I already have the neo and a mini 3. The only reason I would consider getting this is because of D-log M. But for that, I'd probably save up a little more and get a mini 4 pro. I guess it's still early, I want to see more of this drone before I make a final decision.
My perspective as a newbie to using a drone in a public place, and having used the Neo about three times now in my local area, and previously only having basic toys, or knock off DJI lookalikes that were a PITA to get off the ground, footage ropey, and bought essentially knowing they’d be broken or lost and so … hey ho. So this neee form factor of using enclosed props. I think it’s a gamechanger. Exposed props are going to be viewed as unsociable as smoking in a lift. Rocking up anywhere in a public space and setting up an exposed prop drone … it’s going to freak SOME people out. But this thing , the NEO , or the FLIP, well it’s more like a stray frisbee if it hits you. There’s just no perceived risk of drawing blood is there ! People are going to love them imho. Bring it on
Thanks foe the review bro. Any chance for a dedicated video of it's tracking capabilities? From different angles at kow and higher speeds if possible . ❤
Thank you for the video, please can you take the Flip skiing on a low light day and tell me how it preforms in "autonomous follow" mode? The Neo fails in "low textured environments" and I'd love to know how the Flip does.
I've already got a neo which has been a lot of fun and my first drone, but I was considering getting a mini 4 pro because I love the cinematic shots I've seen come from it. I hope we get some good comparisons between the mini 4 pro and the flip soon, to help me decide!
It has the same camera as the mini 4 pro so video results should be very similar i think that is the part that will sell many its a much safer way to get some of these shots in many areas for many people considering its props, quick deployment and if needed build in quick shot modes.
@scb2scb2 it will probably be what sells me. Seeing how resilient the neo is, if we even get a little bit of that extra resilience and safety I think we can be happy with that
@@TheTravellingMurse My guess is based on the neo feedback and the legal demands of having props for some areas/flights they are going after this market and its bigger than people think. It might never be as 'good' as the mini pro's but it doesn't have to be it has to be a its own thing with many of the use features of the neo and basic flight/camera results from the mini but a lot safer to fly inside and in crowded areas etc etc. And indeed i am looking forward to someone trying tio crash it a few times and see how it holds up and what parts break and how easy they are to replace. Unlike the neo is a blade housing breaks it might be easy to replace for example abd i doubt the 'brick' core will be easy to damage.
I just got the Mini 4 Pro a few weeks ago and I must say I'm not tempted to buy the Flip. I would like to get a full FPV small O4 drone and practice high speed fpv flight for indoor and out door.
Everybody should stop comparing this the other drones. It's a v log drone for bloggers. It replaces a camera crew for one person blogger. It's not intended to follow a mountain biker hrough the woods. That's what it's designed for.
Thanks for the early video. Direction track doesn't work on the Neo. Is it working properly on the Flip? Will it back-up as you run/bike towards it or does it just end up following you from behind after about 10 seconds?
??? Why upgrade from the M3 or M3Pro when you can simply buy inexpensive prop guards? I bought el cheapo prop guards for my M4Pro. They work well indoors or outdoors. The only down side is they block the OA sensors/cameras so you have to still be a bit careful.
Thanks for the video, Auto On is a nice touch when unfolding. Same Auto modes as on the Neo? No adjustment of the settings either with the button? I wonder if it will track faster than 30kph.
Bought the neo too quickly. Would have rather waited for this Flip. I also bought the original Mavic 3 with 2 lenses when it first came out. Many months later, the Mavic 3 Pro came out, at the same price. With 3 lenses. I was pretty upset about it. Tried to trade it in and offer to pay more with DJI, but they refused. I got the Mini3Pro when it came out. Still enjoy using it. I’m gonna wait until the Flip 2 comes out that has a 1” sensor . Definitely like the prop guards and storage design. I got to slow down on buying DJI when they come out with new drones. I’ve basically bought everything since the original Mavic came out and very few Reels to show for it
Having both the Mini 3 and Neo, I think there's no reason to upgrade since the Neo is still perfect in closed range shots and for long range high altitude shots I will be using the Mini 3, Also the neo is fun to use as a go to drone, just fly without any worries of damaging the drone. but if it's my first drone, this might be good for learning how to fly without worrying of damaging your props or even a fatal crash on bumping twigs or branches. the only game changer here is the camera I guess, but I'm not sure if it has true vertical mode.
Great video! Been looking for a review like this for days. I’m new to drones I had the neo but needed a better camera Im trying to decide between this one and the mini 4 pro to do aerial, social, real estate photography, cinema. So I need indoor and outdoor (I know I can do mini pro prop cages) If you had to choose one which would you go with? Thanks !
In my opinion, this flip is just another option for those people that wanted to get their first drone. I have the neo and m4p and this new drone doesn't have any appeal to me at all.
As I have a Neo and a Mini 4 Pro, I won’t be buying it, although I might consider it if the noise level is much better than the Neo, so will reserve judgement until I can hear it, can you post some sound recordings of it?
Thank you @ for the heads up, but I have seen the comparison videos and it doesn’t make all that much difference from what I have seen, I am looking for something as quiet as my mini 4 pro.
Great review and not for me: The prop guards will be a pain for similar accidents getting stuck in trees, given it has no OA. I will gladly stick with HoverAir X1 ProMax which is lighter, folds much smaller than this one and has amazing footage/features.
@@falutvtarjan7772 It doesn't. Doesn't make sense. Will wait for the Neo2 or until FPV is added to the Flip. I already have a good 250g camera drone, the Autel Nano+. The Flip appears more fragile than the Neo. Those arms look weak.
If they add the feature that I can fly it with my N3 goggles. I will buy it. If they don't, it will be a pass. It would be better than the neo in wind and longer flight times. I just enjoy flying with goggles, but don't fly aggressively, so I'm not looking for acro modes.
i have used the hoverair pro max for a work video and i like the flip more. the hoverair is too light in my opinion. the flip is way better camera also
So now the question many people are asking is, does it have long range LiDar or TOF IR. Because there is a video showing a Flip with a LiDar warning label under the battery, so you would think that mean it uses Lidar when at top speed for long range avoidance, but only under certain conditions. There is another video where the person clearly says there is no Lidar and it is 100% TOF IR only, which would make sense given a LiDar module is like $700. So what do you say... what does your data label on the Drone say under the battery and in the Manual? Set the record straight for us. Lidar TOF-IR or Both!
I have a Neo but I don’t trust it. 1 Flyaway which DJI confirmed wasn’t operator error. Unexplained behaviour ending up with a 52.6 mph flight till it hit something ! Yes it does...
Does it have waypoints? What about flips and turtle like Avata2?
How do you compare it to hover air pro max?
Can it film up close face shots like the neo?? Or is it farther away the like dji 3 and 4 mini?
