Oh my goodness!! I so wish I had come across this video sooner. I am too embarrassed to say how long I have been struggling to clear that descale message. I had literally given up on my machine. Thanks to you, I have cleaned it, descaled it, cleared the message and we are back in business. Bless you🙏🏼
This is the only process that actually worked for my Cuisinart. We ran 2.5 reservoirs of vinegar/water solution thru our coffee maker. The DESCALE light remained on. We ran pure vinegar thru and instead of pressing the brew button, we pressed the HOT WATER/RINSE buttons instead. The DESCALE light went off and we rinsed our coffee maker with pure water. This suggestion by Ron works! Thanks Ron.
We had the same experience with having to replace the unit and eventually had to just do some research. It popped up again and we forgot how to do it and quickly found your video. You are a lifesaver for posting this 😉👍
Thank you so much! I had followed another directives, mix water and vinegar, and descale sign would not go away! Did it several times. Your instructions were awesome!!!!!
I've watched many video's on how to do this procedure and you Sir are the ONLY one who mentioned holding the HOT WATER and RINSE buttons at the same time AND IT WORKED. Thank you very much for sharing this hidden secret, you just got a new sub.
Just want to say a HUGE thank you for this video! My Cuisinart is only 1.5 years old and for about a year it’s wanting descaling and runs slower and slower. (Brewing 1 12oz takes about 2 minutes) which doesn’t sound like a lot but when you know how quickly it use to brew and has slowly gotten worse. Over the last year I’ve watched numerous videos and none ever working. I came across your video, crossed my fingers knowing once again I’m sure the problem won’t be fixed and VOILA… it did!! I can’t express my happiness that watching your video and doing exactly as you instructed has saved me from returning this machine (I have a 3 year warranty) THANK YOU!!!!
You’re quite welcome at least you didn’t go through two new machines one after another after I started seeing D scaling the company replace them for me because we couldn’t get the D scale sign to go off LOL go figure Cuisinart didn’t know how to do it themselves
You were the first one I’ve seen that stated BOTH lights will be lit when you press Hot Water and Rinse at the same time. I had been trying for 2 days now, pressing both buttons, but NOT at the exact same time evidently, the Hot Water light would always be the one to stay on, and the descale would not go away. I tried it a couple of times before I got both lights to stay on and it worked, THANK YOU!!
Ron this video should have 10 million views. You are the only one that figured how to fix the dam thing. I replaced the machine twine following the manufacture steps which is pointless
It worked! After two cleanings the descale light still remained on…Arrggh! Watched your video, and with just one hit of the buttons, the machine reset! Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for your video! Neither the Bissell documentation or Bissell TH-cam video include the need to hold down the "rinse" button with the hot water. I could never get the descale message to disappear, until now. Thanks again!!!!!!!!
OMG Thank you. I went through 2 1/2 gallons of vinegar and 6 reservoirs full of water/vinegar or just plain vinegar, trying to descale with just the hot water button as instructed and the descale indicator was STILL on. I thought maybe I had a defective machine or maybe a defective indicator. I pushed the two buttons as you said and MAGIC! The descale indicator disappeared! It had probably been descaled after the first try. Now I only hope I didn't hurt it with all that vinegar. After I saw you push both buttons at once I remembered that I had been instructed to do that with my first machine. I'm on my second one and I couldn't find the manual so I looked to TH-cam for directions. Thank you again for the CORRECT instructions.
Ron: thank you so much. Your directions worked perfectly. Prior to descaling the unit over pressured the k cup and blew coffee grounds everywhere. Thanks again.
Fantastic video! You’re my hero! I have descaled so many times trying to get the descale word off my screen and this is what finally worked! Thank you!!
You’re a life saver!!! I’ve been trying for the last 2 hours and the descale didn’t want to disappear and now it has with your video. I used lemon juice instead of vinegar (don’t like the smell of vinegar) Thank you!!!
Ron.... Thank you so much. I have the same brewer and I have been trying to descale it since the light came on yesterday. I used up my descaling solution and all the vinegar in the house (& trust me that's a lot of vinegar as I clean with vinegar) and that damn descale light would not go away. I even left vinegar in the machine all night and while I was at work today. Still, the descale light was on. I don't know why I didn't see your video yesterday but, I'm glad I found it today. I figured I've run enough vinegar & descaling solution thru the machine that the only thing I need to do now is press both buttons simultaneously and the light should turn off.... AND IT DID!! 'Preciate you posting the video!! #cuisinartcoffeemaker
Jennifer Grow I know way it’s pretty stupid when the people at the factory don’t even know how to reset it LOL took me so much time to figure it out anyways enjoy thank you
RM Mal You’re quite welcome and yes it took me actually for the company to replace the unit three times because nobody knew how to figure out how to do scale it at the Company until I talk to somebody in the states that’s just too funny that the only company didn’t know how to D scale it
Thanks so much, the descal reminder went out. Only prob was ihave small fingers so i didn't get both buttons pushed simultaneously every time but it still worked, all cleaned and good for another 6 months or so. Yay, coffee on dudes and dudetts 🤞✌️✌️😅🤣🧚
Thank you. I got this coffee pot that I thoroughly am pleased with, but could never remove the scale option no matter how many time I flushed the system with no manual I was totally in the dark thank you so much
Thank you for posting! I’ve tried several times to descale according to another video I saw and it never worked. Your video was the first video I saw that said both buttons had to be pressed simultaneously. The other video just said to press the hot water button.
I am having a frustrating situation. I press the rinse and hot water buttons as you explained. Both light up and then the display reads E ED and nothing will work. I’ve tried turning unit off and back on and removing and replacing water reservoir and still get the error code
Oh my goodness!! I so wish I had come across this video sooner. I am too embarrassed to say how long I have been struggling to clear that descale message. I had literally given up on my machine. Me too I guess it's all in the right video! Mine is fine and got rid of that descale.

Thanks so much for your video! Neither the Bissell documentation or Bissell TH-cam video include the need to hold down the "rinse" button with the hot water. I could never get the descale message to disappear, until now. Thanks again!!!!!!!!

Thank you for making this video. SO HELPFUL and effective. Finally the sign went away.
Ron: thank you so much. Your directions worked perfectly. Prior to descaling the unit over pressured the k cup and blew coffee grounds everywhere. Thanks again.

Thank you sir, this was very helpful after making several attempts unscucessfully. Per your instructions finally got the descale light to go off.

You’re a life saver!!! I’ve been trying for the last 2 hours and the descale didn’t want to disappear and now it has with your video. I used lemon juice instead of vinegar (don’t like the smell of vinegar) Thank you!!!

Do I run clean water through the system after de scaling to clean out the vinegar?
Yes you run through approximately two full containers of clean water to rinse out the vinegar, unless you like vinegar in your coffee LOL
Thank you this worked!
Thank you November 2021!
Very helpful thank you
I pressed the hot water and rinse and the rinse light won’t light up?
Thank you thank you...i brew vinegar twice and the descale light was still on till i followed your instructions...

Cuisinart’s own TH-cam video on this is actually wrong. 🤦♂️This video is the correct way 👍🏼
Awesome! Thank You!
I am having a frustrating situation. I press the rinse and hot water buttons as you explained. Both light up and then the display reads E ED and nothing will work. I’ve tried turning unit off and back on and removing and replacing water reservoir and still get the error code

Use distilled water. Extends the life of the unit.
