Great observation. It is such a breath of fresh air to see Mark display his knowledge and respect for his customers AND the products he represents. Class Act right there.
Mike you bring back so many memories. i sold the hydraulic bent tube assemblies, Hose, fittings and attachment quick connects. My family owned a rubber hose plant and we made hand built rubber hose from 2"Id to 72"ID up to 50 ft long. The concrete hose we made had rubber lined steel nipples with flanged, Victaulic, or beaded ends for chemicals and abrasive materials. When the swage machines grew in Id sizes, hose mfg started making spiraled hose in long lengths and cutting them to the size that was needed. If you look at a hose that looks like it has markings ( like a barbershop sign at 16 second point in video), It is from the tape being wrapped in a spiral method to pull the tube, reinforcement and cover together before going into the autoclave for curing. A funny note most of our Oil suction and discharge hose that was used to unload an ocean tanker or river barge came with a sun resistant cover. All we did was use cotton tape instead of nylon to wrap the cover. It broke up the sun rays hitting the cover. Made us a few extra dollars. Parker Hannifin now owns our hose plant in Salisbury NC. sorry to keep commenting but I thought you might find this interesting.
The concrete pump attachment, was a neat setup. The AVANT…it was Very informative with great details . I think he will get some major sales… after people hear everything on this video.
Thanks for the update on the AVANT! After your last video, I googled it and went to the website. Someone else called it a swiss army knife - true! I'm just a retired hobbyist, and not generating income with machines, so it's a little out of my price range. Still, I could always rent one for a day/week like you're doing. Can't wait to see what else you use it for.
Bet Tom was pumped about this. And both of you guys are experiencing learning curves as practice makes perfect. But these specialized machines are back savers as well as time savers.
I just love how you research things, and do the math. That is a remarkable machine. With all the roads you maintain, and the projects Levi or other family may want done in the future, couldn't you keep the skid steer? I guess you could rent one, but you've got a terrific machine in that track loader. You definitely can get your money back w the Avant. Another nice video this morning, as always. Thanks for sharing.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
Agree 100%! And, frankly, I think Avant would be not just smart, but doggone BRILLIANT, if they let Mike have one of these big machines for a 2-year loaner program like the Kubota tractors. Without a doubt, Avant would get a level of user-based advertising that they cannot possibly provide in any other way. I'll bet their investment in giving Mike a "loaner" for a couple of years would generate more sales such that the sales income would eclipse the cost of their loaning one to Mike. Shoot! I'll bet Mike could even carry one on a trailer to some of the shows he attends and generate a whale of a bunch of interest from expo-goers. Seems like a slam-dunk to me.
Nice piece of equipment. Tell him to fashion a blowout cap to clean those hoses with compressed air. Easy to make and it’ll make clean up alot faster. Also needs to cut the metal end off of the discharge hose for safety. If air gets introduced into the line it can cause a hose whip and that metal end becomes deadly really quickly. Good stuff.
Hello! 😊 Many thanks to Mark for pointing out some of the intricacies of the Avant machine. With an articulated machine that has the cab on the front axle, one has to be very aware of what the rear portion of the machine is doing. Most articulated loaders have the cab attached to the rear portion of the machine so this is less of a problem.
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgansA concrete pump without a boom is very labor intensive and has limited application. Tom could have run some soupie mix concrete thru the hose before he attempted a reverse clean and maybe it would have sucked the pig back. I think he will only use this pump when there is no other practical option, like pouring concrete inside a building. One needs to keep in mind that pumping concrete reduces the slump by around an inch at the discharge because of heat due to friction inside the hose. So 5 inch slump in, results in 4 inch slump out from by my personal experience.
Great video. Tom has a lot to "experience/learn" but should get the best of pumping if he chooses. Retired contractor, pumped concrete since pumps were invented. Love the Avant machines and can see one in your future. Much more useful than a dump truck at this point. Pick up a used dump if necessary. Invest in the Avant. Thanks for the good content.
That concrete pump is nice once you figure it all out. The rep from Avant explained a lot of good stuff about that loader which really makes it appealing. But I don't think I could ever be without my skid steer after running them for over 50 years.
Good Morning !Thank You for showing me the IBC totes. tip is to use 1/2 inch pipe wrap and zip ties on the cut framework to prevent clothes and body parts being damaged. the bladders cut in half make great elevated garden planters.
That was very informative and that guy Mark knows his machines. Thanks for sharing. Mike you always outdo your last information video. Keep them coming.
Mike, great video. I believe you would benefit from the Avant 860i in your equipment inventory. Lots to learn on that dude! Thanks for sharing. Oh and I am an avid metal detectorist too, just like Mark.
