Every Sniper in WW2

  • Recently we've watched a few Sniper scenes from such greats as Saving Private Ryan, and we realised this video had to be made. Sadly, a German ZF scope alone is almost a year's budget for us! So we figured out a way around that... Download Opera GX for free using our link: operagx.gg/Squire2.
    A lot of you have been asking where we get our equipment from; we've been using Colchester Militaria recently for all of our lovely, original WW2 guns - if you choose to check them out, let them know we sent you! They're on TH-cam ‪@colchestermilitaria1667‬ and their site is colchestermilitaria.co.uk

      @octaviovaladaoferreirinhad2689 ปีที่แล้ว +95

      @@orinik9332 Sure, it will be a pleasure. The Messerschmitt Me-262 was developed as super weapon to counter the allied strategic bombing campaign, it was heavily armed with four 30mm cannons and planned as an interceptor fighter. If the Luftwaffe had enough units, B-17 and B-24 losses would become unsustainably high, making daylight bombings impracticable. But not only the Germans were already having trouble fielding enough units due to material shortages, damage to industrial complexes, and reduction of available pilots, upon being presented to A. Hitler, he made a famous question: "Does it can carry bombs?" That resulting in the most advanced German fighter being used on a kind of mission it was not designed for (tactical bombing), further reducing its availability for the missions it was actually intended for. Among aviation's history enthusiasts this went down as a joke, because it is considered one, if not the biggest, of Hitler's blunders regarding German aviation. That's why Squire brought it here. I hope you enjoyed my answer.

      Fun fact: Reflection of the sunlight into a scope could reveal a sniper, and that's why the famous sniper Simo "White Death" Häyhä ditched his scope and relied only on his iron sights to snipe.
      That said, movies exagerate it as the sunlight isn't going to magically align against every scope in the city and reflect straight into normal infantry. It's easier to spot the sniper's "light" with a NCO's/Officer binocular or with your own sniper rifle, specially if you're on a situation like Stalingrad where you don't even have time to be looking around before getting a grenade on your face.

    • @Furzkampfbomber
      @Furzkampfbomber ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@mafia_boss_neto Fun fact: although you are of course correct with what you wrote about revealing reflections, this was not the reason why he did not use scopes or at least the least important reason for not using scopes, according to Häyhä's own statements.
      The more important/main reasons why he was not using scopes were that he wanted to provide a smaller target, since a sniper has to raise his head higher when using a scope, and that he wanted to prevent sight problems, since scopes have a tendency to get steamed over under conditions occuring in the finnish winter.

    I have definitely got to give you props for not just grabbing a normal Iron Cross, but one with a Swastiaka in it considering that’s what the Nazi’s Iron cross would look like. Though one thing to note the soldier won’t have been wearing it in a combat situation, but only during parades and special events.

      When one laughs, air comes out from the lungs and is modulated by one’s vocal cords. On Earth, air is largely composed of nitrogen and oxygen and these two elements can be combined. This is funny because that combination is sometimes called laughing gas.

    • @Furzkampfbomber
      @Furzkampfbomber ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@b.w.22 'Lol' is short for 'laughing out loudly' and 'sleep' can be an euphemism for 'death', so 'lol'd to sleep' means 'laughing unil one dies' which is funny. So I can say, I approve with your statement and I lol'd hard.
      'Hard' in this context actually does not mean that I was 'hard' or 'rigid', as in 'epileptic seizure that comes with an overly raised muscle tone', which would not be funny, but 'quite loud and extensively''.
      Oh god, I am dying here... 😁
      By the way, 'dying' in this context does not 'mean'... 🤣🤣🤣
      EDIT: I have to ask, is your profile pic from 'The Red Dawn'? The original from 1984, I mean, with good ol' Patrick? I am a connoisseur of movies from the 1980's, but I am not sure about this one.

      Lol what, of course they would be taken prisoner what are you talking about

    • @Pratt_
      @Pratt_ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@inisipisTV it's also more of a myth than anything, I guess they would be more likely to be victim of this kind of summary execution, but giving that they were use on the offensive, so less likely to be taken prisoner in the first place and usually they would have a protection detachment, to cover them in the first place, they were used to clear our fortified position and for them to come close enough it means that most of the enemy are already unable to shoot.
      So it would actually be extremely unlikely for a flamethrower soldier to end up in a situation where they would be captured.
