Wow, I’ve been wondering how to do this, because my grandma’s 83 Coupe Deville has the same issue with the drivers side mirror. Thanks for the detailed tutorial.
Hi Anthony great video on repairing loose mirror Can you do a video on changing the cable that breaks inside the power antenna. You mentioned it on another video that you did were you re built the powered antenna motor assembly by changing the cable..
2006-11 DTS is weird too...have fixed a few... has 3 hidden bolts with nuts that get loose pretty much the same...they're under plastic part inside the vehicle...you gotta take the whole door panel off (pops off pretty easily tho) and bolts many times will just fall through. I tighten and add a lil blue loctite with. So when I see one I tell and/or fix cheap $25-30...cause dealers will try to charge 100s I've found. Like how many will probably say this job needs a new mirror...like you mention people say. Thanks for helping with lil stuff like this that end up $$ to many...most jobs can be taught this way bro man! We gotta stick together...love TH-cam folks for vids like this
Thank you Anthony for this video. Loose side view mirrors will absolutely drive you crazy. It's good to know that there's a simple fix for this problem, if you have flexible fingers, a magnetic screwdriver, and a good attitude!
Super helpful video. Mine has that problem and now i have a solution. Thank you. Looking forward to more how to videos on this generation of cadillacs🤙🤘
Wow! My 88 cadillac brougham has a loose mirror just like that, I'm so fixing it tomorrow thanks you so much I thought the mirror was broke! Just loose awesome
I had to buy a low profile offset screwdriver set for taking these screws off my 91 brougham that has been having this same issue since I got it. Very helpful video!
I knew you did a how to video for the side mirrors and boy did it come in handy! Let’s all ask Anthony to maybe give us a few more How To Videos whenever he can squeeze one in. Thanks Anthony!!👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks, Anthony, for the VERY helpful information. I have a '91 Brougham with exactly that problem. Your video is the good news. The bad news is that you have taken away the excuse (i.e., ignorance) that I've using to not fix the problem. I've had mechanics tell me there is no way to do the repair that I saw you do with my own eyes! It took you about 15 minutes or so. I expect that it will take me hours.
Great DYI video!!! Never had that mirror problem on my 1991 Brougham, but did have my power antenna quit on me. Also had the power antenna quit on my old 1992 Lexus SC300 and 1991 Buick Regal that I owned eons ago, so that isn't just a Cadillac problem, maybe show how to diagnose, fix/repair/grease/maintain/replace one of those jobs. Also I'd like to see a video on how to clean the wire hubcaps or "100 spoke Daytons", aka the real deal wire wheels.
Very nice, would you be able to make an antenna rebuild on the '90 - '92 and another on how to fix or upgrade the opera lights ? Future content for you and very helpful for us subs... Thanks again... great work...
'77-79's are different in that the mirrors are adjusted by a 3-wire tripod, no motor. It is possible to get to the base screws without removing the glass on the late 70's models
Very informative! Can you cover a video on removing a front door panel on the 90-92 Cadillacs where the seat belt is built into the door? I fought this on my dad's 88 Bonneville, what an awful project. I'd like to see your take on this project. Thanks!
This was a good video on repair loose mirror. I have a 1992 Cadillac Fleetwood FWD with under 49,500 miles on it. It has a few dings and dents, and someone hit the right rear quarter panel on it in a parking lot and knocked the lower part of the fender off. The interior is great. I need to find a new mirror glass for the driver side, because it has film on the mirror. Any suggestions?
I have a 1985 eldorado with power mirrors. If I tip the mirror down to the right for drivers side I can get at the one screw inside. A long thin phillip's head will allow with patience, to fully tighten the screw. Tight as can be without taking off the mirror
MMmmmm I dunno Anthony about this one. LOL I hate tiny screws in itty bitty areas. Maybe I"ll bring my 84 Biarittz to Specialty Motor cars. You'll have some time for me?
Well that's good to know when i need it, that's one of those little things that I never thought that I would need. What I am having problems with is that inside door panel, my handle broke and I just can't get it off, I've unscrewed every screw that I could possibly find there's something else that's holding that panel on, any help?
If anyone knows you would. Are the seats and door panels the same on a 76 coupe deville and a 76 Eldo coupe? thanks.I have a 76 coupe that needs seats and door panels.
My brother got a 1983 Eldorado Biarritz mirror same problem.. I don’t find nothing on the web about the shifter it seems like it’s loose or not in place R in not R n D is like on the 3 any tips thanx
Hi Anthony, that's the hard way to do it. Heat the mirror until the glue softens. There is a screw in the center after you remove it. Then on some there is a pin that has fallen out. Replace the pin. Loctite that in too. Then urethane glue the mirror back after your done.
Yep! they gotta make all the $$$ instead of helping take care of their legacy that is in serious trouble because of being that way. Charge a decent amount to fix stuff like this and they would have so much more respect as a great old luxury American car maker. Ijs
Out of curiosity ... The housing was warn because of the loose screws. Rather than relying on the old screws, old little lock washers and Loc-Tite, why didn't you put in new, fresh screws and slightly larger diameter internal star washers?
I got excited because the passenger side mirror on my Seville is loose, but unfortunately the mirror “casing” itself isn’t loose, it’s actually the glass that wobbles around. Every time I shut the door I have t adjust it again, haha
Taking. The whole mirror. Off amd. Replacing. It on a 84 coupe deville is different. To caddys with motors or that are electric, cause the 84 is a wire Control
You DON'T need to remove the glass mirror!!!!! I've done these loose Cadillac mirrors many times. You ONLY need a very long shaft Phillips screwdriver and a strong min-flashlight...easy Just tilt the mirror to max inward at the lower left. This will now open the top right exposing the 2 Phillips screws that hold the mirror housing to the pedestal. Tighten these 2 screws and Bob's your Uncle! ps..I also attached a Vice-Grips to the screwdriver and gave some more torque to the screws.
Thanks for watching one of my how to videos! Subscribe for more!

