There is NOBODY in the world that can sing it like Momma Vesta. She spends time with God DAILY and has a very powerful Anointing. She LIVES what she sings and preaches! Nobody like the Mangun's! So blessed to know them!
This may be my most favorite singer in all the world. In her mid 80's. I wish all her old recordings were still available. I first heard her on the radio in the late 50's. I wonder what will happen when she's gone. Will we still sing like this. The moving of the Holy Ghost is the most precious thing in the world. She has it. I love it.
This is what I was raised on in the Church of God. We are moving away from this in many of the Pentecostal churches today. I do love the psalms and praise songs. But I love these testimonial and the theological songs that talk about the death, burial, resurrection, and soon coming of the Lord. They have meaning, feeling, and anointing.
preacherman , I've been in the COG most of my life, we now attend an AG church that loves these old songs, red back hymnal and a move of the Holy Ghost! So thankful for a true Pentecostal church!
Sister Mangun is an awesome Child of God; Happy belated 83rd birthday, Sister Vesta this past week (March 3). Thank you for your ministry, testimony, and anointed voice in preaching and singing. They'll never be another Sis Vesta! Thank you Jesus!!!
I dont know this precious saint of God. However, I came across the postings this morning....and I agree. Our churches are missing the Joy of the Lord, the Power of the Holy Spirit...why?...because I (me) will not let Him move...I take responsibility for myself..now if each of us will too, God can move again in our churches! Praise God for this Saint who KNOWS that she KNOWS that she KNOWS that God is real and is her Shepard and her Guide!
she's still alive and worshipping at the pentecostals of alexandria louisiana! i drove over 300 miles to meet her and tell her my testimony. got a picture of us together. i have it taped in my bible. she is just the same in real life. thank God for Lane!
Vesta is a very good singer. She reminds of a good christain lady called June who sings and is still a youth leader. I am a backslider and she had got me thinking of coming back to god, when she sang I'd rather have jesus
It's 4/14/22. Come back. I was backslid for decades and more lost that I can say, but I came back around 2018. Best decision of my miserable life! Thank God for mercy and forgiveness!
The church isn't missing the spirit moving but its missing the holy ghost moving and touching hearts and convincing mens heart and changing their lives...
Today's date is 3.13.2020 and.......if you hear the music style this same church uses today, it is completely rock and roll with strobe lights......their service looks like a club interior. The singers on the stage even do sensual dance steps in time with the music. Nasty to say the least.
