Shinjuku Ni Chome has dramatically changed since I was there in the late 60's, early 70's. There were very few gay bars back then, and no discos. The bars I remember were Regent, Mako, Sazai, Shire and 995. These bars were gaisen(sp) bars and catered to foreigners. Men dressed very formal, usually coat and tie. On a number of occasions when my Japanese partner Yoshi and I would go to a gay bar, he would wear a kimono and I would wear a 3-piece suit. I have a picture of us in 1969 at a bar dressed that way.

for those wondering why in the video you can see so many foreigners at the clubs it's because foreigners are not allowed to come in to gay bars for only locals, so there are gay bars for locals (japanese people) and gay bars for tourists, foreigners and japanese who are into locals and want to meet them, it's sad but that's the truth!

Klopt. In Japan mag je buiten bijna nergens roken, maar binnen wel. Gek eigenlijk.

When I was in Tokyo 1991, most of the bars had signs with ”Only japanese , so not much exciting for me! , but I visited a gay port cinematek

It’s mostly pop music.
In Asian countries and even in European and American cities it may be that there were patrons there who may not be ready to have their faces splashed across the internet while they're in a gay bar. In fact, in some countries and societies they could potentially be ostracized by their families and/or ridiculed at work or lose their jobs. I am hoping that for their sakes you sought their permissions for these contents. Otherwise, it will appear as self serving and careless.