Excellent video!! Very helpful!!
Great video Anthony!!! Would you be willing to do a similar video on how to repair the seat recliner on these cars?
Thanks Anthony! If mine loosens up I’ll just sell the car and buy a new one with a tight mirror.

Awesome! How bout the fixing the anntenna that wont go down anymore on these Cadillacs?
Ironically it’s broken. So I will be doing it on this car
I need help with the after market windsheild wiper motors for these rear wheel drive caddys.
They don't hold up. Been through six so far.
Flexable shaft driver works great.
That would work well!
Take a shot of disaronno everytime anthony says locktight! :-D

Really good tutorial :) Greetings
My 78 has manual mirrors. The metal housing is fine but the mirror glass itself is really sloppy & they keep moving. How do I tighten those up please?
Hello Anthony I have a 92 deville and I need a passenger side mirror where can I get one
Interesting to see
I need some nice used 15 inch stock rimms do you have any for sale
Ragazzi you're a champion I will split that mirror into hundred pieces
Is it the same if its cable operated
Hi Anthony, that's the hard way to do it. Heat the mirror until the glue softens. There is a screw in the center after you remove it. Then on some there is a pin that has fallen out. Replace the pin. Loctite that in too. Then urethane glue the mirror back after your done.
I have been struggling with this for 8 years
Struggle no More!
GM Hates him because of this one simple trick! Watch now! 😂
Yep! they gotta make all the $$$ instead of helping take care of their legacy that is in serious trouble because of being that way. Charge a decent amount to fix stuff like this and they would have so much more respect as a great old luxury American car maker. Ijs
Pretty much all the 70s-80s GM box cars up to the early 90s have those box mirrors with the 2 screws.
I give you 4 American 🦅🦅🦅🦅 great job.
Nice video my friend! -Ernesto
Nice to know
Você tem aí um Ford crown victoria 1994
Fantastic!
You are thee man!
That's a newer model what about the ones like 86 87 88 89 brougham's is the process the same ??? Mine is loose
Looks like a very fiddly job. I would be afraid of breaking the mirror glass, more than anything else.....but I must say, Job well done 👍.
Is it the same for passenger mirror
Yes!
7:53 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Sahhhseeeeech!!
Out of curiosity ... The housing was warn because of the loose screws. Rather than relying on the old screws, old little lock washers and Loc-Tite, why didn't you put in new, fresh screws and slightly larger diameter internal star washers?
hi to you and to your papa bear 😎🐼
👍
I have just mirrors loosely
I got excited because the passenger side mirror on my Seville is loose, but unfortunately the mirror “casing” itself isn’t loose, it’s actually the glass that wobbles around. Every time I shut the door I have t adjust it again, haha
👍🏾👍🏾
Yo!!! Good looking out haha idiot was trying to put that inner screw in with the mirror on....
Fill the hole with loctite
Needs a quality magnetic screwdriver. And a lot of patience.
Taking. The whole mirror. Off amd. Replacing. It on a 84 coupe deville is different. To caddys with motors or that are electric, cause the 84 is a wire Control
Why you have that mirror up side down wax it good for Grand MA 😅😅😂❤
Hey that yarn is older than you be respectful
Quit screwing around
That's too much for a caddy homie
Dude you don’t have the right tools there you hurt my eyes watching you do tis
This might work for my Ford expedition.
You DON'T need to remove the glass mirror!!!!!
I've done these loose Cadillac mirrors many times.
You ONLY need a very long shaft Phillips screwdriver and a strong min-flashlight...easy
Just tilt the mirror to max inward at the lower left. This will now open the top right exposing the 2 Phillips screws that hold the mirror housing to the pedestal. Tighten these 2 screws and Bob's your Uncle!
