- Hi friends,
On a tight timeline called for making these paintings in the most efficient way I could... one flowed with relative ease... the other one... I still don't think I am thrilled with it... but I've had to call it 'done'.
Making art ready for an Art Fair has been a great impetus to get stuff moving around here... so I'm bringing you along on that journey.
warm wishes
Denise

You can help...
Liking a youtube video is a great way to show your support... and in turn, TH-cam will show the video to more people... at least that is how I think it works. :)
If you’d like to make a small contribution in support of my work, shouting a cuppa will help me continue to create art, serve, connect and inspire others. Thank you so much for your kindness, I really appreciate it. DD x

THANK YOUUUU all your comments are so beautiful, I'm catching up after a bit of a busy couple of weeks, away etc... eeeep, and to edit and get this weeks video up - I'm a bit discombobulated with an ear thing going on.
Much warm appreciation to you all, and encouragement to do your thing. Love Denise x
💙 the blue of this heart pales in comparison to the gorgeous blues in your paintings. Claire is exquisite! Loved watching your process.

Thank you so much Dominika, I so appreciate your kind comments... I don't experiment nearly enough with colours... but this trio worked a treat. Limitless possibilities hey!? :)
Lovely work Denise. Good luck with your exhibition.

Awesome work. Prussian blue is my absolute favourite have been using it for years, it makes such a beautiful blue green. Love your work ❤
thank you Debbie... I'll have to try it with some more mixers... it's nice to have a change up from Pthalo Blue. and I like the sound of a beautiful blue green ! x ... with what yellow do you mean for that... or something else?
💙 kia ora Denise love seeing your process x
Kia ora Moana, thank you Lovely. 🙏🏻💚
Love!!! And thanks for the tip on masking fluid. Never heard of that stuff!
you're welcome... I just got some more last week... with a tiny thin applicator attached to the lid... and another one that was 1/2 the price of the one i had been using... so I've got new goodies to try out.
I really appreciate your honesty and transparency when sharing your art practice. It inspires me to keep going when I feel stuck or overwhelmed. Your work is unique and a joy to look at! Thanks! ❤PS I couldn’t find the blue heart emoji on my phone, but it’s there in spirit!

Wow Denise, very fascinating watching your process and listening to your thoughts and seeing where these paintings took you. "Claire" is absolutely delightful - I love the addition of the delicate neocolor lines that make up the floor rug.
Hi Debra, thanks so much for your kind and thoughtful response. I loved how that floor rung turned out too... and when I smoothed the gel medium over it to seal it.. it smudged a wee bit but not too much... I've been wondering about getting some Neo Collar 1 crayons.. they won't be water soluble.. which might be helpful. I seem to be reticent to use the crayola crayons... I wonder why .... 'not fancy enough' is not a good enough reason! haha. oh... may their pigmentation is not as great as the neo's. .... hmmm :)
Sliced fruit!

hello Denise, this was such a great video and it's so nice to see you working step by step.....love your paintings and wish you a successful exhibition ❤❤❤......can you please tell me how you seal your paintings .... you use acrylic paint and crayons .... do you fix the crayons before sealing?
Greetings from Germany
lake Constanze ❤️🍀🌞💐
Hi Jacqueline, thank you so much.
re sealing: I use a palette knife and seal my crayon marks in with Matte Medium - you could use gloss medium if you have that .. (I have tried spray fixative but found it behaved badly when I went to brush on varnish later.)
I let that dry... and then go ahead and use Satin Varnish by Liquitex to varnish my work, two coats, brushed on.
I think spray varnish could be better in some ways... but I don't like fumes etc.
thank you very much for the information....yes, I also don't like fixative spray....the idea with the palette knife or maybe the silicone brush is great ❣️🙏🙏🙏🙏
