Technically they didn't even play on the continent, but on the island beside it, i think!

It was never active. We still didn't get to it. It's on our to-do list.
When you say that you (or Gunnar) wrote a song, does it consequently mean that you wrote it all alone? So don't you work together on the songs?
Speaking from my own experience, it is a time management and geographical issue. My band had members scattered over a large geographical area, some of them had kids, others worked nights, making our time together in the rehearsal room per month very limited. So we each wrote songs at home and brought them to each rehearsal for peer review.
It means Gunnar came up with the basic music ideas. I made the vocal melodies and arranged the choirs, and Gunnar and I made the general arrangement of the song together.
