Keep an eye on your rear tread. I bought some pilot sport 4's beginning of summer and had to replace the rears end of summer. No burnouts, no drifts, just spirited driving.
Darren Gray e46 m3? Have you checked your rear trailing arm bushes? How many miles did you cover roughly?
Yeah an E46 M3, I only got about 6,000 miles on them. I haven't looked into the rear trailing arms. I bought the car about 6 months ago and the previous owner had BMW do the both inspection 1 and 2 a month before I bought it. I would hope they would have seen if they were worn...

I have an Imola red E46 M3 too. I went 18 by 9 1/2 but finally decided to go powder coated black. I got tired of all the brake dust over my silver and chrome wheels from my 6-piston Brembos.
I run a set of four very sticky Dunlop 265/ 35/18.
I got the ultra light D Force Wheels but they're kind of ugly. I'm thinking about a set of black ARC wheels in your spoke style.... I like the concave look.
I know they come in 10 inch but I'll probably stick with the 9 and 1/2 for cost and weight savings.

Yes. Tire manufactures say you can mount a 18x265mm tyre (UK spelling. Like that, huh?) on a 9" diameter wheel minimum. Ten inches is actually ideal according to the tyre manufacturers. But 9.5" is quite acceptable, with a weight and cost savings as well.
My D-Force wheels are really light. But they will deform after a while on the street. The Apex ARC are only marginally heavier and a lot sturdier IMO. More expensive too, I think. But you get what you pay for.
Some owners pay YUUGE $$ and British Pounds for Volk and BBS etc. I cant see it. Apex ARC-8 FTW.
Deplorable Dave totally agree! Volk and bbs are great and super light but the cost is high and the difference is minuscule

Would look good with a little front end camber to tuck in the wheels.

hautecouturification thanks! Yes coilovers are on the list it's currently on eibach springs. More mods coming before that though stay tuned!

Man that red M3 is awesome! what´s the suspension you´re using? I want to lower my M3 but i´ve doubts about the B12 kit or using coilovers but i´m afraid about the cracking noises of the coilovers...
eduki it's currently on eibach lowering springs with stock shocks. I am considering moving on to coilovers at some point, you shouldn't really experience any cracking noise with a good quality suspension setup. Thanks and stay tuned for more videos
Any fitment issues, I was under the impression the ARC-8s 9.5J ET35 needed a bit of neg camber to get under the front arch?

I've had experience of both and chose to go 18s this time round for performance reasons it's saved a lot of weight and all the track guys run 18 in a square setup!
19s can look awesome but I have a few more plans to set this off and complete the look I wanted

Hi mate, nice guy, they look amazing. Any rub with this width and offset - esp at the front? Standard fenders or rolled? what suspension are you running? How much drop from standard? I'm looking for some wheels too at the moment... I want to get decent fitment without rolling guards etc. Cheers
Hi. No issues with catching with these on standard arches not rolled. Eibach springs I think 20-25mm drop although I can’t remember 100%

Are you running any additional camber in the front to avoid rubbing? Love the look of your car and the content is top draw buddy.
Thankyou. The car is setup with very mild front camber I believe just under -2 but I plan to fit Bilstein B16 soon and realign

Question are these forged or not ??? There’s two wheels that look similar the -8r and the -8
The normal arc 8 is a cast wheel but I ran it 5 years with no issues the R is the forged version. It seems both have lifetime structural warranty so it’s really a matter of picking on weight and the extra strength from forged
@@thedownshiftchannel ok thanks for the input I knew that forged meant more durable but I was confused wether forged where more conclaves so the regular arc -8 are fine I guess

There are cheaper replicas but they are heavier and more prone to cracking and other issues
Are you running fully stock suspension, and do you have any rubbing issues?
Eibach lowering springs and no issues at all it’s perfect fitting

Any reason you chose the high offset with spacer instead of a lower offset and no spacer?

Heffe Heffe it makes the front and back wheels the same so you can swap them around to prolong tyre life and is a practical solution. A lot of the track cars also do this for that reason
Gotcha, but couldn’t you have done this same thing with 18x9.5 +22 so there would be no spacer up front and just a small in the rear?
Are you running the same exact tire setup front an rear as well? How often do track cars rotate tires from the front to the rear and vice versa?
My “track car” is just for drifting so the front tires almost never get changed. Just the rears.
I just ordered a set of arc 8 for my e46 m3 as well, but it’s not a track car I went for looks. I ordered 19x9.5 +22 and 19x10.5 +22 for an aggressive fitment. It’s a weekend car and occasional autox.
Heffe to run the et22 upfront you need pretty aggressive camber and the car is a daily driver so it’s not really all that practical. Without having Rose jointed arms and solid mounts there isn’t a huge amount of gain from such an aggressive setup and it would make it a bit less friendly as a road car. The front even sits nice with the 35 setup as you can see and the front does not have spacers only the rear.

Gotcha, I haven’t got the wheels yet, ordered them but still a few weeks out because they are backordered.
A local friend that also has an e46 m3 is running 18x9.5 +22 square setup and is only running -2.5 camber up front for proper fitment. I don’t believe he is running a 265 like you though, and I’m going to have a 245 up front and 275 rear.
Hoping I don’t have to run super crazy camber to fit the aggressive wheels haha.

aaronmact Bimec. No issues with them the hubs were a good fit and the PCD matches as it should so they are fine

J B I went with Adrian Flux the only mods that impact my policy are power mods... my question to them was “so I could strip it out put a cage in with big brakes and suspension and potentially be a 7:20 Nurburgring car and it wouldn’t be any more” not that I’m tempted to do that....
thedownshiftchannel I haven’t ever bothered to tell them about wheels or suspension before but I have read all kinds of bullshit about them not paying out for similar reasons. And I have the canteen council 🙈💩🤓at work saying the same 😕so when the option came up on the quote I clicked it and it’s been asking more questions than my missus on a Saturday morning 🤨

Robert Whitfield the originals weigh twice as much and aren't as wide. These perform much better and the looks side of thing is personal preference. Not for everyone but thanks for watching anyway
