes the hamster is in its happy place no more screaming to submit. You are taking a chance parking Roxy underneath a known British Leyland with built in leaks from the factory as long as it leaks it has oil no need to lift the bonnet " sorry Hood".
Looks like the same motor as my AC unit in my 57 Chevy Sport Coupe, Murray PM786. go get one as your has a bad bussing on the shaft. The oil will only last for a short bit. Good luck.
Good video would’ve replaced motor if it’s still available the spray is probably only going to be a temporary fix,I’ve been there. Keep up the great work.
Hopefully fan will stay quiet. I’ve found model cement works the best. The old original model cement. It tends to melt the plastic together. Super glue has failed me so many times.
Yea'll need to get back up here to meet up with Finnigan again soon! while my lawn season hasn't started up yet
Been there done that--the joys of working on old vehicles. ;)
Cyclone gone now a giggle and a big SMILE from an Aussie in Mauritius thanks guys.
I was selling Fords when they decided to stop making the Bronco. It was a sad day. Lost many a customer. I am glad to see this beauty in the hands of someone that loves her!

glad you are only having nippy days up here in newbrunswick canada we have 30 inches of snow to deal with after 2 noreaster storms oh joy!
This is why I love you guys, you deal with real world aggravation on cars, you fix what you have, no high dollar parts that know one can afford, awesome video ❤️👍😁

Emily is a unique person, she is actually that happy all the time. -Aaron
Old Ford pull shoe starters have no power to them unless in the cranking mode, so no need to disconnect the battery.
Love your energy, greetings from the Netherlands
I realze I should have bought a first gen Bronco after high school when they were EVERYWHERE in my area (Yeah, Im friggin' old ) cuz now, cant touch one at the prices they go for. Great that your fixing the old girl up! Todd Konoske the retired trucker.
You do know there’s a torque spec on those starter bolts? Uneven torque on the bolts can mess up the teeth on flywheel or snap the starter flange
Awe, the look on that poor dog's face. So cute.
My best friend from high school which goes back to the mid 70's lives in McKinney Texas. He called me this morning and said it's about 6 deg .above zero and he's got plenty of snow to go with it. But at least he still has electricity. Unlike last year when they had none.

That little Bronco turned out pretty darn nice. You two do awesome work.
That bronco is better looking than the new ones
I know I say this every time but ‘I love this Bronco’!!! Y’all do awesome work! Thanks for the content.
I enjoy watching the two of you work on all you toys thanks for the good times.
That intro was adorkable.
Darn that starter is huge.
Yeah that was a dead bearing in that fan motor, I'd pran to change that at some stage.
Always enjoy your channel. Love the Bronco, love the Yorkie ! " Peace out Homie", that was great.
Excellent job, now you can have some warmth on those chilly TX winter mornings! Thank you for a cool video!
"I like fishing so" pssshhhhhhht 😂😂
"Its' rebuilt" ... LOVE IT !!!
Shoot i hit the send button too soon. The reason Im so interested in your Bronco is that I spent a number of decades ysing a 67 Bronco as my daily diver and primary entertainment Sometimes I cussed t it, sometimes it bailed me out of trouble. You folks always cheer me up. I took a break from polishing the inside of my hood scoop and there you were. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Awesome guys. That starter was almost as big as Emily. Always entertaining and informative. Heat is always good when you need it.
I’ve had broken heaters on very cold days in some of my earlier cars .when they’re fixed it’s like a new addition to your life 😄
It gets cold in Texas?
I love that old Bronco! That old heater ductwork is exactly the same as the old duct that was in my old 68 F-100 Custom Cab. And mine was so bad and falling apart so I just took it all out and let the heat just blow into the floorboard, and it still warmed the truck just fine without it. WOW...what an awesome bronco...
I'll take an older bronco versus the new broncos...
Also, I pulled a starter that was going bad on my old 4Runner - pulled it apart, cleaned it up, lubed it, and slammed it back in. Worked like a charm.
The bronco gets better all the time glad you guys got heat now good job.
All heater core fan fixes are a pain I think and after market let’s are just a step worse. Enjoyed the video it was good to see our old friend Aaron more this video, we have missed his smiling face lately. You guys are a great team.
I thank you for all your info and hopefully you all keep warm now.
Love that bronco! Working on your own vehicles can be frustrating but this time you didn't have to replace the whole thing
Great job👍🏎
Love the bronco! And your enthusiasm! Glad I'm not the only one who gets aggravated while working on my old stuff! Keep up the great work 👍
So fun watching you guys! Gr8 job getting her heated up and starting!!!
Just a "HELLO" and thanks for the video, Always looking for the next one.
Love the Bronco awesome job they definitely squeezed 15p in 5 pound bag under the dash
Thats a Good looking old Bronco. Them and the 79 pickups are the only fords I like...LOL Great Video..
Bronco fixed. Great little video. I had that same issue with my heater fan . Spraying it for helped a while but ended up replacing it down the road. Thanks, Emily and Aaron, for sharing the video. Have a great weekend 👋
You two are so damn good at creating scenarios…….and new views….and totally good content. Thanks from Denmark
Always enjoy your videos. You two are a joy to watch and keep up the great videos.
I'm holding my breath! Hurry!
Good & Entertaining video Emily And Aaron you luck out with the heater you look like your having fun working together
That intro (you v. Aaron) was friggin' gold.
Lol!!! Oh, the contrast 😂😂😂

