Note: If you want to squeeze out even higher risk/reward you can give up a few of the utility options I listed for sic'em or the ferocity signet. Up to what you are comfortable with!
Did this build get nerfed? My cool down for barrage is now 15 seconds and shared between both longbows. Meanwhile, my weapon swap cooldown is super fast.
Wait I get it now. The switching weapon reduces the recharge of the barrage to the same amount as the weapon swap (WHILE IN COMBAT.) This build is not trying to switch to a different instance of the barrage skill. Rather it is simply using the weapon swap as a mechanic to shorten the single instance of the barrage skill on both weapons. The reason you have 2 longbows is so that you will still have access to the barrage skill after switching weapons. Muk is brilliant!
A bit late on this info, but you could even forgoe Lead the Wind for Predator's Onslaught. Since Barrage pulses cripple it's an effective 15% damage increase and you'd still be within the 9s window on swap. Also Rune of the Pack is a good alternative, gives more crit chance. Swiftenss is covered by bird F2 and Bow 3
Would love to see an update to this video with the changes to the game since then, such as Barrage becoming an ammo skill in WvW, the addition of relics, and removal of Retaliation.
Mukluk, As someone who's been a Ranger main since beta, I'm really enjoying the Ranger content. Thanks for putting out builds and concepts like this for what I feel is the most under-rated and universally dumped-on class in the game; especially when it comes to WvW. After messing around with it a bit, your so-called Arrow Cart build is a ton of fun to play and I've found it extremely useful in many WvW specific situations, often shining where most other classes and builds are completely worthless. I'd like to throw out a few tweaks and suggestions that I think could significantly increase its average DPS while not only maintaining survivability, but actually improving it. Please forgive how long-winded this is. I didn't just want to throw changes out there without giving my reasoning behind it. Drop Marksmanship, add Beast Mastery. Marksmanship has a natural synergy with a longbow, but if you look at the Beastmode synergy with the Beast Mastery line, it's actually considerably more powerful for an Arrow Cart. As built, Marksmanship minor traits all proc so rarely in this build, they're not really worth mentioning. So dropping Marksmanship really just means losing Clarion Bond, Farsighted, and Lead the Wind. As much as they're nice they're not incredible here. These traits require leaving beastmode or hitting opponents at max range to get boons, or they give a range-based DPS increase. While Lead the Wind also gives piercing and recharge reduction, those really don't help the build's AC focus. Barrage's recharge is already reduced enough by Quick Draw to be used instantly on weapon swap (which is the only time it should be used) and, due to angle of attack, piercing Barrage arrows will still only hit a single target. However when you switch to Beast Mastery you gain significant buffs in Beastmode and there's no reason not to stay in it permanently. Being in Beastmode 100% of the time means permanent up time of the Eagle's Ferocious pet bonuses (+100 power and ferocity), the F1 and F2 skills are always ready to make a quick escape, and the traits in the Beast Mastery line now apply to the player instead of the pet. The minor Beast Mastrery traits now give the player +75 power, precision, toughness, vitality, and condition damage, +150 Ferocity, +30% speed, and +10% damage while above 90% health. Add in the major traits of Potent Ally (gives player might when they crit), Nature's Healing (player recovers health passively), and Honed Axes (+120 Ferocity), and the build will be consistently hitting harder, while possibly even improving defense. Swap One Wolf Pack for Strength of the Pack. While One Wolf Pack is solid, it will only apply added DPS once per 1/4 second and, considering the way Barrage hits, that means only one hit per volley of arrows will have OWP's added DPS. However in Beastmode with Strenght of the Pack, every individual hit gives the player might with no internal cooldown; so SotP + Barrage = instant 25 stacks might. The might then adds damage to all attacks, thereby increasing damage significantly to all hits. Plus the stability/ swiftness can help with a speedy escape if needed, or it can enable standing in a riskier location and firing-off the full barrage without being interrupted. For maximum effectiveness/ abuse of might stacking, I suggest firing Barrage before channeling SotP. This way the last few volleys are hitting as the SotP effect begins, thus making might stacking instant. That also allows firing barrage a second time before SotP ends for maximum might stacking abuse. Swap Healing Spring for Bear Stance. While they're similar in many ways, with this being the build's primary/ only condi cleanse, Bear Stance is far more quick and dependable. Bear stance removes 2 condis a second (total of 10 condis removed in 4s) and gives the player freedom to move around. While Healing Spring has slightly higher healing and cleansing potential, Healing Spring forces a player to stand in the spring for 10 seconds to receive full benefit, and even then it only cleansing 2 conditions every-other second. I find the speed of cleansing, as well as the ability to heal/ cleanse on-the-run, worth giving up the slightly stronger overall heal potential. Swap Lightning Reflexes for Moa Stance. This is somewhat a personal preference, so take-it-or-leave-it, but I find it a strong choice. I personally love the synergies of boons (which this build now has a ton of) with Moa Stance. Even though parts of this skill have been nerfed for PvP and WvW, it still provides a solid amount of protection, regen, swiftness, and fury; plus with no