  • Clips of me practicing Aerial Silks at the studio where I take classes at just before the holidays. It has been about a year since I began taking classes and I am still loving every minute of it! I have been learning new drops and combos along with new conditioning techniques to make me a stronger aerialist. The song in this video is "Interloper" by Carbon Based Lifeforms. Hope you enjoy!

    Loved the three consecutive drops you did at 2:45! Amazing, you've come such a long way. Thanks for being such a great inspiration. :)

    Watching these has been a real inspiration. Every time you release one I get this urge to climb up and practice new things! In particular, here at 4:40 you do this variation on the hock climb. I've only ever been able to pull that off with skin-to-silk contact, and you transition it smoothly into this graceful stance. I'm always so impressed!

      AGrayPhantom Thank you so much! That means a lot to me. I have never practiced that climb with skin to silk contact but I do notice that it makes a big difference what type of fabric my leggings/tights are made of. Some fabric just slides right off the silk. These leggings are made of cotton and they grip quite nicely.

    Trying to register on your Site and won't allow me to. Also tried to message you and wouldn't allow that either. Inspired by your videos I'm a single mother of three and was a gymnasts for years when I was younger. Love the idea of how much fun working on fitness can be doing this or Ariel rope dancing could be. I'd like to join your Site if you wouldn't mind helping me get passed the registration issue. Keep up the good work. Maybe I found what I've been looking for, but would like the guidance of someone self taught. Considering that's what I'll be doing being that where I live us such a small town. No way would I find a gym or instructor. Thank you!

    How was it going from pole to silks? I'm going the opposite direction: silks to pole and I want to know what the transition was like for you as a pole artist

    • @onlinepolestudio
      @onlinepolestudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I enjoyed going from pole to silks because I could get a better hand grip on the silks than I could on the pole. You should do fine going from silks to pole. Your upper body strength will be in your favor.

    • @olivechirlop5343
      @olivechirlop5343 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally going to silks from pole gave me such an advantage because they have similar moves and the upper strength is already built up! So I'm sure it works both ways!! I know you posted this comment a long time ago so I hope pole has been awesome for you! It was a good experience for myself too!

    Hi I am a dancer and I want to transition to the aerial silk. I still do not know my splits. Can I still take classes or do to need to know the splits ?

    • @onlinepolestudio
      @onlinepolestudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Editing Prime That's a great background to have going into aerial silks. You do not need to know your splits to take classes. I still don't have mine in any direction and there are plenty of things for me to learn. Plus, most moves can be modified if you aren't quite flexible enough for them. Give it a try! I love it!

    When you live in the middle of nowhere that has one gymnastics place without silks... >:(
    It's an awful gymnastics place! I went for a year, and every class there were different coaches (all teenagers) with different kids! We never got anything done. My "coach" dropped me on my head twice. I want to do this so bad, but I can't, unless I wanna pay hundreds of dollars for a 30 minute class that is 5 hours away! D:

      hi :) you can learn it via Skype with someone who wants to help you. I am an aerial student for 1 year and I believe I could help you to learn basics (that are on this video). You would just need your silk and a lot of patience and persistance

    what i see you (and many many other beginning aeralists) doing a lot in these videos is relaxed/flexed feet and curled toes, which looks sloppy and unprofessional. try pointing with your entire foot, and don't focus on curling your toes, focus on pressing the ball of your foot down and forward so there's a straight, flat line from your knee along your shin, through your ankle all the way to your toes.
