我想saute应该是来源于法语词汇“sauter”，sauter的主义是“跳，蹦跳”，炒菜这一动作就是“faire sauter des légumes”, Or " sauter des légumes ".炒菜的名词就是 " des légumes sautés "了。

You missed poach eggs. The difference of roast and bake. The difference of fry and sauté is fry - cooking by immersion in hot oil but sauté - simply in the oil from sticking and the food is not covered in the oil.

我觉得您把roasted和grilled搞混了。roast我查了下是属于放在烤箱indirect heat， 而grill是direct heat in an open atmosphere，我想大概就是戶外烤串那种烤箱了。

Yes, life long romance cannot be prepared with a kettle and simmering pot. That is too strong. You need a double boiler or bain-marie to cook that, 50 years ago, I heard the British Goverment asked the couples in uk to have water bath together, to save water and power. I think that is perfect for Maggie and Chris. Apart from the two advantages, it is a perfect time to simmer your love.
