Oh! You got a very clever idea! Yes, it's helpful to make a big trunk for the tree by putting the small pot on a bigger container. So the tree can have enough nutrient to thrive into desirable size.

Hello from Lakeland Florida. You can buy a tree from growers in Florida. Artisan Bonsai in Tampa FL sale the trees. You can call Joe and he will make it happen. I purchase a few from him and the tree grow fast. Can't take anything Bellow 40 degree's.

I have a question, I planted four seeds in a 5" pot, not for bonsai, but to grow trees, now it is about two inches seedlings, when is the best time to separate it to individual pots
The problem I have with this design is that we don't have winter season in our country! 😂
We are all trained to make bonsai the Japanese way and by that we make the mistake of making most of our trees look like pine! That is the biggest challenge of all.. 🤔
I on the other hand try not to make my trees look like bonsai but rather I try to make them look like trees I see in nature.. 🤗