cast time it can be used right before or during channels of other boon skills (like Strength of the Pack or Quickening Zephyr) to increase their boon duration by 20%. Mix that with the huge number of times I've accidentally launched myself backward to my death with Lightning Reflexes, this is a no-brainer for me. Swap Sigil of Air for Sigil of Force or Sigil of Fire. Another personal preference thing since apparently I'm picking nits now (sorry, I suppose I can be compulsively thorough)... While the Sigil of Air is definitely higher single target damage, in this build both Force (+5% damage) and Fire (5 target AoE damage blast) will deal more overall damage. Of course to be fair, there are solid justifications in keeping it an Air sigil regardless, since it would make the build more effective at picking off single players outside of Barrage spam. Finally, since a couple of traits and bonuses have been made useless by my changes, I had to swap a couple other things for everything to make sense. Since there's no exiting Beastmode, Unstoppable Union does nothing, so I switched it to Live Fast (gives Fury and Quickness on using Beast Skill). With no traps in the build anymore, I swapped out Trapper's Expertise for Sharpened Edged (33% chance to give bleeding on crit. It's worth noting, this trait has no internal cooldown). And finally since the Beast Mastery line already gives the player a +30% movement speed, I swapped Fireworks Runes to Pack Runes for the +125 Precision. While I did make several changes, I give you all the credit; functionally this is still your Arrow Cart build. The usage is virtually identical. Overall, I give your build concept 10/10 for creativity, enjoyability, and finally seeing someone practically abuse the Quick Draw trait on a Longbow for once. Thanks again for the incredible build. I know this video is a little old but I just came across it, you could go full Berserker gear except for the bow (assassin's), with an accuracy sigil, Bowl of Curry Butternut Squash soup (100 precision, 70 ferocity), and although this is really expensive, a Writ of Masterful accuracy utility item (200 precision when health is above 90%, but if you're backlining/defending on a wall, that's probably a pretty good uptime). That gets you to 100% crit chance with fury in almost all berserker gear thanks to spotter, crazy! And thankfully retaliation isnt a worry anymore to boot1

Since all I needed was a second bow I went ahead and built this. It was a challenge to get the cooldown proc since it seems like autoattack counts as a skill, oops. Also didn't help that my team was on the offensive, so I had little time to set up in one place. Definitely something I'll only pull out on defense or maybe when I need to spam AOE in PVE.
You have to be in combat for quickdraw to work (you can see if you are in combat if you have the up arrows above your utility skills to change them) the "1" of the bow does not count as a skill for quickdraw
Those would also work, any sigils that boost impact damage would be fine, which one is best will depend on the situation. (bloodlust of course is great if you stay alive)
Yep, I use it every wednesday (we do "world vs wednesday" on stream" -Longbow in both weapon slots -quickdraw trait -weapon swap WHILE IN COMBAT to trigger quickdraw -press barrage right after swapping (you will see a buff appear on your bar for quickdraw after the combat weapon swap)

Anyone can give me some advice for wvw server? Now I’m in EB. I was considering between DB and SOS. DB looks strong in rank but low KDR. Which one would be better?
Hey - so I am a returning player to GW2. I took about 2 year break but wanted to get back into WvW. I got very unhappy with BDO and wanted to play GW2 again because it had good story and allowed for you to play the style you want - however, the few WvW guilds I found in Borlis Pass require specific builds. Is this common, only found in zerg wvw, or what? I want to learn more in WvW but I do want to play what class I enjoy - I dont mind suggestions to make my build better but being forced into a build I dont enjoy is not fun to me. Is there a discord or forum where I can find WvW guilds?
Some guilds will have requirements like that but certainly not all. Most of this video for example was me joining random public groups and just doing my thing. And the best way I know to find a wvw guild is to say you are looking for one IN wvw because that chat is limited to your server and allied server (since you can only wvw with them, and not your entire region of NA or EU)
How unhinged would it be to go nature magic instead of an elite spec to get alac on spirits and every now and then get maybe 2 barrages per weapon swap? Lol
@MuklukTH-cam can you please arrange a squad of like 30 or 40 rangers in your server with this build? to see how it works on the enemy zergs? do it please, for science. Edit: take whatever support class you want in the squad, i just want to see this madness happen.
even a 5 man squad with 4 rangers and a quickbrand to give might and quickness would be pretty hilarious. Or the same for a 4 man squad of staff catalysts spamming double meteor storm
wait a sec, since retaliation isnt a thing anymore. this build would be even better. onlytthing that could hit ya would be the fire, choas eletric and dark aura. so a counter to this would be a lot of tempests running aura shouts. but other then that and other rangers doing the same thing. there wouldnt be a way to counter it. short of getting in close range ofc
this is actually ridiculous in zerg fights. constant barrage raining down on a zerg forces them to reposition. and nobody can rez downs or else they get punished. im surprised ANET has not made this build impossible yet 🤣
Off topic: (Kinda) Did y'all know their is a title called "God of WvW" it's for reaching rank 10k. Can you imagine? I saw someone with it the other day.
