- Randy Newberg joins Pat Meiwes from Warn Winches to get some basics about winching techniques, and necessary gear.
First lesson is the best way to not need a winch is to not get stuck. Pat teaches Randy that speed and velocity is not always the best approach when trying to thread the needle. Pat shows Randy some simple ways to ease his Nissan Titan through a big hole that has already swallowed a Toyota 4Runner.

I appreciate the comment about NOT going around the rough stuff. Too many people, driving or even hiking widen the trail/road and it ends up a much bigger mess than just sucking it up and going though it.

Yes that's the big problem with aggressive tires. Here in Hawaii when I was still hunting the destination was short so I could get 50,000 miles on them . But you travel much farther then here. I like your videos great job. Aloha.

Randy you got the right gun ammo and gear,. but you really need more aggressive tires. The right tires will save you a lot of heart ache.
I have tried that, but when I do 25K road miles getting to hunting locations, I burn through them quickly and they are very noisy. This is the happy medium I've settled on.
That's just the accountant in you talking, Randy. Consider it a business expense and crank up the tunes!
Been 3 weeks since a real hunting video. I don't mind watching the promo's and you selling us on gear. But I need my hunting video fix. The balance between the types of video is off. LOL

Ever look at a Bush Winch? Uses your own wheels to get you unstuck. A number of videos on youtube showing how it works.

Don’t bother, you have a real winch now. I’ve only watched the first video so far but I’m wondering why they didn’t start with airing down your tires. Unless that’s not an option for you.
