Legitimately curious why you think you should be charging the customer 4 days rent to repair the car when they aren't at fault here? Did they not have insurance? And if they did and you're still trying to charge them 4 days rent in this situation that's shady as hell and a huge red flag for people to stay away from your business.
It sucks but at the end of the day the car was rented to him and their responsibility, just like if someone was to hit and run your car you still got to pay for it through insurance or out of pocket
its common practice to charge for loss of rental and its all in the hire agreement , unfortunately while you have the car it your responsibility for any damages thats why you pay the extra for full coverage

When you rent a car you are responsible for any and all damages same as if you owned it. Even enterprise will charge you for a broken window.

Double parking is an asshole move especially in places where parking spaces are already scarce. Nobody deserves to get their car vandalized for being a double parking asshole, but other assholes will think they do, and that's what happens. No other cars got damaged, so there you go. If they wanted to do Houston a favor, that would mean driving (and parking) responsibly l, and then returning the car undamaged, in accordance with the written agreement. Simple as that.
A parking lot ding houston would cover getting vandalized because of a bad parking job is a different story

So if someone t-bones you, the insurance company would say, "oh well, you should've been driving more responsible, and if you weren't at that location, at that time, it wouldn't have happened, so it's your fault. If a renter damages a car, they are at fault for the actual repairs.I don't think it is fair for a renter to pay for the days it takes for parts to arrive. What if something is on back order for 2 months? You can't expect someone to pay for 60 days when the car is out of service. That's just my opinion.

well if the cars out of service due to the damage you caused you can't expect the rental company will take the hit. its standard in almost all rental contracts. you can also try to arrange repair through a 3rd party if you so choose to or can get it done faster than the quote that the rental company gave you.

There's something called insurance
There's something else called a contract which the renter signed that had the terms of the rental on it.
Companies could cover these costs but the price of rentals would have to go up and they wouldn't competitive. If people did the research and were willing to pay a higher rate to cover this I'm sure it'd be common, but they don't.

You simply charge the card you put on record when you initially rent the car. (Cancel the card immediately after to avoid any unnecessary charges 😉).

No they make you wear a blindfold when you step foot on property, there is a vision charge of $250 if you want to see anything.
If they would have parked normally they would have gotten dinged doors then the company would have charged them like 5 grand to fix and buff the doors and 10 days worth of rentals for the time it was out of commission it's crazy these people should not have been charged anything extra they did everything right that should be on the company or atleast the insurance not the customer.
