  • What’s in Pastor Ross’s office library?
    Who are his favorite authors?
What are some good biographies, reference works and practical books to read?
I’ll share with you my favorites that I use, good reference tools, and general reading categories.
I’ll also show you my office and you’ll get the gist of what my office is like.

I am reading The Cost of Discipleship with a brother right now, absolutely mind-blowing!

Really enjoyed this from what I watched. Your enthusiasm, especially explaining key doctrines like substitutionary atonement and faith, is infectious!

Hi Pastor Ross. It was really interesting seeing all the books in your office. I noticed a few that I have on my own reading list. One series You quickly mentioned was A Brakel's A Christians Reasonable Service. I have had that one my list for a while. Just curious what your thoughts were on it?

So many great books… and we have so many of the same… but I must say you read more broadly than I usually do! I should change that!

"There are a couple of things in my library that are strange." I thought it was just books until you showed the mannequin head.

    No Arthur Pink?

I appreciate AW Pink, I have his sovereignty of God but I’ve never gotten around to buying his other works such as his gleanings from Genesis and so on. But good reminder!

I'm from a very conservative pentecostal denomination who thinks it is the only true church. It is Hans Kung and Schleiermacher makes me to stay in Christianity and consider the identity is worth living. Just some reflection to your book collection :P

While there are some things that are certainly interesting regarding the thoughts and views of Kung and Schleiermacher, they should not be followed for a host of reasons, as they undermine the Christian Faith. I would encourage you to read and pull from more bible-believing teachers. But thank you for sharing!

@@thenerdypastor2778 Thank you for the suggestion.
I used to read many authors around Vatican II, theology of liberation and Moltmann. I thought I was done with conservative Christianity. Yet, I'm currently reading Calvin, Bavinck and Thomas Watson. I might probably won't touch these books for my whole life, but your video makes me feel interesting about these Christian minds especiall when you said that you used to read several pages of Calvin as daily devotion.
I used to be very conservative, and I have no plan to be that again. I know we might have many differences about theology, but I still learn a lot from your videos. I do appreciate how you read and think in doctrines in your daily life.
No offence. Just want to let you know something you don't like might still help people like me. And, your videos are really helpful for me to understand these books. :)
