    I got the 2023 base 4xe, $61,000. On 19 gallons of fuel, I will easily get 1,000 miles, the is 52 mpg! It is also crazy fast if you need it!

    Jeep, you're missing a big opportunity here that I think you should take out of Toyota's Trailhunter playbook. I'd like a high wattage 115v inverter in the rear and a way to keep the vehicle in "generator mode" similar to an F150 powerboost. Boom, no more generator needed for camp. That massive battery could power an all electric campsite for days on end. Im talking hot water, convection stoves, everything. Also, don't forget the onboard air! Not only can it let you take the tire pressure up and down but it can be adapted to provide water pressure. Lastly, with the Rivian you can set it to take a low amp trickle charge and squeeze some extra juice in with Solar. Combine that with your 500m range and that's deserving of the overlanding namesake! Really hoping to see some improvements in 2024, some of us are foaming at the mouth for a PHEV off-road vehicle. Right now it's 85% there, just need to see some iteration for the other 15%.

    Since I've seen you drive multiple Defenders, I'm assuming you're a fan. With that being said, which do you like more, This or the Defender? which is quieter, smoother?

      They are super similar from a ride quality perspective, but the defender is a little smoother, but it’s louder

    I agree that the new generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is better looking, inside and out, has better powertrains, better technology, improved off-road, etc.
    I know looks are subjective but I don’t understand how the prior generation GC could be considered better looking, better equipped, or better off-road than this one.

    • @CrumResearch

      Current generation WK2 looks great and works well with Openpilot, for example. Classic.

    • @cheapme1850
      @cheapme1850 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best looking GC was the WK version prior to the WK2. Classic boxy Jeep corners and the semi round headlights were classic. The new GC is a toss up versus the WK2 as far as looks but the 200 lbs. weight reduction and the hybrid power train put the WL in front.

    Hey Ben~ do you think that the 4xe will ever get the new 3.0 Hurricane engine? That would be amazing & it really needs more engine.

  • @JCintheBCC
    @JCintheBCC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I saw a 12V outlet in the trunk space. Is that a continuous power outlet? I wired my current SUV for continuous power to the trunk for a fridge. It would be great if I didn't have to in the GC.

  • @jayray274
    @jayray274 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Now if they’d throw this powertrain into the Ram we could talk. Hard to justify a 75K SUV. When one could potentially need to purchase a trailer for all those truck things that either don’t fit or want in a SUV.

      @@markcoopers1930 Ben’s situation is much different than most of us, I was talking in regards to myself. I like the 4xe but I can’t (right now) justify spending 70k for a suv and then have to purchase a trailer vs. buying a pickup for the same cost, but losing the electric/hybrid tech. 🤷‍♂️

    • @UniSonBBS08
      @UniSonBBS08 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a PHEV which yes you can charge the battery while on the move but it can't keep up and therefore to get the best range from your battery you will need to plug it in.

    I know the 392 is drastically difference in several ways. It isn't just the speed but the sound. I know the 4xe isn't a 392 but what do you think about launches in this thing with electric torque while boosting that little turbo? Brendan Hayline or whatever his name is was giving some vehicles a run for their money on the track in a Wrangler 4xe. I have a V6 and a V8 JGC WK and the V8 is clearly faster and sounds better but wasn't sure if the 4xe is a jump up over the V8 like the V8 is to the V6.

    I wouldn't buy it. GC is a heavy car and would need a bigger engine to compensate and fully charge the battery. If you will use the car for short distances let's say a bit longer than the battery allow you, then it's perfect, otherwise a pure ICE GC is a must.
