My favorite style of Christmas lights! Each tree or bush wrapped in a different solid color. All in jewel tones. I know by this time of posting, you’ve already finished, but I vote for pools of blue lights on the ground, it will look like water. Especially if there was a lighted deer sculpture by it getting a “drink”

My children are grown and gone with children of their own. Aaron told Benjamin that he thought the roly-poly liked him. That is exactly what I used to to say to my own children. I may have shed a little tear hearing this come from Aaron. You are such adoring parents. Benjamin is a doll. You take me back to a time long gone. Thank you. 💞

Just checking in for my daily dose of sweetness. I started watching you last year to learn more gardening tips. But now I come here for a pick-me-up after reading the news. Watching Benjamin is an absolute joy. My Mother used to make me stay by her side when she was gardening. All I wanted to do was go to the schoolyard and create crafts. I never expected that my two greatest passions in life would eventually be gardening and creating. As a senior, my garden is what I live for during the warm months and I'm lucky to have been born with creativity which allows me to have two Etsy shops filled to the brim with lovelies. My home and garden have been featured in about 20 magazines over the years. One of my greatest lifes accomplishments and one of my goals. My Three Wishes in life were: own a home, have it featured in a magazine and own my own shop. Although my health doesn't allow me a brick and mortar my online shops do and that's just fine with me! lol ~ Have the best Thanksgiving ever and thank you for bringing joy into my life each and every video. You guys are like family. xo

That spot just begs to be filled with a snow family! Benjamin and his roly-poly friend were adorable. What a bonus! Hey Laura, in your spare time you should write a children’s book introducing kids to gardening through Benjamin’s eyes. 😉 We need another generation to understand and enjoy the advantages of gardening. You’re such a wonderful teacher that I really think you could author a fun and educational children’s book. Realistically though, I know you have your hands full. ♥️

I never would have thought of wrapping dead branches, but I will now! I also thought it would be an unfortunate color combination but - I was completely wrong. I’ll be picking up some color strands during the after Christmas sales. I will leisurely wrap and store them next summer and Christmas 2022 will be - dramatic. Thank you.

Are you going to have the Christmas Markets this year in Deutschland? I hope so! Christmas in Deutschland is an amazing presentation of the joy of the season! I have several decorations from there that are gifts from dear friends who live in Chemnitz. We have been friends and they have visited us many times here in the Texas Panhandle. They love it here! One of them is planning to move here in the next year or so. I'm very excited for him to be able to live out this dream of being a real Texas cowboy. He has a horse and loves it but he says it's not finished until he can live here and work on a ranch.❤️

The little garden you made this year with that adorable fence is so charming and how Benjamin will recall that with such joy to his own children one day.
As a child (and really still an adult) who has always loved and been infatuated with insects and 'creepy crawlies' I'm so happy you encourage it in Benjamin. I once went with a friend who had a 3 year old to the Natural History museum and she would say, "Ick, gross" (the mother) at everything, but as I talked more about how fascinating the insects were and how much fun they can be her little son started to be less afraid and more interested. As a child that was allowed all sorts of animalia to collect and play with and study encouraged by my mum, I'm so happy you do so as well.
My mother said she'd never know what she'd find in my pocket from worms to jars of tadpoles :)

I'm terrified of spiders but my youngest loves them, he wants to be a spider scientist right now and I let him keep jumping spiders as pets. I'm still scared of them but they aren't so bad now because of seeing the love and happiness when my kid holds a little jumping spider and gently moves them somewhere safe.
Just because it's not what the parent loves doesn't mean we should discourage our kids from loving things.

It’s a magical time of year at Christmas! And to love our children so much that we go out of our way to make their world a happier place - even if only for a brief moment in time - will leave lasting memories to cherish! When he’s older, Benjamin will remember & even possibly do this same type of activity for his children! Just like his Momma & Daddy did for him (and his baby sister)! 🌲❤️🎅🏼

So cute! I love the colored lights. I used to be a strictly white lights gal until we had kids. Now we line the roof and windows with multi colored strands and candy cane wrap the trunks of our trees with alternating solid colored strands and then the leaf canopies and bushes are wrapped in one solid color (all different from the one next to it). Kids bring so much joy and life to the Holidays...they grow up so fast and it's wonderful to see you and Aaron cherish your little ones and making wonderful memories with them! Great job mom and dad!

I always wanted to have this look at Christmas, however my trees have become too large for this old girl to be up on a tall ladder. What a clever idea lashing the limbs to fence posts. I will go scavenging today. I have the perfect place in my yard. Your setting is reminiscent of Longwood Gardens with the light wrapped trees and a beautiful green house in the background. Thank you for a beautiful tasteful winter display that is very economical.

Beautiful and christmassy! Would love to see the veg garden all lit up too, seeing the arbors on each end, fence and your homemade branch trees in the raised beds lined the walk way through...ooolala that would be so pretty!

So creative! And to have Benjamin so eager to help, by the time he starts school, would love to be there for show and tell when he brings in a plant and starts naming it off by its botanical name. Yep I started this by seed. The future will definitely need young people with knowledge in horticulture. And he will be ahead of the class, if he chooses that route. Warms my heart to see all of you working together. Happy Thanksgiving!

Now I have to try floral wrapping some trees in my yard. Magical!
Just when I thought you wouldn't be planting more bulbs. FYI watched a video about Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands yesterday. They plant 7 million bulbs each year by hand! Was fortunate enough to visit there one spring ... makes one get into gardening.

What a fun video. I love seeing Benjamin out playing and helping. I also really enjoy the before and after cleanup view of the butterfly garden. Watching the light process is encouraging me to go wrap a tree! Thanks so much for your wonderful channel.

You both are such good parents. Your influence on the kids will certainly pay off. No matter what goes wrong, you seem to find inner resources to make it ok - always a smile, always a good idea coming from the bad, such joy in living real life. Your parents had to have raised you in a similar way to have it come out so naturally and not just for the camera. You always make me happier by watching.

I love it!!! So cute to see Benjamin in there playing with his trucks and catching what I call doodle bugs! The fence is just his size too lol. I’d love to see less plants and more play area in the kid’s butterfly garden. Maybe some grass in the middle?

I don't know why, but this one brought tears to my eyes. Just heartfelt niceness in this one from celebrating a successful garden while cleaning it out and Benjamin being so lively and happy and helpful. Then a generous viewer gets her gift planted in such a lovely spot and finally all decked out with winter lights. Happy Gardening! 💜💜💜💜💜

Laura you are such an inspiration and you gave me a great idea! I love those trees you wrapped with lights, and I kept thinking how cute it would be with those light up Christmas chickens (from tractor supply) underneath all those trees! I think it would be so cute! Our neighborhood is participating in the celebration of lights this year and you gave me a fantastic idea for an empty space outside my home!!! Also….it’s ok Benjamin I don’t like spiders either! Luckily you have your brave momma to protect you lol.

I planted some Sweet Romance on either side of my mailbox this year. I was thrilled with it. It reached its full size in one season and it was in bloom forever. The pollinators were still enjoying in in October. I did finally cut it back a few weeks ago. We'll see how it handles the salt and snow.
