I spent a month on La Palma in March 2023. I stayed 2 weeks in Santa Cruz and 2 weeks in Los Llanos. In Santa Cruz I stayed in an apartment at the top of the Ascensor and used it several times. One evening I saw the Festival of the Dancers, that ran through the streets from the square where the ship museum is down to the harbour. It included those tall costume wearers on stilts and the men carrying firework effigies. It was down at the harbour when all the fireworks were set off. But that night I had to climb the steps back up to the top of town. Los Llanos is a lovely relaxed town. They had a go karting racing competition on. I visited the spot you show in the video to get close to the volcanic vent with the yellow sulphur running down. I also took the bus through the lava field showing lava penetrating the buildings and trekked across the lava to the museum of the lava tunnel from a previous eruption. I visited Tazarcorte on a much windier day than in your video. The waves hitting the beach were 10-12 feet high. I also visited Los Tilos where I was surrounded by forest birds when having lunch on a park bench. Not shown in your video is La Fajana in the north which is a truly epic spot where the sea waves are channelled through the rock formations. There are also rock swimming pools there and probably the restaurant with the best view on the island. The roads down there are however very steep and surrounded by banana plantations. And yes I drove up those 40 hairpin bends to get to the top of the volcano. Quite challenging. A small hire car works best on those roads. La Palma is a gem but to get there requires taking a small prop plane from Gran Canaria which can be a bumpy ride on the return leg. Well worth the trip though.
You certainly stayed longer than most. I wish I had have had more time but could only do so much in the time I had. There must be so much I missed on this amazing island! Personally I flew into La Palma from Gran Canaria and took the ferry from La Palma to Tenerife. The ferry was actually really nice way to travel though the seas were calm when I made the trip.
Lovely island, I hope to be back one day. Thanks for the video! Although they call La Palma the beautiful island (isla bonita), beauty is subjective and I'd argue each of the Canary Islands has something to offer and is unique and beautiful in its own way. I was filming on La Palma during the eruption, a lot of my experience was of course overshadowed by that, but I was just as stunned by the islands beauty as you. One of my other favorite islands so far: La Gomera, I have a video from that one too.
it turned out to be a gap-filling video, we recently came home from Tenerife and became interested in la Palma. I've been looking for a meaningful video about it several times, but I've never found it. Obviously, this also lacks some things that I would have liked to have seen, but it is still far better than the others that I have seen so far. nice work
I've been to La Palma eight times now. And I can tell the island is far more stunning than what is shown in this video. If you really want to experience La Palma you have to get out of your car and walk to the most beautiful places imaginable. Stand on top of the island, at the top op Roque the los Muchachos. Taken the hike to Mirador El Time. Stand on top of Volcan Teneguía. Walk through the wet forests of La Zarza or right through the Caldera crater.
I have been on holiday 6 times on La Palma and I would say that for me, the island is the most beautiful of the 8 Canary Islands. I can say that with certainty, as I have been to all 8 Canary Islands! Here are the Islands: Tenerife Gran Canaria Lanzarote Fuerteventura La Palma La Gomera El Hierro La Craciosa
Great video, I’m going to a lot of these places when I go in June this year
Hope you have a great time!

Then why watch and criticize my video? You know more, fair enough.
Cosa mi consigli in una settimana di vedere? Lo so che è poco.. queste cose che hai citato sono indispensabili in una settimana o c’è dell’ altro?

Sorry, but plate presentation looked like crap to me. Hope food was not that expensive according to their serving.
Damn tasty I thought though, and not expensive though I don’t remember the exact price.
