      It means so much to me that someone would place so much trust in my usage of a specific detector, that they would obtain one for themselves. I'm hoping you are enjoying yours just as much. Thank you Ron! :)

    Hey, Mish! I saw a video a while back where some archeologists found some bits of pottery in a cave from a few thousand years ago. They recovered quite a lot of pieces and were attempting to put them back together so they could recreate some of the pots, food storage vats and water jugs. I think they mentioned that they dug for months and it took many more months after that to go through the thousands of clay shards and get some of them glued back together. Sooooo, putting that plate back together might take lots more hunting and a few more videos involving a bottle of glue and a ton of patience.
    I wish you luck!! lol.
    As always, Mish, looking forward to your next adventure!! Later, friend!

    Nice video and beautiful eyes. I see you found what seems a hooked tag (the triangular haped object with that broken a hook), they usually are very old and can be dated back to XVI up to XVIII sec. (some even earlier). I found one very similar with 3 holes from XVII sec.

      @DirtFishMish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Marta, much fun was indeed had! Regarding the place, it was a former trading district that significantly declined in population after the trading routes changed. Very little remains of what was once there, hence the multitude of nails/glass/brick scrap. Cheers. :)

    Definitely not your regular beach finds nor your regular beach hunts, and I doubt its a popular swimming location, makes me wonder why anyone would live there, most likely they were fishermen earning a living, The big question, did the coffee bush kid catch up on the silvers this time?.. You had fun at least. 1942 Threepences are rare if they don't have a mint mark under the ribbon below the TWO. That indicates Melbourne mint. They never produced many as by this time American mints were minting our coins. D (Denver) and S (San Francisco )

    Hi 👋 Mish, what level is your RS and IR typically set to on the beach?

    • @DirtFishMish
      @DirtFishMish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G’day Chris, I usually have RS set slightly lower than default, I swing slower than the average detectorist as well - can’t remember on this exact hunt but probably around 4 here (couldn’t be too low on this beach due to target density!). IR hasn’t been tweaked from default yet, I’ve been getting decent results at default settings. 😊

    Do you like the legend, would you recommend it with the standard coil it comes with or the smaller coil ?

    • @DirtFishMish
      @DirtFishMish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ivan, I have been truly blown away by it. I got it just to showcase an affordable option alongside my much more expensive Deus 2 detector and it has been consistently pulling silver on every outing. I personally prefer using the 11" coil, 6" is excellent for specific scenarios (trashy sites, super rocky areas, or if you have limitations on the weight you can swing) but for most of my usage the 11" is fine. The 'pro-pack' comes with both coils and it's not too much of a price jump from the pack that just has the wireless headset, so it is probably worthwhile to have it in the kit. This is the pack I own: www.detect-ed.com/collections/treasure-detectors/products/the-legend-pro-pack?ref=3
      I hope you work out what works best for you - let me know how you go! Cheers. :)

    • @DirtFishMish
      @DirtFishMish  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that I’m aware of, however it was settled at a time where everyone would’ve buried their own rubbish and this is now eroding from the soil and onto the sand. The settlement no longer exists here. Cheers 😁

  • @louwallace4139
    @louwallace4139 ปีที่แล้ว

    Coil size change? Less depth? Learning

    • @DirtFishMish
      @DirtFishMish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 6" coil shines in areas where there is a high density of targets, and you want a better chance of isolating one signal from another. Realistically we wouldn't pick up deeper signals on the 'trashy' part of this beach until many of the surface targets were removed - however there is a chance the small coil will spot them. Not a massive reduction in depth, but there is less horizontal ground coverage with every swing so it's a case of picking the best tool for the particular job. :)
