Thanks for the tutorial. I could not have managed without. That said, this job is not for the faint-hearted. I also ended up having to do it twice over - the screen cable connectors provide no positive feel at all and the first time my screen would not turn back on.
PS: I left the installation of the NFC antenna to the very end, when, after connecting its cable, I knew where the antenna wanted to rest on the battery. In the video, you seem to go on blind faith at an earlier step. Brave man.

This has saved my life. :-)
I found three things to improve:
    1. If the NFC Antenna is removed first and installed last the position of the antenna will always be correct. I found that I had to shift it by several millimetres to keep the flat cable ... flat. No problem for me because I had "avoided" the proper new antenna with the proper new adhesive.
    2. Before sealing it one should test everything......
    3. The "official" way to seal the case is not "superglue" but an adhesive tape. Mine came with the tool set.
And one hint: The quality of the screwdriver is important. With cheap tool sets one damages the screws too easily. Better buy an expensive one.

    Things I'm noticing:
    1) Using a hairdryer is fine for cover removal
    2) Some of the 7 screws are easily stripped with old screwdrivers that don't fit 100% if the screws are in tight (unscrew carefully)
    3) A paper clip works just fine to remove the NFC connection
    4) Vibrator block screw (1 screw on bottom right) is very tight (unscrew carefully, I stripped mine a lot)!
    5) 4:23 Don't tug at the corner like he does thinking you will remove the whole bottom section (vibrator block), but rather, insert the paper clip under the nice big gap under the two golden round thingies under the vibrator connector you just removed with the red and black wires. Place it under and lift up.
    6) Motherboard flip over by using the battery as leverage, pushing down on it (landscape), carefully helping corners out that don't want to move
Okay I stopped commenting. That was a lot of fun. Recovered the NFC fine with a blade. Everything went perfect. Thanks to you Mr. French man! Thanks, Bricophone. Nice instructions!

Is it essential to remove the motherboard? It seems that it doesnt improve the overall "battery removal"

    • @bricophone
      @bricophone  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi, it's not essential but it is recommended to preserve the motherboard

It is hard otherwise to break the bond of the sticky tape that holds the battery in place.

I tried changing my battery because my phone wouldn't charge/turn on.
Basically if I connect the cable to recharge it it just displays the red dot on the notification led, then on the screen you see the battery icon which is at the lowest level in red but then it keeps turning off and turning the screen on again with this same battery icon, always low.
I changed the battery with a brand new one with this tutorial and it's still not working nor does it turn on. I have some memories to save before getting a new phone, any idea on how to troubleshoot this?