Wow, talk about being informed. That fellow knows Avant machines inside & out in his sleep. Hes definitely the right one to be touring and answering questions or reaching new owners how to use them. The only thing I didn't hear is the pride of a well optioned largest model like you rented there.I can't imagine the word cheap or inexpensive would explain the price. What an addition to your arsenal of machines, though. I seen the black stripes on the sides so tell them you want orange stripes on the side to match the rest of the machines you have.
Hi Mike, I will have to watch Tom's video to see how he likes that concrete pumper. Mark is definitely knowledgeable about this product and attachments, seems like a solid machine.
I must say mike that is an awesome machine 👏. For our 5 acre property here in North western Canada I think this would suit us wayyyy more than a skid steer. Thank you for renting it and showing it to the rest of us. Just phenomenal 👏 😎
5/7/24...big Wow on that Avant articulated wheeled loader with...dozens of attachments. Thought it was an Italian made but no..Finland 🇫🇮..by a dairy farmer 55 years ago! Wow! Am not aware of many HD equipment machines comming from 🇫🇮 Finland, but this one, with sooo many attachments...looks like a winner! Much enjoyed this video today Mike...starting with Tom Hause & that cc pumping machine attached to his CAT skid steer. Hope Tom gets his hose jammed up with cc all cleared/cleaned out! He really does need a pumper but think it's gotta be a more HD unit via your very hilly geography. Thx again for today's equipment review. ✅️👍💪⚙️🚜😊
Very good video thanks for stopping by,my brother has run these where he works and keeps saying this thing has over 200 attachments, unbelievable and they love it
Well that is awesome that a factory rep came out and talked about the machine. I was wondering about an adapter plate especially for someone like yourself Mike with all the attachments you have
If I was Avant, I would make the hydraulic adapter and skid steer adapters loss leaders or at least low cost options on new machines. The proprietary connections are going to turn away certain people who have a lot of attachments already. Don't make the mistake John Deere made with their proprietary attachments and then have outside vendors charge an arm and a leg for an adapter.
I saw the pump and thought you might be putting in a Pool. I and my family have been in the development/construction industry for as long as I remember. We use concrete/gunite pumps for tie beams and pools. Anyway. Enjoy your videos. Terry&ThePirates South Florida
I've pumped a LOT of concrete and never seen anything like that. It was probably about a 1 inch slump. Kind of stiff but needed for the open bottom of the forms.... well done.
I have to say Mike, that Avant is a Swiss army knife of a machine. Sounds like they've thought of every permutation, but if you go to them with request, they're innovative enough to develop something to add to the inventory. Very impressive implement.
Just back from a long stay in Florida ... glad to be back home. I can see i missed a number of video's and have a lot of catching up to do. This was a very informative review and it's amazing the thought and features that went into this design. Great machine for sure :)
Mike, thank-you for showcasing this equipment, even more than that, thank-you for showcasing "good People". Tom and Mark are textbook examples of Men who care about their livelihoods, community, customers, products, workmanship. These men and men just like them, built North America. In contrast, these ethics are being systematically eroded with the open borders. I am not being mean here, I am just bringing awareness to what our future may hold.
Mike,I’m sure 👍 that you’ll be fine with what you already know about equipment but it doesn’t hurt having someone else filling you in about other stuff 😮😊❤
When I was a young man I had lots of seat time in the big Cat wheel loaders. I noticed that the AVANT is like the old Huff loaders of my day. On the Cat the operator rode with the engine. On the Huff you rode with the bucket. After years of riding with the engine getting on one that you rode with the bucket, made for some very awkward things to happen.
As soon as I seen the pumper my first thought was how do you clean the hose. the same thing Tom said when you started interviewing him. He'll figure it out and make it efficient as possible. AVANT machine is cool. Like you I think the Hydraulic and electrical line connection system is really cool. Just give it some time, some one will come out with a conversion kit for all machines who have that type of connection.
Looks like you could use a hydrolic dump trailer. You could make money with it use it in your log yard rent it out 250.00 per day plenty of used for it. I like this price of equipment you have been testing out as long as it can replace other pieces of equipment and you could sell some others. Thanks for the post love watching this channel
Mike - Turf tires are best for snow traction because the tread pattern has the highest lateral sipe density among the tire types that would be used on this type of machine.
GOOOOOOD MAAAAAAAAWNIN EVERYONE!!…Nice review Mike. Looking forward to watching you use the heck out of it this week. Great observation. It is such a breath of fresh air to see Mark display his knowledge and respect for his customers AND the products he represents. Class Act right there.

Outstanding episode on both new pieces of equipment. Avant has a nice product line. Even have a chipper attachment.👍👍👍
Starting to see these replacing skid steers in municipalities. Far more visibility, easier on tires, far more versatility.

Hows David today, what do you think of that concrete pumper? Tom isn't sure

That would be a good place to use his mini excavator for holding the hose
