Moving cichlids around is inevitable if you keep enough of them. They have so much personality. It’s honestly half the fun of keeping them. Great vid. Always have a back up plan is sound advice

Awesome advise on Cichlid aggression remedies. Just spent my Saturday separating eight OBs from main tank that were with Peas & Haps. Now have eight OBs in 65G with OBs only. They are very beautiful fish & my wife loves them, however in my experience I've found that the OBs just have too much energy & are too aggressive. Time will tell if they can be managed in their own tank 😎

The Jurupari was the most logical option for the swap! I am surprised the firemouth in your brother´s aquarium is so mean, I have 7 fire mouths and they are mostly all show no bites, they just flare at each other. In my planted tank I even have them mixed with swordtails and very small tetras and they totally ignore them.
Yep, agreed! It’s surprising that this Firemouth is such a bully. Usually in a tank setup like this, they’ll be more docile. There are always outliers when it comes to individual cichlids though!

I mentioned a while back that those fire mouths can be absolutely out of control. While such a pretty fish, they are IMO some of the most aggressive fish I have ever owned. I tried them 3 separate times over the course of a year and I couldn’t believe how aggressive they were with my bigger GT, JD, and all the other fish I tried them with. They can prob co exist with bigger Central Americans, I’d rehome brother… BTW love the Sveni with the Jurapari together in the 150….You got me thinking Troy 🤔
Agreed on this firemouth! He's been crazy since we got him, but also maybe the best looking FM we've seen. Should get those sveni back man! Lol

Hi Guys, loving the channel.
I’ve just bought a 450 litre tank ( roughly 120 gallons) and wanted a South American community.
Was thinking of a couple of plecos- snowball and gold nugget.
2 EBA’s, 2 geophagus sveni, 2 geophagus tapajos, 2 albino heckalii 6-8 denison barbs and maybe 12 larger tetra ( Bruno’s aires or Columbian)
Would the tank be large enough for all these? If so is there room for anything else.

I am looking for a 180 or 210 gallon tank. Do you sell aquariums? I currently have 3 Oscars in a 55 gallon but they are still small right now, but they have been fighting.

aw man you have a solo bala shark in there? He can't be happy without his own species with him can he?
Totally fine and thriving solo. They do well in groups too, but he’s been completely happy for the past 4 years

I love the way they look, when I first started in the hobby they were one of the first fish I saw at petsmart and I've wanted a school of them since then. Good thing I did some research first. At the time I only had a 10 gallon -_-
Ive raised an bred cichlids for decades , south, central, African, no matter how big the tank is they'll still fight ,big dumb fish, waste of time in my opinion, pairs are the only going way. Dither, lmfao it was called differ, like your differing the aggression, dither come on man. An 180 tank is small. Those are all tanks you buy at petco.

A 180 tank is definitely not small. Most people don’t have room for that in their home. Sure you can have a bigger tank, but by your logic you could say a 300gal is small. Differing the aggression? Lmao
I haven't seen a 180 gallon at Petco 🙄
