Love this tool! You showed how to use it in many other videos. Last summer (2020) thanks to all Your videos and tools I painted my house. Thank you for inspiring, providing tools and explaining important details! Now I am getting ready to pain my 2nd house. I purcharsed too many cool tools that you recomended that I will try now. It is my art project!
Hey Chris, love your videos ! I personally use this tool every day and I think it’s great , definitely one of those things you gotta get the hang of but once you got it down , it takes your prep efficiency to another level.
Man, I've been trying to figure this thing out, in the store, prior to purchase. Thanks for the tutorial & endorsement. You justified my purchase. Starting out is rough; so many needs & so many gimmicks... Love the Show!!! 👍🤠👍
The m3000 saves 5 minutes every single time I use it. If I spend 10 minutes using the hand masker then I’m 100% sure it would have taken me 50 minutes to do the same task the old school way. With enough experience, The m3000 + airless sprayer + some cardboard shield = job security
Hi Chris! Nice to see all these videos! I know how much time you take each day demonstrating helping and educating painters and DIY’s Ver much appreciated Cheers! The gooseneck guy! Don
I first saw this tool several years ago bought it and love it. I can’t even begin to tell you how many I have sold from people using it once that they bought one for themselves! Home run tool for 3m
got one yesterday but practice at the house before i try it customers house. you be show people like me to put paint where it aint feel me. thanks I dont have the hang of it yet
I couldn't figure out why I was having such a hard time with mine when I changed to a different width tape and then discovered the adjustment that can be made on the marsker. Easy peasy after that.
Your blade looks longer than the one that came on mine. Also I didn't know that the blade can be adjusted for different widths of tape LOL. Once I found that out it worked wonderful! LOL thanks
I know this is late on your video but since you know so much I’ve been using a mask for like 30 years and I still don’t know what markings at the top of the part four when you look straight down above the handle what are they for?
Chris if i could get your opinion on how long you actually need bare wood to dry before you prime and paint that would be amazing..i am a painter and i do know that after pressure washing a deck or anything with exposed bare wood outdoors that it needs to dry thoroughly for about a solid week of hot dry weather for all the moister to leave the wood..but im wondering if you think a few solid hot dry days would be good enough..i live in western PA and we have NOT had more than 3 days this summer without freaking rain.and it is really really screwing me up on finishing 3 deck jobs i have going.ive been trying to get them done for months but its been so wet and i just want to know if you think its safe to prime and paint after only a few days good drying

What attaches to the top? Not the black hanger hook but under that is a yellow plastic attachment area on the top of the device. What is that for? Any ideas or experience with that?
Chris what is your rule on leaning side to side for ladder safety? I was always taught that you shouldn’t extend past where your belt buckle is. Looks like you followed those guidelines.
I really like the handheld masker, but the stabilizer thingy always come out of the end of the paper or plastic roll and there are times I don't realize it until I cut the paper and it's not even. They need to install some notches or stops or something for each size roll so it stays in place.
This is why I came here. That thing comes out of the roll all the time for me and it's driving me (more) insane! I need to know any and all ideas on how to stop that from happening! Thank you guys. Put a little tape on the end eh?
I'd like to see what that blade actually looked like. you keep waving it I never got to see it. does it have a plastic protective shield or guard on that one. I'm not sure if I have a blade for paper or plastic. Seems tome you tore through that plastic a way easier than me. then again my arms aren't half the size of yours.
Whoa, it's almost like you saw me struggling to get my hand masker to work right this morning. For some reason, the tape kept rippling and not rolling out smooth 🤔🤔
Had a hard time figuring what tapes worked with it. I was trying to mask off a wood floor n useing 1.88 width frog tape. Wasted a lot of time, tape n paper. The only thing I learned is you can't use frog tape on this masker. How do you save time if you have to use frog tape by hand first n then go over it with the masker loaded with 3/4inch 3m tape????????
@@Shanegla 2:25 notice how that blade has a dongle that you attach to the bottom opening of the plastic? That helps you cut a perfectly straight line. If you use the other blade that doesn’t have that attachment then you’ll have wavy lines…so what I’m trying to say is buy the expensive blade so you’ll have straight lines

I really needed this tutorial. I was struggling with how to use the hand masker and now I know how. Thank you.

Yeah I was wondering about that too. I can't find any blades longer than 12"
Couldn’t do my job efficiently without one 👍🏻
Agreed
I used a M3000 today taping a a house to paint its exterior. I keep two handi maskers, one for paper and one for plastic.
Mine didn't have a stabilizer for the bottom of the roll. It's awesome and saved me a ton of time.
Nice

Great. I own 6 of them. Used to use bostich.
I can’t keep the tape from running off the paper. Pulling it straight out not at an angle. Any tips?
Great masking machine
How wide of basking tape do you use?
I've never seen you use the accessory shoe on the M3000.

I love that thing :D
Do you use a tray arm ?

Old old accessory that is not longer available

safety first
Ive been using this everyday metal blade with paper

Yeah me to, I just put a small bit of masking tape on the end and that stops it from sliding anywhere.
This is why I came here. That thing comes out of the roll all the time for me and it's driving me (more) insane!

Yes it has a plastic guard on it.

@edgar zarate this was a brand new roll of frog tape, fresh out of the plastic box. I switched to a 3M roll and it was much better.

I got one but I just noticed that I got my blade upside down I think
How do I get to see the private videos why so many private videos is there a membership 🤣😅🤣
Whoever dislike didn’t figure out how to load a masker.
Stabilizer? Dude. Mine doesn’t have a stabilizer. I’ve never seen that before.
yeah dropped mine off a ladder onto the top of my hand..... cuts skin like butter too 0_0
I have an amazing scar on my forearm, it's like a perfect little human flesh saw lol
👏🏽
Never used it ¯\(°_o)/¯
Looks cumbersome.
You think it's worth the money does it save time?
It saves toooooons of time.
Does it make a perfect straight line?
Sometimes mine cuts a little wavy.
