he was like top 3 hardest characters to play, barely anyone knew how to play him, and hes just average when you dont know how to use him so i doubt you raged

As broken as mmh was, and boy was he broken, i still think that pre patch superman was the most broken thing that this game had.. He was probably the easiest broken character nrs had ever made. But superman got nerfed and mmh never did so...

I was just about to comment that Flash could punish then you said it anyway... Even though I mained Flash I remember struggling against good MMHs. The zoning, range and mix ups were real.

@@haysan32 Yeah I wasn't the best but I can't think of a worse match up for him. Those random cross up teleports were what got me the most. I could bait wake up and whiff punish with speed dodge and punish blatant teleports but the cross ups and 50/50s were rough. MMH was a beast. Flash had some pretty broke stuff too though.
LJDee91 Flash was too hard for me to play, I was like 14 when Injustice 1 came out and it was only my second fighting game so mechanically I just couldn’t get his setups down. I mained Grundy 😂

VSVPx GooNz96 As a character he deserves to be in the base game but jokes aside for how broken he was I actually like how overpowered the characters are in early NRS games. They feel a lot more dynamic than characters do now especially with the variation system in MK.

You could do crossup setups with his oh teleport off his 113 combo too, timing it with the opponent sliding on the floor. Good times XD
count hyuga it was the better set up too. You couldn’t tech roll it.
I abused that and a nasty on block orb setup. If you blew up an orb behind your opponent guard and did oh teleport, the pushback made the next teleport an unpredictable crossup. Nasty.
count hyuga oh dude you could do so much weird shit in the corner with it too. Depending on what side manhunter was on that’s how you had to block the orb on wake up. So just insta airdashing was a mix. So silly

Staff Nightwing had good range to deal with manhunter the problem was NWs mobility.
Tbh, Injustice 1 was made with WAYYYYYY more broken mechanics than MK9. EVRYONE has a vortex, you can't delay wake up so after a hard knockdown, everyone wakes up at the same time. The game is back to block, so many vortex(es?) are 33/33/33 or even 25/25/25/25. You have much lower chance to successfully block in I1 than in any other fighting games. Not to mention some extremely other stupid stuffs like guaranteed unblockable damage, 7f d1s being plus on block, meterless normals/strings plus on block (some are double digit plus, Harley's 112 string is +27!!!), Doomsday's earthshake, body splash jump attacks, some moves with insane chip damage.....

MMH was the most broken character in Injustice 1 but prepatch scorpion had the most broken teleport in this game 👀

Friendly reminder that not only was this teleport allowed, it was buffed at one point. I think it was the tracking? It's been too long, but everything he covered it was already doing...and they buffed it.
MMH is like if you took a variation character from MKX and rolled them all into one. No joke.

It's hard to tell.Trait should combine with specific character to be discussed.Grundy's grab is absolutely strong,but you just can't compare it with other's trait.

It must be interesting for the people who have never played MK9 and INJ2 to see these vids. Like Im sure they watched the Raiden vid and were wondering what could have possibly been more broken than that...meanwhile all the old school NRS players IMMEDIATELY knew who really had the most broken teleport in any NRS game...probably in any fighting game ever.

The Most Broken TELEPORT in NRS History is Quan Chi's in MKX. Because it was the piece of shit: slow, unsafe and can be beaten with any move (even a throw!).

hhTHEBOSSANATERh Kabal mk9. Literally 6/4 was his worst matchup. Martian has a number of 5/5’s.

@@jahimalnar7978 the Johnny match-up with kabal is 6-4 kabal. Johnny struggles to get in on his zoning if the kabal player is tight on execution with IAGB's. Kenshi was a complete nightmare for Johnny some would argue that match up was 7-3 kenshi. Part of the reason kenshi is considered by most to be second best overall is because he had most one sided mu's in the game (the most 7-3 mu's) but unlike kabal (who has no losing mu's) kenshi loses to.... you guessed it.... kabal.

Games like injustice 1 and mk9 were fun because the majority of the cast were broken in their own way. I feel they can recapture this feel and perfect it with mk11 by just focusing on buffing characters instead of nerfing them. That being said, not all nerfs are bad. Some are necessary. Can you name the last time a character was buffed into being broken? I can't. How many times have they nerfed characters and yet they're still strong. Quite a bit. BUFF THE WEAK CHARACTERS. Make the game fun. Brings variety to the competitions as well. Seeing the same characters over and over get old quick. Especially in mirror matches. Those are the worst.

Manhunter was a DLC character so he didn't make the game beta for sure. I could be wrong but as I remember it NRS didn't used to beta their DLC characters before release either. So if I'm right the answer is there was never a beta for him to get past which explains a lot.
Also it's been so long since I played IJ1 I completely didn't remember that instant airs used to be overheads. Talk about a trip man these videos take me back. Good times.

Mk11 is so boring compared to ALL the games from mk9 to inj 2:(( I want to have fun with mk11 so much but I don’t. Hopefully they do an inj 3 (I’m a huge comic nerd) and it’s more like their older games. I can’t even watch mk11 at all without getting stupid bored in about 3 minutes 😂
He also had the most broken uppercut in NHRS history. Yeaaa Jade in MK11 is a tad bad, but at least you cant combo for 35%+ on hit after.

It'll be very controversial. Everybody would have different opinions on who was more broken then someone else.
May have missed it but I think Reo missed one aspect of the overhead teleport?
One way to punish it, for most characters, was that if you simply walked forward as they did it you would actually *force* an unintentional crossup block from the martian manhunter player and that would usually put you in most if not all characters D1 range and leave manhunter *hella* unsafe.
Now, at a high level, in practice this usually didn't come up much because if the manhunter player simply did the regular teleport you would get blown up and most of them didn't just teleport randomly/constantly enough to make it worth it since it still left the meta heavily in their favor.....but it was an option worth filling away in your arsenal for sure. I think you can actually see one instance of this during Theo/Jupiter's MLG match years ago.
Back during the Hype days of this game on PS3 I'd always fight the #1 Global Ranked player and he'd beat me all the time with MM. I'm happy now knowing MM was actually broken during that time because it would ALWAYS frustrate me. Happy that I was in the top 5 on leaderboards at one point and solidified myself in top 20 after taking a break from the game. Good times and fun memories I'll always miss~

It was a typical mortal kombat teleport, but in a game that doesn't have a block button and therefore crossups were an actual thing.

@@olofacosta3192 Possibly, the meterburn version of his MK9 teleport was actually slightly plus on block if I remember correctly.
But it was a high and left him airborn before the second hit so it was punishable by ducking and performing a D1 anti-air combo.

Honestly that's a hard one so many characters had amazing traits, Black Adam orbs, Aquaman's anti-combo trait, Flash's slow mo, etc

NRS just has too many teleporting characters. I've always hated that. If a character teleports, it should be extremely punishable on block. I hate how teleports can be punishable but if you EX it, you can make it safe or you have to guess. There should be no guessing involved as teleports are "get out of pressure" moves that should be used sparingly.
