This is BRILLIANT. Can save so much time and money. Doll hair is not cheap.
You can also make doll hair from brushed out acrylic yarn. I usually get a pretty big bunch for like a buck
@@synneatssin im aware 👍 however once brushed out it might not be very long, yes you can layer them but -
@@purrari I make tails out of yarn with that exact method for cosplays and trust me, if you very carefully brush can get decent lengths, if you go for fully synthetic yarn you can easily have a length for up to 20/30 cm I'd estimate.

You have no idea what you have just done! My mom is 8th generation seamstress and we have so much ribbon is no funny, an I've just took up doll customizeing. 😍 Been chewing through our yarn but I'm running out of the cheap stuff an I'm not going to tear appart an 60$-90$ scane of yarn just for a doll. This is a wonderful idea! Ty for sharing~

I like your idea it's easy to make doll hairs in other video they use wool, thin rope, and etc.but I like your idea most because it's too easy to make and we can choose our favorite color such as red ,pink ,black, brown etc. So I have liked your video.

Instead of putzing around with such tiny threads, I wonder if you could thread the ribbon through the top of the head and then fray it? But maybe it has to be this order to look decent!

I never tried to root doll hair before so could u tell me what is keeping it from coming back out of the hole?? Do I use a glue or something ??
Hey, my doll’s hair holes was realy tiny and when I burned one edge of the ribbon it become realy thick end, and didn’t come off. But probably all Barbies has same hair holes as tiny as mine. As you can see I brushed them enormously and nothing thing come off.
I recommend you just squeeze some good glue into the inside of the doll’s head
Tie a knot.
@@lendahofer9750 do not do that. Use fabric tack glue or any fast drying glue.
@@lendahofer9750 to explain further, tying the hair off will cause the vinyl head to rip.

yes the hairs will remain for long time because of glue