Hi Guys, love the Bronco, great job!
Love the Bronco and you guys, Stay safe great video and channel
I got hose!!
Best label ever...👍
As Derek would say that CRC lube made the blower motor factree again. Good fis Aaron. What about the rotted duct pipe? Haha he couldn't resist snapping Emily with the piece of hose. Good job guys. A team effort.
Great video on your old Bronco, just curious why you guys did not go through the glove compartment while looking for removal screws? Thanks for sharing and stay safe 👍👍
Now that’s thinking with the dip stick of the Bronco Aaron haha…..Good team work guys!
you all are a great couple cant wait to see more ellie videos
Well done, all the time I was saying check the vacuum line to the control.

I love that bronco!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Come on!! We have snow to shovel and ice to melt! Thanks VGG!
Try E6000 glue next time. Somewhat rubbery but holds well.
Well done!! Aaron, if some is good more is better and lots more is best method 😂
Absolutely beautiful! I think I'm in 💕
Love the way u work togethrer
Luv u guys working together as one to fix ure cars keep up the good work 👊
Drill a small hole in the air box pointing towards the motor so if it starts squealing again just shoot a bunch of that spray in there til it stops lol. Only us texans would come up with that plan. Im from the suburbs of houston born and raised. Houston area has changed alot since i was born in 1969.
Well Done, starters are a lot heavier than they look and i learned a little something about the vac. system.
Finley certainly wasn't a fan of the crappy sounding fan. Great to see Betty Boop up and running again. As always another enjoyable video. Keep 'em coming.
Great video guys!!
New brakes for the Monaro! veery niiice.
You guys need the magic of super glue and baking soda.Super strong!
Pull that starter solenoid cover off and flip the copper disc contact over or you can take a non ferrous file to it and get rid of the carbon boogers. Job done you have a spare starter for the Bronco.
Love this channel.
Another great video guys 👍👍🇨🇱
You guys are awesome. We just started to binge watch you all. And I’m in love with Finley!! Any chance you’ll be doing some T-shirts with Finley on them? I would totally rock his swag!!
Aw, thanks so much!! So glad you’re here! We need to get on the apparel game, we haven’t done well with all that and we have a lot of requests for gear! That should be a goal for this year 🥰
Sure appreciate your kind comment and watching all our adventures! ♥️
Awesome Video. Love the channel!
I was waiting for that CRC to get all over Aaron's face when he hit the switch! You two are awesome
Great job! Had a feeling the fan just needed some lube.
Good job as always!
Hello flying Sparks garage how are you two I love that Bronco
Yes the hamster is in its happy place no more screaming to submit. You are taking a chance parking Roxy underneath a known British Leyland with built in leaks from the factory as long as it leaks it has oil no need to lift the bonnet " sorry Hood".
I kept saying Aaron spray it. Aaron Spray It. And you did and now you're wearing it. Good job guys
Looks like the same motor as my AC unit in my 57 Chevy Sport Coupe, Murray PM786. go get one as your has a bad bussing on the shaft. The oil will only last for a short bit. Good luck.
Great job guys
Another enjoyably video.
Nice job you guys are a great team.
Beautiful
Good video would’ve replaced motor if it’s still available the spray is probably only going to be a temporary fix,I’ve been there. Keep up the great work.
