March Of The Ants: The Ultimate Review

Today I will present to you my review for a wonderful 4X game called "March of the Ants" and its expansions.
Join me while we discover together the meadow and the strength of the ants when they work together.
We will explore new parts of the meadow, expand our colony to new collection sites, exploit the different resources and try to exterminate the rival colonies.
On they way to victory we will upgrade our ants with evolution cards, we will score more points for colony goals and even consume other ants, as an event, in order to have more food.

Especially when it's a good game like this one. I understand TH-camrs wanting to advertise/show tue new cool expensive things.. it's their job after all.. but here is my advantage, doing this purely as a hobby, so I guess I can stay more 'true' to my actual taste in games.

I love this game. It's not new and hot now, but it's still crazy good.

And personally, I couldn't care less for what's nee and popular since in most cases, those games die after that quick fire.

That game is a banger! I really enjoy the artwork, because it's completely different. It gives me a "children entomology book" vibe.

I have yet to play this game only because it seems to be hard to find. Thank you for your review because now it is back on my radar. Ever since SimAnt (showing my age), I've had a soft spot for ants.

To be honest, I'm a bit 'afraid' of everything that has the word 'Dice' in their title. Now that I'm writing this, I'm not even sure why..? Haha I'll check this game out and if it looks cool- I'll be happy to add it to my collection 😊
Oh yes.. I backed Voidfall (Galactic box) although after playing Perseverance I'm a bit worried that those miniatures won't be as cool as I thought. I think Mindclash totally over-produced Perseverance, but I'll talk about it more in my next video when I'll rank their games to my taste.

@@ezbgames I made the mistake of asking David Turczi about 4x games and he recommended Dice Settlers and then mentioned his upcoming (at that time) project Voidfall. It will be my first Mindclash game and I have yet to get through the unboxing video without fainting. So I get your comment about overproduction. 😅

Mindclash are an amazing company with some good (but ambitious) projects.
Their game Trickerion is my favorite of all times! Even though I prefer strategy (war like) games over euro.
So I hope they'll do good!

I actually had the chance to find it in a second hand website (but it was new in shrink!!) for 80€ with the expansions.
In BGG I can see some listings, but it depends where you live and how much would you like to spend..

What are the drawbacks of the game?
Well, for the first edition, the material is very basic. So it might not be the most beautiful game.
The 2nd edition does try to address this issue.
I would also say that this game is probably not the best at 2 players.
Besides that, for a light weight game it's pretty great 😊
This I haven't seen.
