    They got to 52 weeks somehow with 12 themes... I think they put 5 weeks in Months 3, 8, 9, and 10? Odd choice.

    I am definitely using it as a wellness journal. It will be the "work" i do on my personal goal of working on me. It has great prompts and is so unorthodox that I am not flustered or caught up in the calendar or scheduling. I definitely could not schedule in it, but it can help me remember to stay focused on each of the monthly themes.

    I loved the beautiful photos all throughout the planner, and also Oprah's writing. I also grew up watching Oprah.😉I agree, to me this is not an agenda. If I had it, I would use it as a gratitude journal.

    I love bound books so that's a great feature for me. I see this as more of a mental health and wellness journal more than a planner. I couldn't use this for planning but I think this would be amazing for working on yourself. I might think about this for 2023 since I'm already working in my 5 year hobonichi, a Bible journal, and a regular journal (stalogy)

    • @AmandasFavorites

    The thing I like about this one is that it runs for a year at a decent price. There are very few wellness/self care journals that cover a year. Most are 90 days and I need a wellness journal that goes through a year and I don't want to pay through the nose for it. While I like Silk and Sonder, it's cost prohibitive for me for a year. I think it ends up being $189 for a annual subscription. Yeah it's a monthly $15.75 a month, but it's more than I would pay for a wellness journal. This is more of a mental and spiritual health journal and it doesn't have some of the items I like including goal setting, habit trackers and such. I have found some great wellness journals, but they usually have an agenda included and I am retired, so I wouldn't use those. I would really like to see someone develop a wellness/self care journal for retirees. There is nothing out there for the baby boomers.

    I got this and thought of using it as a daily planner, but there is not enough info in it. I use oracle card, so this is a great planner for that or like others have stated a Wellness journal, you can track your food and how you did that week with working out or eating, self reflecting. I may start using mine in March for a wellness journal to track my progress for the goals I wish to reach. Great video!

    Hmmmmmm, looks like Oprah has been taking peeks at the Planner Community huh? Lol. However, it’s not really sparking any desires for me to purchase it. I agree it may be great for someone that needs prompting to discover there, ‘why am I here’ type journey, but no, I’ll pass, when you’re over 50 you tend to know what you’re here for.

    It might be a good planner for those going through recovery or a huge change in their circumstances/season of life and embarking on their new life - very introspective. I'm totally with you Amanda I love a seasonal planner. I bought the Daisy Planner based on your review and use it for my daily environmental actions. For this use it doesn't have to fit the actual season it's in (my preference too) just has to show beauty of nature. As for the Oprah planner - I think there is a pretty limited niche as to who would use and benefit from it - but if it's somebodies thing - it's all good :)

    Thanks for the peak! I think I may use the monthly themes and reflection questions as prompts in my new 5 year journal. I used prompts in the 5 year journal I just completed and was looking for some inspiration for the next one! I also really appreciate this version of the wheel of life because it focuses on values compared to the traditional areas of life like Makselife uses.

    • @AmandasFavorites
      @AmandasFavorites  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point on the wheel of life:) And what a creative idea to use the questions as prompts in your 5 year journal:)

  • @wwaxwork
    @wwaxwork 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    This is definitely more touchy feely planners than most and that's not a bad thing, but it doesn't really feel like a planner to track our to dos in but more a journal and a way to track a introspective journey which is great but trying to capitalise on the planner craze by calling it a planner feels disingenuous. Having said that, there are a lot of planners and journals out there that do this better with more guidance, but they are 2 or 3 times the cost and might only last 1/4 not a whole year. The wheel of life that they and Makse use is pretty old school and I always find it confusing and would just like a nice bar graph to track these things.

    IMO, you’re finding 4 wks, rather than the needed 5 in undated, bc this is likely a marketing tool (gimmick, if you will) rather than quality/functional planner. It’s like any business calendar, or toaster from the bank (back in the day); only Oprah planner is $25 & comes with option to sign up for companion lifestyle guidance on her website. Oprah corp wants customer contacts, in the end, so they can engage you & sell/promote other mech.

    This reminds me of something you can get at like a Barnes & Noble bookstore in the sale section. And the binding and printing on some of the pages was bad. Like around 11:22 and 16:29. What is that yellowish band on the pages that goes from the top to bottom of the page? And as mentioned, the binding as well looks bad. For a first attempt, I am not impressed with it.

    Enjoyed watching your review of the Oprah planner. I agree it is more of a wellness goal planner and not an agenda planner. I like a coil also so probably wouldn't like the binding. I would just like to read it and I like the pictures. I'm past the point of life where I want to do such a big reflection so I don't plan to buy it. The for all your videos!!

      @AmandasFavorites  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally hear ya on the "past the point where I want to do such a big reflection"! LOL. Especially for an entire year. Honestly I'd probably pick the themes I like the most and would never do the full year in it.

  • @asheirahs_nook

    As a novice bookbinder, I was really unimpressed with the quality of the binding itself. even for a 25 dollar planner, this should've been excecuted much better. It's not horrible, but it would bother me to no end personally. the planner part itself seems quite interesting though ^^

    Those dated months could mean a couple of things. Month 10 is October. Or Month 10 is the 10th month of your progress. All depends on how you look at it and do it. Same with the weeks. Your first week of starting. Or the first week of the year for example.

      @@AmandasFavorites - They should have put in more neutral colors on some of those pages. Do we really need pink? For a book with pictures of nature in it, how about colors that go with the pictures?
      Like have a very light copy of a picture of nature that goes along with the one at the start of the month?
