    Although I am not a teenager I still remember one of my first auditions. It was a few years ago (I’m a college student) and I remember I was very nervous that I was sweating a little and shaking. I felt ashamed. I still wanted to audition and did the best I could. I’m improving on confidence and accepting my nervousness. I find it usually helps. :)

      try turning your nervousness into excitement, a simple "I am excited" whenever nervous seriously helps me

      I went to my first audition in college. I suggest if you’re in high school then taking drama would be a place to start. I think it’s also important for actors to read books on acting and the business of acting. Hope this helps!

    I have always wanted to be an actor since I was 8 but it's hard to see what is available around me because I live in Ireland and there isn't always big projects near me. I'm 14 now and I have gone to an acting school for 3 and a half years and I feel like I might be good at it. I really love acting and I want to do it as a professional career but I'm also afraid of being judged. Thank you so much for posting these videos. • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad I could help! You want your acting skills to be at least passible, if you want any chance at book a part. If someone’s acting is terrible, it can be very hard for them to get book, because they skill isn’t even passible. Of course I always suggest the better your acting skills are, the more potential chance you have at actually booking the parts you audition for. It’s very simple. The better you are at acting, the better chance you have at booking. Then you gotta feel ready in yourself. There are some people who walk into the room knowing their good and others who walk in hoping they are good enough. When you can walk into the room knowing your good, then you can truly know if you’re ready 👍🏼

    Bruh,This video specifically focuses on teens,I'm a teen myself but the main thing is that My parents believe that I can never become an actor,I wanna prove them wrong,But I cannot self submit projects without their help(Just financial help)This is where I'm stuck,They say that I should focus on my studies,and in my family,It's like study is everything,you're nothing without it,But I think that Apart from my studies,my parents should also invest in what I want,if you're a parent and reading this,Please help your child,specially teens,we go through a ot in this age.

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Remember that your parents want what is best for you, because with acting there is no guarantee. If you go to school, get good grades, go into a good profession you can almost guarantee you’ll do alright for yourself. With acting there is no guarantee, so you must remember that. Imagine if it was your kid.
      Everyone is dealt a different hand in life and in your situation at the current moment it may be hard to pursue acting. Remember, you do not have to become an actor today! You have a lot of time ahead of you. If it’s not something you will want to do in 4 years, than you probably don’t really want to do it. This may be your current circumstance. The best thing you can do is wait, keep doing good in school and work on acting in your spare time. Really show them (rather than just tell them) that you can both work on your acting and good get grades at the same time. You must work within the circumstances that you are given (just how we do with acting).
      Hope this helps 👍🏼

      It probably wouldn’t be something you would bring up right off the bat, unless you are specifically in conversation and it happens to come out. What it really depends on is the delivery. Though what a person says is important also HOW they say it is also very important too.

      Yes, switch up the intention of some given lines. Something that can show another side of the character, while still staying honest to the script.
      Different outfits is another one (while still wearing an outfit the character might wear). It can provide different looks and helps casting visualize you more for the part.

I love Quentin Tarantino movies and hope to maybe act in his last movie but that’s only a dream. I was wondering what to do because I see these different acting classes but wondering if that’s enough to audition or enough for an agent or casting director. I’m in grade 10 and didn’t really know what I wanted to do with my life, but the last 6 months I was dead set on acting, not just for the fame but because I used to enjoy it so much when I was younger, what should I do now to become successful? Do I join drama classes in my town? I’m just really stressed out because it’s been so long since I did theatre and I don’t want to get “bullied” because of it, but I know this is what I want to do and I know that shouldn’t matter, just wondering if u had any tips

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there, well in order to improve on your craft, you will need training. Acting classes are helpful with this, as long as you find the right class for you. Not every acting class is great and that will be important for you to remember in your career. Students will tend to look at an instructor as the all knowing genius to acting, and they kiss the ground they walk on. Do not fall into this trap. Some instructors are good and some are not. Knowing this will help you find the right training that works for you. If it works great, if it doesn’t throw it out. If you want, you can take a look at our *10 Hour Acting Masterclass 2.0* and see if it works for you. You get a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you find it’s not for you, than you can return it, but if you like it, than you can keep lifetime access to it 👍🏼
      In terms of the classes around you and worrying about bullying. Try not to stress about it so much. It could be great. Remember, everyone there is in the same class as you, to LEARN. Hang out with the people you like in class and if the class for some reason becomes really unbearable, then just leave that class and find a new one. Remember, YOU are in control as to which path you take in your life 👍🏼👍🏼
      Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions 👍🏼

The fear of failure and being looked at weird is still there but has faded greatly as I started to gain more confidence and getting involved in more opportunities surrounding the film industry. 3 years ago when I made this comment I would be comeplety flabbergasted to see what I’m doing today. It really depends. The problem with books, especially for new actors it can sometimes cause them to get in their heads and over think it a bit. Not everything may be necessarily useful to specifically you.
      The two books that I might suggest starting out with is Acting Without Agony / True and False by David Mamet / Respect For Acting by Uta Hagen. There is of course also An Actor Prepares by Constantin Stanislavski.

    How can I stop holding back my lines when I'm suppose to be say them in an emotional way within any scene? For example, you're arguing to your wife whether to abort a baby or not. You start getting outraged, how can you say the lines meaningful from the fathers' side, without backing out... in my case, this scene isn't really happening. How could I not hold back my emotion (doubting, also my mind naturally telling me this isn't real) and stay in the scene strongly enough to be in it?

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brenda, if you do not find any auditions in your own area currently that’s alright. If you are trying to build up your resume, there are many easy ways to do that with Backstage.
      Because everything has been so heavily online for the past year, many projects have switched to doing zoom projects. Meaning you could book and never have to leave your house for these specific projects, which they have many available (you can use their filter tool to find these auditions specifically).
      These auditions are of course not as profound as if you were to do something in person, there’s no real way of getting around that, but it can be a very easy way for actors to start building up their resume right now. It’s still very applicable at the moment, with the current state of the world that we are in.
      Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions 👍🏼

      Hey you can do it. First you have to take classes, second of all you gotta set your mindset, third of all you have to look for auditions which are worth going to foreign country to act. If it's a small role then I don't think it's worth spending lakhs to go across the country and coming back. So your role must be big enough to be worth going there. Then you can try for visa. I wish you become a very successful actor. May God fulfill your wishes.
