Wish we could just go back to the good old days of just taking the back of the phone off and just swapping the battery. So much easier I know this new way makes the phone slimmer but it's a massive money spinner

@@darkrebellion6331 sometimes when you leave your phone to 3rd party service center they take your phone spare parts and replace it with a cheap one

5:50 - This bracket is very weak and brittle specially that small middle part. Broke it in half. 🤣

Wow... Ridiculous amount of effort to replace a battery. Scary
this one is a breeze, you should see the newer one's that are glued up solid in there, can't be pried out, and then there'a also the touchscreen cable running up in the glue underneath the battery.. The battery will explode in an invisible flame when you try to peel it out, and heat only kinda works to loosen the glue.
Is this a complete disassembly or after you removed the battery you would have to removed another things to have a complete disassembly? I ask because I want to change the frame

It is possible to change the battery with an higher capacity battery, originally it's 2700mah, and if i'am puting an 2900 mah,what will be the consequences ?

Some tech saying that this trick is useless on every phone because the chipset already been set to charge at original capacity.

damn, if it's easier just lifting the back panel rather than the lcd. the replacement lcd is so hella expensive if the old one is broken though. back panel would cost only 5 bucks
You can only disconnect the battery from the top, and there are 6 screws you need to deal with. You will make the job 100x more difficult thinking you are that smart and capable.
But you will find trouble the moment you take the back off and need to start over properly. But by all means learn the hard way.

I successfully replace the battery without need to remove motherboard
I saw that as an unnecessary step as well unless you run into trouble lifting the battery out, and those batteries can burn up in a flame you can't see with the naked eye, so beware.
I replaced the battery removing just the screen, the metal inner cover and the battery.
Nothing more.
But My Phone Needed More Heating than the Video.

If you buy the correct sealing gasket adhesive then it should be, providing you fit it correctly.
It would be better if it can be opened from the back and not in the front.. If someone mistakenly crack the screen.. Its a bad thing

thank you so much. but Sony! Seriously??? I had 3 Sony phones which their batteries were swollen after 1-2 years and pushed the LCD out. altho Sony batteries are crap, yet they made the phones in a way that you have to open it from the LCD and there's a risk of the LCD being broken. PAH!!!
Don't leave your phone in your car and your batteries won't well up.

Why did you take the motherboard out to remove the battery but put the motherboard back in first... does not make sense .... thanks for the video tho,,, i now know not to buy this phone..... dissgraceful the lengths you have to go to change a battery.
Paul Shaw To remove the battery you have to remove the motherboard to expose the adhesive tape. But when putting things back you have to place motherboard back first, otherwise you don't know where exactly to stick the battery. Sony removed the metal housing of battery for XZ1 to make it ultra thin, which is the most pointless sacrifice possibly made.
This is silly ,why du they make it so complicated just to replace the battery??

Worst fucking smartphone i've ever owned. Everything is fucking breaking on it's own after some time. Wouldn't recomend 2/10!
