The original Impossible Mission remains one of the C64's most iconic games. The graphics, animation and puzzle design really elevated the game amongst its peers, which is all the more impressive when you consider it came out in 1984.
Four years later, Epyx decided that sequel was in order. However, Novotrade, a Hungarian-based developer handled the development, with Epyx on publishing duties.
The end result is a game that remains very close to the original. The player enters the secret lair of Elvin Atombender once again,
rummaging through furniture, closets and anything else lying around in search of puzzle pieces required to shut off Atombender's latest doomsday device. The lair is divided into a series of towers, and the only way to move to another tower is to discover the code to the security door located in each service corridor. Along the way, you can find safes that contain pieces of the code that can be used to defuse the warhead which Elvin has primed and ready to launch.
While much of the game is familiar, the developers have expanded both the type and quantity of gadgets available to deal with the various robotic minions and security bots patrolling the lair. Bombs and mines can be used to blow up bots, leaving holes in a platform through which the player can fall. The bomb is also required to blow open the large, green safes containing puzzle pieces needed to access the launch control room, so make sure you always have one available.
The one major difference this time around is there's no brain-melting puzzle at the end of the game to confound you. When you have enough puzzle pieces, use your portable tape recorder to play back the special tune that unlocks access to the final room.
Despite being incredibly tough, I think Impossible Mission II is a worthy sequel. The graphics look great and the gameplay holds up well. Some people argue that the original is the better game, and while this sequel isn't a huge evolution, I reckon it's just as good.

I have another fun title request to add to the list if interested.
The game is "Golf" for the Nintendo Entertainment System. A simple, bare basic game with no music. But concentrates on what it intends to offer great enjoyment by playing the fine sport. Plus we always would wonder if the players were either Luigi in White and Mario in red. 8^)

Classic! The Tape puzzle was the most annoying to put everything together, never able to finish this game due that.

I had the Apple II version, was never able to beat it.
Oh, so the idea is to forget the one remaining tower.
This cannot possibly be the C64 version, the C64 version looked 10 times better than this.
Alot of youtubers use emulators instead of real hardware, that's why it's so pixilated.

@@power2084 On my C64C it does not look like this. Emulators are usually used since they are more easy to capture video from.

Wow, I never saw this one, just the first one and now I know why: This one is horrible, much worse than the original in pretty much every way, wow, what happened with the graphics? They got trashed and made much worse, even though this game came out 4 years after the first one.
