Forgive my ignorance, but aren't all moray eel species going to need full marine water by the time they get to adulthood? The only true freshwater eel I know about is tte American eel (Anguilla rostrata) and even they need to return to the sea to spawn. All the other freshwater "eels" are either elongated fish or knife fish, right?

Ya I accidentally feed a 7" clown knife to one of my Oscars didn't feed them first hand other fish in the tank that were about the same size so I didn't hesitate to put the knife in it literally swam straight into the Oscars mouth 😊
From New Guinea I think... live in fast flowing streams miles from the ocean and do not migrate to or ever live in brackish or saltwater. They seem to require higher pH and alkalinity values. Get about 40"+ long and have a nice long lifespan usually. They are in the same genus as saltwater morays and even have the 2nd set of jaws inside of their gullet that grab the prey item and pull it down into the stomach for digestion. Like all other eels, they seem to find out where every hole is located that they can fit their head and therefore the rest of their body... ending up on the floor or in filters through the overflow box. How's that boss?

It was a 18 year absence from the hobby. Before a career change I use to manage a massive fish store in my local city. The stingrays were like puppy dogs for me. We designed the water change system on this tank so we know the parameters are on point and matches our water from the shop. As for the combination of fish, the buyer was aware and willing to take the risk.
Too many factors to consider this.. water quality, fish size ans tank size.. sometimes they do well in a community tank.. rarely do i hear SR pinning an angelfish
