India in test won a series in England India won series in West Indies India won a test match in South Africa Successful in odi chase Finally succumb in World Cup Attitude towards cricket at that time was different it was more on talent and technique rather than fitness.
All because of unnecessary experiments, Dravid was made to open , Tendulkar was pushed to number 4 , pathan was made to bat at number 3. Same experiments under Gambhir now might affect indian cricket again
Why day ODI matches not held now? I my childhood and younger days, very rare ODI day night matches used to be held, one or none in the series. Given the fact that most of the associations didn't have their own stadiums or stadiums without lights. Now every stadium has its own stadium with not only lights but world class facilities, good seating arrangements for crowds. crowds. I remember matches in Vadodara and Rajkot used to have temprery stands with tent fabric roofs, which looked very down market. Now proud to have so many world class stadiums. But having flood lights doesn't mean that we should not have day matches. Happy to have few day matches last world cup. I know day matches are less revenue generater for broadcasters, but we can at least stag on Sundays and holidays. Really miss day ODI.