God please no not more bearbows in WvW. This build makes it near impossible to defend objectives because rangers can destroy arrow carts and defensive siege anywhere in a tower like you did to that treb. Its super broken
Awesome build Muk, no kidding, but that just reinforces my opinion on rangers in WvW - disgusting :P. On a side note, you really shouldnt be picking on guardians as an OP profession while playing ranger yourself, thats just pure hypocrisy ... :>
this is how I played the ranger in 2012 lmao. Its fun but kinda useless. You deal high AoE damage to foes but they won't die of your inflicted damage and just heal up...
Note: If you want to squeeze out even higher risk/reward you can give up a few of the utility options I listed for sic'em or the ferocity signet. Up to what you are comfortable with!

Weird how a bow with arrows is more reflective of a machine gun than my engineer’s rifle. I’m ashamed of my profession.

Ohhhhh now I understand why Mursaat Overseer gave me 1047197 ascended Longbows :^)
How unhinged would it be to go nature magic instead of an elite spec to get alac on spirits and every now and then get maybe 2 barrages per weapon swap? Lol
Seems like a good build that someone could base a wvw farming bot on.
Since you're switching so much, why not use sigil of Battle instead of accuracy?
Didn't think of that, it might be an improvement!
Should have named the video: How to be a moving Arrow Cart in WvsW
Isn't that also more damage than an arrow cart would do? + Cripple on the same hit.
Thas stupid!
I gotta get some HP for my soulbeast.
This build literally destroyed drakkar lake :o
@MuklukTH-cam can you please arrange a squad of like 30 or 40 rangers in your server with this build? to see how it works on the enemy zergs? do it please, for science.
Edit: take whatever support class you want in the squad, i just want to see this madness happen.
even a 5 man squad with 4 rangers and a quickbrand to give might and quickness would be pretty hilarious. Or the same for a 4 man squad of staff catalysts spamming double meteor storm
Making me wish I played ranger lol
Liked for using gw2 music in a gw2 montage.
Is this build still valid?
Yep, I know many people running it.
@@MuklukTH-cam Thank you.
wait a sec, since retaliation isnt a thing anymore. this build would be even better. onlytthing that could hit ya would be the fire, choas eletric and dark aura. so a counter to this would be a lot of tempests running aura shouts. but other then that and other rangers doing the same thing. there wouldnt be a way to counter it. short of getting in close range ofc
I HAVE TO MAKE A RANGER!!!!
Why air sigils and not fire sigils ? Build: gw2skills.net/editor/?POgAMNlVweYdMPmJO2LXv9BUA-zRIYRUxfGtpCiQKo4B-e
Silly builds, yes. This being me back to gw1
this is actually ridiculous in zerg fights. constant barrage raining down on a zerg forces them to reposition. and nobody can rez downs or else they get punished. im surprised ANET has not made this build impossible yet 🤣
Off topic: (Kinda) Did y'all know their is a title called "God of WvW" it's for reaching rank 10k. Can you imagine? I saw someone with it the other day.
Oh yeah! I know Rediche has that, he is another gw2 content creator.
@@MuklukTH-cam Wow, yeah that's just totally insane. Great build btw. Very creative!
I love this one :D (in b4 it gets nerfed to hell XD)
PDF guild wiping to one ranger lol
4:00 Panic xDDDD :DDDD
God please no not more bearbows in WvW. This build makes it near impossible to defend objectives because rangers can destroy arrow carts and defensive siege anywhere in a tower like you did to that treb. Its super broken
you monster :D :D
Awesome build Muk, no kidding, but that just reinforces my opinion on rangers in WvW - disgusting :P. On a side note, you really shouldnt be picking on guardians as an OP profession while playing ranger yourself, thats just pure hypocrisy ... :>
this is how I played the ranger in 2012 lmao. Its fun but kinda useless. You deal high AoE damage to foes but they won't die of your inflicted damage and just heal up...
And here I thought rangers couldn't sink any lower
Great, can't wait to get destroyed by Rangers who see this build now :(
ON IT! Muhahaha
Just put up some reflects, its always amusing watching them kill themselves
@@fierafirefairy315 i think barrage doesnt get reflected cmiiw.
Is is so gonna get meta and nerfed😂
Not about the build, but about editing: that transition at 0:41 was jarring and disorienting as all hell. I beg you to never use it again.
