Definitely going to need a hammock under there. I can just imagine how relaxing it would be in a late summer rainfall, wind chimes and listening to the rain drops on the metal roof while swinging in a hammock sipping some sweet tea...a beautiful oasis on the homestead! Well done gentlemen - it looks amazing!

I’ve been thinking of casting beams and posts and rafters because wood is hard to find in the desert and isn’t bug proof. Then this video popped up. Now I need to clone myself. I’m glad someone has family that works together. They are very fortunate. Bravo.

Great work, Gary and Bryson! I was thinking after the beams went up and before you put the roof on, "They've built their own little Parthenon!" And then you had the same idea with your comments at the end. :-) It looks really good. You guys are geniuses when it comes to constructing unusual roofs. Shelly, I love watching Bullet bring his toy (or stick) back to have it thrown again endlessly. All the close-ups of the eager expression on his face were so cute as he placed it on your lap. Bullet must be the consummate optimist - always hopeful that someone will throw his toy for him. It was fun to see Shae in this video, too, and to hear her voice from behind the camera.

@@kirkmartin2223 Trust me around here they would be a welcome sight. Not sure if it is the wind, normal is avg 40mph or if it is because we are in the proximity to White Sands Missle Range and the site where they exploded the first atomic bomb, but without a TON of bringing in or amending soil not much grows here.

I choose North. I am impressed with the process, results. Excellent work Gary & Brandon: building it. Shelly( camera),Bullet on distraction attempts with a chicken leg. I have some of the hurricane straps to build a small 2x4 garden bed: they were out of right angle clips when I went to buy the ingredients for it. (Hopefully, they'll work well)

Hello from Thailand, I love it when mom says to Bryson something about him wearing flip-flops. Here in Thailand you will find construction workers going up seven stores of bamboo scaffolding with flip-flops or just barefooted to get to the roof that is at a very steep angle. They will climb to the top of the roof wearing no safety equipment either. You rarely ever hear of any of them getting hurt.
Do I recommend doing this? No but if you feel comfortable, why not. Bryson is a smart kid and I have no doubt that if he felt uncomfortable doing it he would put other shoes on.
Love the way you all work together to get everything done. A true family that has everything together. A very rare thing in today's world.
    God bless you all.

I am impressed with your completed roof, and look forward to how you "finish" the surface of those aircrete beams. Been building for 45 years, but had never run across "aircrete" before. The metal roof is a great idea - there are so many more options for them now. Brilliant change on the house to give you clean rainwater. FYI: Most roof to cistern systems back when had a diverter to the ground for the first water from a rainstorm to clear the dust off before storing clean water. (Maybe you already have that, but "never assume". ;-)

I love it. Especially this last phase it was Gary and Bry working together. You can tell how much he loves his Dad. Gary and Shelley have taught there children so much mostly love and respect and to help build not only tangible things but to build each other up. Sadly many families no longer understand that. Love how Shae said Goodbye.
When you get your outdoor kitchen going it's going to be fantastic. Hoping you do something along the lines of a jet stove and oven combo. That way in winter time it will be warm and still create a low carbon footprint. You wont need gas or charcoal. Also with a jet stove you can have hot and cold water to cook with and wont need power. Especially if its gravity fed. Dont mind me that's my fantasy out door and indoor off grid kitchen lol.

Wonderful Aircrete structure. It looks like the Parthenon. It looks so Greek with the columns and roofline. What the hail? The butterfly video was beautiful and the music blended so well with it. Assembled! No visible means of support. Purlins. Outdoor kitchen? Cool! Metal roof, so much easier. No underlayment? It could get very hot under that roof. Keep the sides open! Nice flashing job on the roof off the house! You should have Gary as God's face and Bryson as Adam's face floating in the clouds like on the Sistine Chapel! That would be so GOOD! You need to have Bree paint that for you on the front gable of the Patio Roof! Please, please, please!!! I think that would be so perfect. You know, and have lightning across the gap between the reaching fingers. That would make a statement for that construction. I hope other people think that would be a good idea too. I think it only makes sense to create the finishing "touch" for the building. A God inspired mural, done very tongue in cheek. Maybe painted on the inside of the gable end if thought too "offensive"? It is a structure worthy of a Sistine Chapel inspired mural. Don't you agree?

I love your channel. Your channel and families adventure is what got me interested in alternative building. After watching a few episodes I started researching and hopefully in two years I will be in a place where I can start my own build.

You should make it barn and/or workshop out of aircrete/foamcrete.
The point of the roof points North?

Looks like Shae was filming. All those great flower and back yard shots look magical.

Looks amazing! I think you need another little rain storm now, because I think sitting under that tin roof watching the rain and hearing it patter on there would be lovely :)
