Nice toothpick holder.
I haven't thrown in porcelain for years, but I love watching you throw it into such elegant shapes. Mesmerizingly beautiful and that's even before you add your lovely crystalline glazes on them.
beautiful work. look at how the light falls on the outside curve...just gorgeous Matt.
Exquisitely executed! I love watching you refine the shoulder
i really wish you would post more, these videos help me with my anxiety and help me with my own pottery
You have magical stability in your hands, couldn't take my eyes off it.
Absolutly Amazing! Thanks a lot for sharing this.
Bravo! Amazing technique and a very beautiful result.
excellent throwing skills Matt, thanks for sharing
Something about your Wheel-Throwing is so mesmerizing... I haven't been on a Wheel for ages!
You are rare
I admire your work.
❤️ You are my inspiration ❤️
wow beautiful work!!!!!!!!!
it's so pretty and very delicate
Brilliant stuff. Amazing steady hands. If you're ever in Finsbury Park, drop in and throw a few pots
Awesome!
Amazing video
Wow, mad skills
Watching you work is so attractive.
The blowtorch method is new to me, but brilliant... especially for that buttery porcelain. What a great way to stretch out that short window of throwability!! Well done.
Thank you :)
brilliant
wonderful work, and i absolutely love the music
Hello
Wonderful! You have Gods hands
very impressive!
We want more!!!!
Very nice! If I were to attempt a piece like that I'd trim the foot first because with my luck, after spending so much time on the mouth, that's the part I'd screw up. :-)
You're awesome! Thanks for showing us. I'm learning pottery in a local workshop, I'd be really nice if you could also describe the materials you use so we can learn more. Thanks! Warm regards!
I don’t get why this channel only has 15k subs
Bellissimo
Come to the Mitad del mundo!!
ngl I clicked on this video thinking you were gonna throw it against the wall or some shit but this is even better
Wow, the top .......
Do you have any tips for beginners ive been throwing for about 4-5 weeks and still can’t center
I've noticed a lot of crystalline potters throwing similar shapes (bulbous vessels with long narrow necks). I'm just curious why that is.
Lindo!
*Hello Where did you buy the revolving base? Or is it done? friend*
Doesn't using the blowtorch risk damage to the wheel?
Why don't you upload more often?
Beautiful work. Strange question, do you film in 24 fps? Your video has a very cinematic feel to it.
Cory Potrafka thank you :) yes all filmed in 24fps 👍🏼
You are great, I want! hermoso!
Beautiful! Amazing technique, too. Can you share what kind of rib you are using? And what blow torch brand you use? I love your work. Thank you for sharing!
Generally I'll use Mudtools stainless ribs (shapes 4 & 5) :) and the blow torch was from a company called Bullfinch Gas.
this is powerful.....hey.
kha ki mitti he kon sa des he
I always worry about your touching the pot after you torch it. Like, don't burn your hands, man!
Do you ever have bloopers? lol
STD -TV of course haha
It would be nice for us mere mortals to see this, occasionally.
May I ask how many pounds are you throwing in this video?
Does the neck close when the clay shrinks? Will trapped air be a problem? Gorgeous!
The necks stay open, I've never had an issue with trapped air :)
Maybe this is a dumb question, but does anyone know why he torches it?
It dries it out to make the clay firmer and easier to work with when making shapes like this :)
What is the practical purpose of making such a vase? It's basically just a clay sphere
It's just a decorative piece.
How much clay did you use for that shape? 😊
Hello
I'm no expert but it looked like about a softball amount. The way it was on the wheel looked about how much I use (about the size of a softball) everyday. I hoped this helped.
I don't see any use for this pottery other than decoration. Just not practical with such a small top unless have one very tall flower lol. In the ancient times pottery was used for collecting water and storing food and cooking. Not so much anymore.
Pottery Porn...
